    speed should be linked to number of items, size of back pack is irrelevant when you have nothing in it

    average bullet count for zombie death and survivor death. how many bullets fired for each per kill. head shot count is nice but often it is the second bullet that is the head shot for me just wandering and self sufficient players versus beans and cola players, those who live off the land and those who rather loot those numbers are interesting to me maybe not for others maybe map which pastures (fields areas with wild life) are more consumed than others

    no why not set up your group of archivists and do it in a sub forum with a mod and maybe have it read only for non archivists, but NO to POLITICS ! a game of total freedom and what do people suggest... a parliament, like the thing that will in time eat your freedoms like beans as they gut you like a cow. @ dallas, come to holland the land of taxed prostitution, smoking costs a fortune and guns are here, but only criminals have them. incl. cops.

    another way to spawn

    the beach is all fine and dandy but really have we all come from sinking ships washed up on the shore with our pistols ? i like the disorientation at first but it is getting a bit old ? (run back to friends along the same route and have the feeling, did i die ?) maybe i am just nagging it but i think dropping in from a parachute would be fun, giving you a small overview and a new perspective i don't know if it would be the steerable chute or just the static one but i think it would be nice just to drop in anywhere, this would also ease up the coastal towns and cities and bring more life to the whole of the country, maybe have a spawn as zombie when killed by a zombie this would bring zombies in the fields as you can explore and hunt at the same time ? so what is your take on this ? or are you happy with being spawned at the sea as is ?

    have you ever been on a survival trip ? or imagined a real survival situation ? logging out or sleeping takes time to prepare a save shelter and a secure place, if you do that in game you can lay down for hours, without some one finding you. what is the problem ? snipers lay down for a long time and don't get spotted, so what is the problem with a few seconds ? just know where to log out and be secure before you log out. simple survival training more basic than handling a gun if you ask me. see the plus to it, some noob idiot DC's in a firefight, you go to his body and have his beans.
  7. for those who don't see a group of random people work together and fixing things in real life, please get out of the chair and go outside, go to a pub where working class people go and find a mechanic or maintenance guy / gal to talk to and find out, in my circle of friends i got guys who build their own trucks and motorcycles, guys who do their own electrical stuff in their houses and such, why does any one think tinkering is difficult in a world where a lot is up for grabs and no legal enforcement who says this is not save enough, you need to add airbags etc.. there are other hobbies than gaming and internet porn....

    Zombie Play

    this would also help with the zombie "AI" experience because then there would be zombies wandering off in the fields and do the things zombies now would not do (just make it so that aggro function only kicks in within the range of a survivor) edit for little suggestion where are the female zombies ? were all women evacuated prior the zombie outbreak ?
  9. i would like to see this happen so much because then we can have the NVGs and flashlights go dead so you need to recharge them and people will need to turn the light on no matter which side, just those who want their flashlights and nvg to work again (i would say spawn them empty if this electrical option is available)

    it is not just cowards, it is general survival tactics, you just don't go to sleep in a zombie world, you plan it. maybe i am pushing it ?

    i think (too much) for all forms of logging out your in-game body needs to remain on the field for like 1 to 5 minutes in a sort of sleep mode (kill-able or not ?) so you need to think of an exit strategy prior to any disconnect making sure you were not followed etc. the player might disconnect directly but the body remains
  13. how many hours have you (anyone) spend on the MOD ? (it is alpha so you could not say you actually play it as you are a test bed) this is technically a free thing for you to do, buying arma 2 to do so is on your own account. i would say it is very generous to have an open alpha because the community as a whole has some form of input in it, rather than being a beta where most things are set and there are only bugs to find. would this become a standalone then so what ? you "played" for free and in that had your say in the development how ever slim that might be, you contributed and that is worth more than money. those who think that is not true, you miss some essential core information of life, money or luxury or any of that does not make life great, experience and sharing does. hell if it came out stand alone on the arma 3 engine i would have to upgrade this rig and buy the game to experience it again, but if i like that experience i could care less because i show my gratitude to those who enrich my life. no one forced you to buy or will force you to buy, it is just you who WANTS, a computer game is never a need. (in real survival a game or form of game can be a need though) (sorry if my writing reads / sounds harsh, thinking of people whining about money just pisses me off)
  14. last week thursday or friday me and a friend were in polana shop and both got sniped but we knew we were sniped, as we heard the sound of the bullet crack but with lag you might not notice that this was also on nl2 i believe (could have been nl4) it is a haunted place i know that.... some one set up shop in polana and uses the supermarket as bait

    if you make it harder people who have no knife will for sure go (p) ©oastal surviver hunting even more, just because of the beans (and their unwillingness to survive in the country side where there are no/few people to kill)
  17. the generators are already there i believe (models) in the towns (maybe not all towns) having such a system of power grids would be fun, it would be like road flares but with normal lighting giving it more lively feel to the world the big generators would be nice if you have large groups, and yes they should be possible if there is to be any light at night make them hum and attract zombies, maybe aggravate them so they are more alert ? it may give you more comfort when there is street light but it is less comfortable to walk there ? maybe let zombies spawn from the closed houses to make it equally or more difficult ? (edit for missing sentence)

    class system via the humanity system ? and rather than a reskin maybe a small patch on the arm or backpack ? you still decide what to do and when but you grow in to a class rather than choose it

    ACE-like inventory system

    i think the ace system would fit dayz especially for those who travel light, like starting survivors and those more experienced and more packed. survivors might out run some Z's and then learn the hard way when they over pack :D maybe more cue's for fainting system so you can decide to drop gear on the run like a cough or two

    a tarp or a poncho which has dual use as shelter and rain cover when walking ?
  22. how about just fixing local power generators ? (those blue generators on wheels) it does not light up the whole country but just a small town or part of town ? maybe have the lights break when shot at, till server restart ?

    less likely to shoot female survivor?

    if this game offers realism then female skins / women should be there, can't see the problem other than people who do not want them feel disappointed if the put them in. if the rule is, "trust no one", then skins don't matter and since they are considering, if not already have, women in combat groups (armies all over have them, mostly not in combat) in real life, i see no real valid excuse
