  1. zombies still seem to find me from very far away, and nothing I do can make them loose sight of me. Also, tried to pick up a crowbar with crossbow equiped, while I was being chased into a house by zeds. got the message "Not enough room in your inventory to equip." Awesome. Needless to say I died. Couldn't equip fast enough.
  2. I've read in a recent interview, that Rocket wants to add the ability for players building their own cabins sometime in the future. Which I think is awesome. But, I think it would be even cooler if had the choice to build small underground bunkers as well. Imagine having all your guns, mounted onto a wall to showcase Also, I don't know how Rocket intends for us to build our cabins, but if if it involves us farming materials from a lumber yard, then theres no reason why we can't do the same with concrete bags and scrap metal from industrial areas.

    Is it possible to fix the flashlight animation when crouch-walking, so that you point the flashlight forward when your moving?

    [ Hi Rocket!! I believe I've mentioned the Rifle Butt animation in Arma before. (I'm sure you know this already) Could this be a working option for allowing melee without losing/replacing you primary weapon?? I'd be interested to know if this was considered and prevented by a technical issue? Tying the riflebutt attack as a "F" key option might be the best of all worlds, allowing for a stealth attack while still retaining the capability of use your main weapon.... I had this same exact idea. Zeds are like brick walls when standing in a doorway. And, there's no way to get around them if you run out of ammo.

    Not really a bug, but a problem with the ghillie suit is that your two handed weapon sticks out like a soar thumb, while unequiped, and looks very unnatural. Shouldn't it be hidden instead?

    Why are wood bundles still being spawned as loot drops? Please, take them away. they served their purpose, but now are just taking up a loot drop spot away from something actually useful like food, water, or ammo. Or are the two not mutually exclusive? Either way, they're an eye soar.

    Containers - Where did they go?

    I like the idea someone had that higher tier loot should be stored in wooden boxes, and that we need the crowbar or axe to bash them open.

    What's the status on traps? Last week you hinted they would be in the next update. Which has come and gone. Can we look forward to it in 1.8?
  10. We need a unarmed action to temporary daze a zed, or knock him to the ground (especially since we're spawning without a weapon now.) There's been many occasions were I've run out of ammo, trapped inside a single doorway building, and a single zed is standing the doorway blocking the exit. There is no way to get past him. He's like a brick wall. And worse yet, I know more zeds are on their way. If only we had the ability to perform a shoulder slam, or a kick to the mid-section to knock the zed down or back, we could make a getaway. Also, a self defense maneuver would be valuable when trying to buy an extra second to reload your weapon, or move ammo from your backpack to your main inventory.

    One problem I've been running into for multiply builds is when I go into a small town with 5 zombies and I accidently aggro one. I end up having to take out around 30 of them before they stop coming. Where did the other 25 zeds come from? It would be nice to know how many zeds are actually in a town before taking the risk of going there.

    Build 1.7.1 Rolling Update

    Woah Woah Woah people. None of these new features are permanent. Rocket can just as easily remove them as he did add them. If you don't like a new feature provide constructive feedback, rather than saying "feature x sucks" or "Thanks for ruining the game rocket!" Some of the complaints I've read, Rocket has already said will be fixed in a hotfix, or the next update. Patience people.
  18. Everyday it seems like all the major gamer sites have a new article on dayz in some form or fashion. Granted, its an amazing mod. I love it. But, there's only around 230,000 users right now. You would think the mod has millions of users with all the press coverage its getting. I'm just wondering at what point all the coverage starts having a reverse effect where people start hating it just because its becoming "hipster" in a sense. Like that cool indie band who everybody raves about but in reality dosent have a big following. How long before all the hype dies down? Its showing no signs of slowing down on steam sales, but at some point its going to reach its ceiling. How many users you think that's going to be? 400,000? 1 million?...
  19. I think you both missed my point. Or maybe I didn't express it correctly. I'm not upset that it became so popular, and that I want it all to myself. Far from it. I'm fearful of the inevitable backlash that will come from dayz becoming so popular so quickly. It happens in pop culture all the time. And, I'm wondering if the over saturation in the media lately, is that tipping point for dayz.

  22. I've had this idea for a couple years, but never had the coding knowledge to attempt it. I think it would fit perfectly into dayz. During the day time, you and your clan would run around collecting food, ammo, and supplies, pretty much how dayz is right now. But, with the addition of collecting building supplies like razor wire, generators, petro cans, flood lights, fences, sandbags, claymores and parts to build fortifications. I imagined the center piece of your base being a huge tower (like the ones in the marsh area from stalker clear sky/ fast foward to 4:59). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0uIY-LNX-w The reason you’re collecting all these supplies is setting up a base for the night time to defend yourself from wave after wave of zeds. Not being in a base at night would be suicidal. I imagined having only certain areas for setting up the base like in an open field. (I think it would be cool to see another group in the distance going through the same horror as you and knowing there's nothing you can do to help them.) Vehicles would be used to ferry supplies back and for to your base before the night comes. Mind you, while you’re collecting all these supplies you still have the pvp element to deal with. You’re going to be fighting over the same resources as everyone else. Or you could be more diplomatic and barter with other factions (Up to your play style). One major sticking point, another group can’t raid your base and steal supplies. Once the material has built into your base, it can’t be taken apart by another group only zeds can cause damage to your structure. I mean, a guess if you wanted to you could make it that other groups can steal supplies from your base. But, then you would have to leave people behind to defend it, and that would get kind of boring after a while if no one was attacking you. I see the night time as being strictly pve. This is when you spend all your time working with your group, defending yourself from the wave of zeds. After the night’s over and you managed to survive, you repeat the process over of re-arming yourself, replacing damaged building materials, and preparing for the next nightfall. What do you guys think?
