What the fuck? Where's the persistence?
Jorden replied to D3lit3's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't understand what you're mad about. Are you assuming that barricades and tents should be persistent too? How would you like it if you were traveling through a town, and then, all of a sudden, you're stuck inside a barricade that someone created on another server? -
Friday night - anyone wanna play?
Jorden replied to Skeffington's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is in no way, answering what he was asking. -

[SOLVED] Dependent on a file that is missing: dayz_code
Jorden replied to Marco DeSoule's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Assuming you have a steam copy 1) Make sure the @DayZ folder is located in steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead 2) File structure should look like: @DayZ/Addons (This is inside the root folder for ARMA2:OA) 3) Set the launch parameters for operation arrowhead as: -mod=@dayz -nosplash 4) Launch the game as "Launch Arma2:Combined Operations" -
I just hope publicity like this won't open the flood gates for more "LOL BANDIT 4 LYFE XDXD" players.

Falling Damage/Breaking of the Legs NEEDS to be triggered less
Jorden replied to Powell (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Think of it this way. You are carrying large amounts of gear which is weapons, food, tools, and equipment. All this stuff can over encumber a person, so falling down with this stuff can cause sprains, breaks, and twists. -
Just watched your highlight, that's freaking crazy, would've loved to see something like that!

Any tips on finding repairable vehicles?
Jorden replied to eel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've seen a heli spawn east of green mountain, and a UAZ at the camp in Stary Sobor. -
You, you and you. You are all part of the problem.
Jorden replied to The Killing Joke's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What we really need is a sense of humanity in this game. Not in the sense of some sort of meter, but in the form of "Wow, I'm really taking this guy's life just for a can of beans. I really don't care how hard he worked to survive that long". This is the sense of morals I think most players need, instead of treating this like "lol I took ur stuff noob" -
That is supposed to be the overall feel of this mod. The feeling of anxiety, fear, worry. But we also need the feel of bliss, accomplishment, and happiness sometimes. If we can just hit something in the middle, this could be the best damn zombie apocalypse survival simulator ever made.

Why do you people have a problem with bandits?
Jorden replied to Maedis's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I actually wanted to get mad but you sort of prove a point. They are there as a hazard really. I do not promote the removal of bandits, I never said that. There's just so many in terms of survivor:bandit ratio, which is probably around 1:3. -
Why temperature may help bandit skin removal
Jorden replied to hazzard65's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Came in this thread to read a funny OP. Left scratching my head at the silence of the lambs references. Well played. -
It was a flawed system honestly. But it gave a little incentive as to which characters murdered in cold blood. Although it was wrong about 30% of the time. Honestly this is why I was lone wolf.

Please help me find barracks at the NW Airfield?
Jorden replied to eel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If you're traveling alongside the firestation, go north along the strip. It should be there right before you hit the treeline -

Another person not understanding my post. Protip: It was about TRUST. I have no argument with the zeds (Although the running mechanics are odd) I have no argument with food and water system other than it shouldn't consistently drain even when logged out. I have no argument with the choice of weapons or loot. My ONLY argument is other players. This mod community has really been thrown through a loop. Ever since it's hit articles such as PC Gamer and Kotaku, it's attracted 12 year olds who think they need to kill on sight. You know what's fun? Grouping up with others and chatting together. You know what isn't fun? Getting shot at on sight for no apparent reason, which has happened countless times. -

It's possible to create your own face and accessorize it. Other than that I haven't heard of anything myself.

You do not understand the issue at hand at all. The issue is, we knew who was going around murdering people for sport. It was functional. It kept the peace between trustworthy players and murdering scum. Sure there was the issue with random survivors PK'ing others, but it was manageable if we knew who was doing it consistently for the wrong reasons. Now we have no idea who is going around doing this at all and it causes a huge trust issue for everyone. -

This Is Best Game I've Ever Played
Jorden replied to Strategos (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's brutal, but rewarding. It's scary, but blissful at the same time. It's damn brilliant. -
Honestly, you sound like an upset bandit who didn't get a cheap kill.
-
I have to agree with what he said about the bandit skins. It was a better way to punish players for murdering for "boredom". I'm always fearful of others players and play more of a lone wolf style. Taking this away really hurts my trust with any player honestly and if I feel threatened, I will more than likely stand my ground. I had a hard enough time trusting people before the change, now I can't trust anyone.
