I think age restriction is retarded i'm 13 and most people think i'm 18 so I could easily get in those so called "squads" but I prefer the lone wolf gameplay =) -
You should get Arma 2: Combined Operations for better textures, but you can go with Arma 2: Free and Arma 2: OA.

I suggest you go to a low populated server and familiarize with the controls and gameplay then you can move to the populated servers and search for a group of bandits. You won't find many friendlies in DayZ :D -

Do bandits put people off the game?

Bandits and friendlies are both necessary to make the game better. But, there is a higher number of bandits if you ask me. I usually shoot on sight if I see a fully geared guy, but, if I see someone with a makarov or another shitty pistol/gun I will ask if he is friendly first and if he shoots me he will die. -
The AKM's only problem is the scope and the noise. Having the standard iron sight makes it harder to headshot a zombie or a human but it's one shot kill on a zombie makes it good if you fire at a player and attract a zombie. It's a pretty nice weapon because you can find it in a fire station, balota or any easy loot place. In my opinion it doesn't have a high value but it's still pretty decent.

OK, thank you guys for your support. I'm keeping my graphics card but I will change my processor to an AMD Phenom II X4 965, my motherboard to an ASUS MB M5A78L-M LX and switching my 3GB of DDR2 ram to 4GB of DDR3 ram. I hope it gets a better performance in DayZ and in other games that I play. In the future I might upgrade my graphics card.
