We have received minimal information on the progress for the Standalone. Seen any new screenshots recently? (besides the ones he posted a month back showing the insides of a few houses) No video(s) showing any type of game play. A post made on reddit earlier last week shows rocket saying he refuses to push out the standalone unless he feels it is at a level he considers suitable. Considering that the two former map designers are locked away in greece for "espionage" Something we can all agree is total Bullshit. The greek's should be more concerned with getting there economy back on track instead of wrongfully accusing two Computer game map designers of something We all know isnt true. I believe it was this past week that we were introduced to the new map designer. Since the original two havent been able to dedicate anytime to the development of the Cherno plus map, we can only assume this new guy has a ton of catching up to do. So yes agree with the OP. We havent been informed or shown much at all. Atleast back in 2009 Blizzard had a 20 minute Video for there "upcoming" Title Diablo3. released May 15th 2012... God bless its soul.

Logged back into the public hive on Cherno. Hadnt played in over 3 months. I was quite surprised that I had my gear. Barracks/Helicopter loot Coyote pack. I went afk to mow the lawn and died of starvation. That was day 93. Now I wait for the standalone.

Dayz standalone will follow the "minecraft model" it will be available for dirt cheap upon release of the alpha. upon release of the final product the price will go up substantially. What you are asking is nothing more then the whiney prayrs of a few individuals that feel they are entitled to a free game for buying an older game.

The reason for no ground structures is blatantly obvious. What do people currently do with barbed wire tank traps and sand bags? Drop them all over the place and totally clog the roads/cities/any cool area that may be promising for a base. Now combine that with a server that runs at max people 24/7 and you have so much fucking debris/player made bases/structures all over that map totally taking away from the world. Only way I can see them doing above ground is if it disappears a week after being placed to prevent "spamming" But then why would i dedicate all my time to constructing a base to have it go poof a week later? Also Rocket said so himself in an earlier post that it would take a team of players weeks to carve out a proper base and only to risk some other group of players taking your home.

This just in! Alt f4 and hacking are the same! And I don't believe hacking was ever an issue in dayz. Now people executing custom scripts that allowed them to do things such as teleporting dropping ammo crAtes auto killing was an issue and will forever be an issue since arma2 (the gAme this mod runs off of) supports the use of scripts. So to answer your question it isn't as bad as it was, but it will never truly be fixed.

Our world gets zombie'd and only 1.5% of the earths population is alive. No law exists, no CNN to report news. I decide being the bad person that I am that I want to go around killling everyone I see in my city (toronto) After murdering 100+ people and leaving no one alive. Who is going to go tell the rest of the survivors in this world that I am a murderer? Maybe Ill pull a bruce willis in die hard three and walk around with a sign to my back saying I HATE Ni.. SURVIVORS? if I go to a small rural community and massacre all the survivors then get back into my truck and head back to my town where my "friends" are living will they know that I am a murderer? WIll they know that I just killed 4 adults and two kids? No they wont. Take your fan boy flawed logic and go elsewhere. The bandit skin has no place in this game. NO ONE wears a fucking sign saying HEY I LIKE TO KILL PEOPLE AND EAT THERE SKIN!

Debugging is part of the Alpha. The number one reason why Bf3 has claimed a spot in my heart till the Standalone comes out. Also this happens regardless of if its the same server or if its another server he is logging into. Debugging will happen and has been a known issue with most hives for a while now.

An anonymous source told me that it was scheduled for release in the beginning of 2013. Although you are correct in rocket saying November, but since we have been provided with so few pictures/videos along with information I hate to say it but next year looks more realistic.

My Official server and I paid for the game... So regardless of how you think I should enjoy the game I am going to continue playing it how I want to.

I server hop all the time. Love server hopping the prison area for loot. But then i got my own server and have since decided that its easier to reset the server to refresh the loot then it is to server hop or pick up the loot and move it.
