Those map areas are undeveloped. I thought converting that area into more fleshed out coast line and centering the map would allow for a more realistic back drop than staring out into oblivion. It would prevent people from driving off the map. It would prevent people from hoarding vehicles at those locations. Would allow for twice the number of spawn points.
-
Replace the barren areas north and west with more coast line so its an island

I was thinking more like a last stand, king of the hill sort of place where pvp players could converge. I wouldn't want npc guards. Strong players scavenging for the best gear while severely out numbered by zombies would be enough action. If there was an evacuation most people would be evacuated to a safe zone which in a worst case scenario becomes the epicenter for violence. It also has a great vantage point for spotting vehicle hoarders.

A large military base with better spawn ratios of the best gear rather than tin cans High end working vehicles like black suvs and atvs. Zombies spawn in very large mobs 100 per entrance and shamble towards the center. Similar to the green mountain broadcast a signal can be picked up on the same radio frequency at the ne and nw air fields to give the bases coordinates. Idealy this would encourage pvp to move off the coast and create a more challanging area for scavenging and pvp. The location would be the mountain top at (74,12),(73,12),(72,12)

Looking for some team players for Zombie Survival and Shenanigans. The Shenanigans will be discussed in further detail at a later point in time. If you say yes to ALL of these criteria send me a pm and bump this thread or throw me some beans. Older than 21 ? Are you exceptional at FPS games ? HeadShots ? 80,120 is Prigo ? Do you have a seance of humor ? 420 ? Can you find some engine parts? Do you use team speak ?

ok this order is what worked for me. Step . 1 First I used to dayz commander to update everything Then I did this Step 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzYFJ_i-SWA Then I did this but I copyed both files: BEClient:108kb and BEServer 160kb Step 3. When I did the third step without doing the second step it had no effect I still got 5000 ping Second time around I did it in this order and it worked. Upon the first connection I got the battle gui number display it seemed to start to lag again then I clicked ok. It took a little longer than usual but once the game was loaded everything was back to normal. Game Runs again Hope this helps.

Each time a new battle eye update comes out I have the same problem. Battle eye needs new version. Updates to newest version. ID calculated. long number with letters in it Then I get 5000 ping. I have tried reinstalling the entire game. using steam to reinstall battle eye. Manual update from battle eye website. replace the battle eye files for client and server in arma and operation arrow head. 1st time to fix it i had to flat out reinstall the entire game. 2nd time tried full reinstall didnt work, tried all the battle eye reintalls didnt work then I got lucky somehow I was on a server where battle eye didnt seem to be updating played for an hour and it magically fixed itself. 3rd time now this 1.74 tried all the reinstall battle eye tutorials still getting 5000 ping. Does anyone know exactly what is going on?

How will Hive effect standalone.
Dolo_420 replied to Dolo_420's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Server based: Well if bunkers are saved to the server when people logg into the server they would be stationary and raid-able which brings us back to pan-dimensional warfare. Hive based: Where as hive saved bunkers, maybe only accessible while the client is online, the battle would stay more 1 dimensional since the loot is being tracked with the client. Given the amount of time and resources it would take to construct bunkers and vehicles it makes me curious of how saving will be implemented. -
How will Hive effect standalone.
Dolo_420 replied to Dolo_420's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I may be wrong about this but... I thought they were making changes to the engine for the standalone release that will prevent scripts altogether. These " scripts " are only possible because this is a mod of a game that allows scripts. The standalone open-beta product being polished for this game would have those options removed altogether because they were so easily exploited in alpha testing. -
We have a hive that saves player data. By not having safe areas to save vehicles tents and equipment, coupled with the mechanic to easily move between world spaces the hive creates a Pan-dimensional battlefield. Will this dynamic be preserved in the standalone? Or will it be a more of a survival time sim where logging out means instant player death or your body can be killed and looted while sleeping in tents over night? I'd like to see some sort of client side, player designed, base structures, where you can safely build a custom bunker for your loot and vehicles that would save with the client like the player inventory does now. But I'm not sure what the consensus is for how the standalone will work with respect to hive saving. Will it be a game where you can't save anything so each time you start with nothing? Safe Client Side Bunkers ? Same as it is now just without hackers?

I don't think it's from the arma 2 updates I did a clean install seems to be battle eye.

I have done a clean install of the game. Everything loads fine. I can play with no problem. Then in the corner it says something like updating 1.170 It prints a random ID number and about 5 seconds later my ping jumps to 3000.

It wouldn't be a set collectible, just a difficult to obtain trinket that has a few uses. I figured spawning the zombies from picking it up would add to the difficulty of obtaining it. Could just be a coincidence that when people pick them up large hoards of infected roll through.
