So I noticed today the server I play on shows my location on the map. The server is labelled as veteran but meh not reet bothered. making my way into berezino I noticed the map showed the orange dots people are talking about and each was labelled as "man", these orange dots WERE players. they passed me moments later on the main road. Now I aint so keen on this feature as anyone who knows of this ability has a cheap way to gain an advantage. I understand it may not always reflect people location but even if it does so some of the time it's a feature that I wasn't aware of. also when I jump of my ATV it shows on the map for a good 5 minutes or so . please tell me this is only visible to me!!!!!!!!!

I guess I play as a murderer then. I kill everyone I can on sight. I take my fair share of deaths too. some say it's murder because I am killing for fun. I argue I kill for the kicks of recording a kill, for the hunt itself, for in inevitable loot. damn even a chap running thru electro with no weapons on show is still worth shooting down on the premise he may well have some loot I can make use of and 99% of the time, they do, even if its just bandages, One mans loot is another mans survival ? I don't pretend to be friendly,nor do I wish to coop. Whats the problem ? -

this dos need some attention. I have recently been looking for a new server to call home and the amount of buildings secured off with wire is just silly, The problem is perhaps compounded by the lack of toolbox spawns at the moment as they are few and far between in my experience. make the toolbox a more commons spawn ? perhaps make a tool box required to fix up vehicles, it has logic to it. make placing wire require toolboxes ? -

eu40 is plagued by a constant stream of cheating accusations in game, I spent 2 hours on there earlier and had to leave in the end thanks to the people constantly throwing accusations back and forth about numerous players. why do you guys even have the chat enabled, I thought it was removed in the last patch. Server admin may do well to remove the chat to improve his server as the small snapshot i got of his server today was not a healthy or friendly environment, more of a cheaters playground or a server populated by 12 year olds. -

deserves to be quoted untill it's acknowledged, good post sir. Devs, mods, and all authority involved would do well to appriciate that watching said server admin take the piss at our expense and us as mere players having practically no chance to prove abuse, does sting a little. I understand mods/devs are busy people. but if you can not enforce the rules you set to server admin then perhaps review the current rules to better compensate ? -

I was just having a cheeky poke Legacy :) I think people need to remember players like myself are roleplaying in game. I don't often roleplay in games but this one prompted me to by making me appear as a bandit to everyone the first times I shot someone. I took to it like a duck to water and won't change now unless forced to. I wish the game would make me appear as a bandit to everyone I meet, so they know on contact. that way I have concequences for my actions. perhaps if my only alternate method for cheap killing people who mistake me as friendly would require me finding alternate clothes to replace my bandit looks. I can understand why people are getting beefed at getting shot on sight by people when they have no way of reading their intentions. the heartbeat thing is a nice idea but it fails because: 1. it requires you to have your target in your sights and register the heartbeat. 2. innocent friendly players can be portrayed as bandits because of killing bandits previously. people attemtping to play the game with either minimum pvp or at least wanting to only shoot bandits should be prompted to do so and given more help identifying us bandits from the crowd. it would help boost teamwork and make choosing to be a bandit actually have repercussions.(some at least) hope this post is considered relevant to the topic. if not just remove it. -

Legacy being terrible again and again. you title your post with codkiddies then claim ther shall be no go back to cod talk. you expect a discussion to take place about pvp without the word carebear. lemme just point out , those against pvp are carebears. they want a coop pve game minus the pvp. each to their own tbh, the game needs to cater for both to double it's crowd. eliminate either and you lose a chuck of your fan base and one of the key elements I adore. since when has pvp required a soloution ? it's a feature. a key one. the single main selling point of this game to me is probably the mixture of Player vs environment and non consensual player vs player. I am sick to death of games holding my hand, generic title number 332 trying to sell itself to me, co-oping with my m8's against AI, or playing online in some cruddy player vs player arena with super focus on non stop action. there is a market for more games with a sandbox incorporating both aspects imo, Also would like to point out I take so much more pleasure in killing another player for knowing it has hurt him. We have all played battlefield and cod titles where you point your cursor at a target and fill him with bullets forcing him to respawn and you to gain some points. thats not enough anymore. I want to know I have caused some hardship by killing another player. Dayz does this well. you die, you lose your things and depending on how northern on the map you are it can take considerable time to recover from your death. that right there is a hook, and one of the best hooks in gaming to date in my humble opinion. game with hooks like that are damn few and far between :) -
Sidechat and broken bones sidechat is different on every server at the moment. some are kicking for using it. some have it disabled favouring direct chat, some servers provide a constant stream of chat. you obviously know how to change the chat channel so just experiment when you join a server. I do believe Rocket intends direct chat to be the only form of communication in game somewhere in the future. the rest of your experiences are just new player syndrome m8. don't feel bad and don't be detered. Some tips I would give. Read the new player discussions on these forums. play thru the arma tutorial. even just the basics so your comfortable in your own characters movement. don't figh zeds in the open. Regarding your problems with morphine. Make securing some your priority. zeds are buggy at times and will break your bones with a single fluke hit. I personally think we should start with a single morphine injector while in Alpha. breaking your bones walking thru a doorway a long way north on the map is possibly my most frustrating experience in game to date. learn the locations of hospitals or be vigilant for morphine spawns. If i have none in my backpack I am basically playing avoidance untill i get some. everything else you mentioned, or more specifically zed management will come to you with practice. enjoy your learning curve :)

