So yeah, I took a break from DayZ for about half a year, literally last time I played was maybe after christmas. So I saw all those new things they've added to the game, and I thought its aboutt time I came back to the game, seeing as the standalone is about to come out. I download oa/arma2, installed, pick a server, bayum, global banned. wat.

This idea actually came to thought, when a huey was taken down on elektro. So heres what I thought, that would actually really make sense, and require people working together to fix it. You know when its late at night, and you just have a fresh new spawn, and if your lucky, your in pitch darkness in elektro, with nothing but a flashlight. And hey, we all know the flashlight is useful, and it helps looking around for any zombies or gear around blocks and shizzle. But, even with that, its still hard to see, isnt it? Now, lets look at daylight for a second. Everyday @ DayZ, you are preparing for survival, for both day and night. During day, you get all the food you can find, some weapons, and you head out for your safety, then maybe, if your one of the friendly ones (doesint matter, just an example) you happen to make some friends and build a camp site, to chill there for the day. (this might be 99% of the things you never do, its just an example) But after a while, your ready for the day ahead, got some food, got a camp, got some vehicles, and now the night. Most people say, no night vision goggles, gg, nothing to do. (one of the examples most seen) But, what if, you could temporarily enable the power in the cities, towns, etc, for a bit of time? What I mean by that, is; During Daytime, why not team up with a couple of pepole, or even do it solo, prepare the city for the night ahead from the zombies, or even bandits? Obviuosly this wouldnt be an easy thing to do, but lets take elektro for example. All of us are familiar with the Factory in elektro, mainly of the firestation there, but nobody cares about the factory right next to it, its just a landmark. So why not, if you got some extra time on you, and want to prepare the city, you have to fetch a toolbox, and the industrial parts, to fix up the generators for the night, and enable the street lights for a few hours, until it runs out of energy (which jerrycans might be used to refuel or so) This way, theres way more stuff to do for the night for everyone, no matter if you dont have a light source. But when it comes to small towns, such as, erm, lets say starry, or even kamenka, there would be small generators, that would only require some parts, that could be fixed quicker than in major cities, such as elektro, cherno, berenzino, or even nwa. Well, thats all I gotta say, prolly messed up at some points, cause its pretty late here, but lets hope everything makes sense, cause I actually had a talk with of my friends about; what would the first thing you do in a momment like dayz in real life?, believe it or not, but after getting all the supplies I need, I would try to restore the power within the streets, if I knew how. XD

the following topic is quite awkward, but its actually true. Well, yesterday I cooked some meat, which tasted badass, and I muched it up most of it. Unfortunetly, there was to much for me, so I had to leave some for today. I come home after a long day and hourless nonsense, I open mah fridge, and eat the leftovers of what was left from yesterday, cause I couldnt be bothered making anything for myself. 2 hours later, at this momment when im writing this message, my head hurts like fu*k, and with realisation, somehow overnight the meat rothed abit, it makes sense cause the raw meat in my fridge was there for less than a week now, was supposed to expire today if Im right. How does this link to DayZ: This might be a hard thing to make, and most likely pointless, but the thing I like about DayZ, that it sets the Zombie Apocalypse into a real life sitation, a simulation basicly. So my suggestion would be, whenever dem' survivors cook the meat, or even keep the raw meat for ages, I know some, such as me, who keeps the meat in my atv for over a month. So it would make sense for some food products to roth away. Reason for this suggestion; Thats what would happen in real life, enough said. As Dean said, hes trying to make the game as realistic and hard as possible. Guess running to look for food more often makes more sense. EDIT: This was meant to be for the Standalone Version :D

It actually makes alot of sense. Heres a point that everyone will agree; Civilian Clothing > Easy to spot in a forest when running by. Ghillie Suit > Blends with the nature, sometimes you run past em if your not paying attention. Point is, he has a good point. Shoes would make an excellent installment in the game, making more of a challenge when going inside a town, or even a forest.

I saw some servers have a Side Channel enabled, Im guessing its not permanently removed, only lack of a code in the config? Im possibly wrong, so would appreciate a reply, cause Im hoping to enable it. :D

I tried writing that, only thing that changed the server was no longer listed on the serverlist until I added that line back. I asked the owner of a server with a side channel, he said that most likely I gotta add something?

Any chance you know what code / line I gotta change / add?

Well I just bought a server for DayZ, and wondered if its possible to add a password to your server? Cause we mainly bought it so me and my friends could play it, but once I bought it, I heard about private hive, and public hive shizz, and we didnt have that option. So yeah, Any hints and tricks on the cfg? :D

Haha, this aint no hate or nothing topic, just a story that gave me a slap to the face. I was playing on a server with more than 20 people or so, and I was starting to go really low on food, and I was around elektro. So I head down on a hill to look around if there arent any bandits, coast was clear. Now personally, Im not that kind of guy that kills everyone he sees, I only kill when I gear gunshots coming towards me, or the person is causing threat to me from his 'body language' But I saw a guy getting chased by 20 zombies through elektro, and he was bleeding, I was on the second floor of the offices, wearing a ghillie suit, as50, and other goodies. But he spotted me, and started shouting 'Please help me, Im new at this game and I dont know where to find a gun', when he said that, he broke his leg and dropped on te floor, so I started shooting at the zombies, trying to get them off him. Once they got killed, I quickly went down and dragged his body while he was passed out, I bandaged him, gave him morphine, and he stood up. At first I thought I might have found an ally to join my little gang on the server, and he asked me if theres any chance I could help him get a start at the game, luckily for him, there were loads of nice stuff in the offices, so I managed to get him a compass, a czheck bag, and a makarov, as soon as I told him heres a secondary for you, while I was looking for more stuff for him, I started to get sprayed by him, and got killed. That really really piss*d me off. Luckily for me, that guy was actually new to the game, I managed to spot him in the general store. Grabbed a revolver, and assaulted him from all entries of the shop with my friends. MAN DOWN. But yeah, its just a reminder, not every survivor that sais hes new, wont be friendly to you. So if your a guy like me that likes helping out people, get them some gear, and move out :D

Well, duh, not every time they will grab a gun and start shooting you. My last sentance was a matter of 'figure of speech' ;p

*NOTE; sometimes you get kicked by the server, due of high ping, or so. Happened to me once when I was on a bike, I fixed that glich by pressing V to do the jump. :D Worked for me.

I gotta add something about this server, I was actually killed with my squad next to elektro (alright, we knew we were killed fairly at that time, there were 10 people on the server), some of us spawn near kamenka, others near otmel. 5 minutes later, all of us get killed by the coast on both areas. Qoincidence? At the same time, by the same people (there were us 4 and 6 of them, a clan I suppose) Point is; they are teleporting.