Having just sailed the full length of the coast kamenka to furthest point north (near north east airfield) . I spotted 6 boats on my journey. all just sat along the coast. some bobbing in the water. some (the dingy ones) were on the beach and thery refused to get back in the water (so i killed them with my mighty axe!) what happens to boats when destroyed ? I destroyed every boat i found as it was put to me some time ago that each vehicle *anytype* fills a vehicle slot on the server. each server has a limited total number of vehicle slots and by destrying boats there is a chance to respawn a car in it's place for example ? is this correct ? only i was also under the impression that vehicles respawned wherever they were destroyed,, like for like ? confused.... destroying boats with an axe is hard work and I for one do not recomend it to anyone sane. :) -

All mele weapons I equip appear to be invisible in my inventory ? I can take one from a tent for example which shows the axe leave my tent but they then vanish. It returns back to my tent if I equip a pistol ? (Have tested on many updated servers all same result) I assume I simply need an inventory wipe but starting new character didn't fix it nor did emptying my shizzle into a tent so perhaps it has to be done by you Rocket. Love the update personally. Food and drink are available but perhaps not quite as readily as before. Starting without weapon makes for some very tense situations. Was in the process of checking the deer stands at the southern Airstrip but got interupted by 2 guys running in with a trail of zeds in tow. Zeds stopped at the gates but the 2 guys basically ran at me weilding friggin axes lol. I got chopped to pieces after doing a few laps while screaming like a girl ! Zeds didn't seem much tougher to me. They still die to one AKM shot to the body. They hurt me more now if they are left to beat on me but so they should. The only negatives i took from hours of gameplay last night would be the changes to the noise/vision systems. I feel like I have less ability to sneak, despite trying damn hard, no one wants to have to prone crawl everywhere. Running/ be it crouch run or sprint: concrete roads shoots your sound and vision levels up to max so whats the point of crouch run ? it just didn't feel right :/ Quickly too have you altered anything with distant gun sounds in the last week(s) I find it more and more difficult to distinguish if a gunshot has come from my left or right. Winchester is particularly mullfed sound which just seems to eminate from everywhere rather than the direction it was fired from. (This could just be something I messed up at my end and don't know it I guess.) -
I can confirm Tents are much easier to place now and the dupe that was happening before is still present but in a different form. Previously you spammed the button to place the tent on the ground and the game would duplicate (how ever many extra key presses you made trying to place the tent) as extra tents into your inventory. Now: if you spam the placement button to erect a tent the tent Duplicates on the ground instead of in your backpack. Ie: I placed 2-4 tents directly on top of one another leaving some very bizzare looking tents. It's then possible but buggy to take each tent down and pick back up = duping the single tent you had into multiple tents. Hope this helps !!

My heart goes out to rocket today. He has obviously worked hard to bring us the next installment of this alpha while having to deal with plenty other shenanigans . It's not working as he intended, anyone who follows his posts knows this. Yet people just keep posting this tripe about how bad things are. We are all Alpha testers. Anyone posting nonsense without at least reading what has been said already really should hold off playing and posting until beta or more. Cmon guys your here to test not get upset because things don't work correctly. Enjoy what we have and support Rocket and his team. Posted from a terrible phone with a tiny keyboard.
