problem: in all shooters you control a floating camera with a glued gun. It could be compared to controlling the head / eyes in arma you control the torso! big difference... -
is there another engine that can hangle a realistic map?

just pretend itts always fullmaps but detroyed not usable for some areas so you need to find more copies.. would be cool to have some marks on them aswell..

I use the thickness of the scope compare with shoulder width. when the palyer is more width than the black bar its near 200-300m if its thinenr 400-600m i can 1 shot 500m running zombies... after some time you get the feeling for it, the size of the player in the scope gives you a pretty good idea of the range...

when humans where apes and we lived among animals, lions and illness and other dangers could be seen as zombies. we didnt kill us back then.. it was approx 100.000 years ago..

How long will server be online when Respawn is enabled? will there be enough time (months) for geocaching? or could there be some "item" hive for servers?

nice, it shows how important sounds are. 1 eyes : 1 sounds should be considered 50 : 50 in effort / quality / diversity... maybe we can have different forrest sounds, some forrests have more birds some less cause factory is near stuff like that.. also more diversity in weather: more wind less wind.. -

its not zoom, its because in real life we have a different field of view. without that "zoom" we have only a square window in 1 m in front of us to look through with 90 FOV... so this "zoom" is needed for realism... this discussion is so old, google it FOV Zoom arma etc -

happened to me aswell, but I protected my own me and waited till it disapeared (1 minute) - and relogged to another server -
yeah it was alright. the guy didnt answer, he ran with a melee too close he asked to be shot down!

DayZ is the only multiplayer survivor game thing where you can't carry like 10 guns, WHICH IS FANTASTIC, lets keep it this way

it violates the when I see you you see me rule and makes it impossible to scan a city when running through it cause many people could be behind walls. so instead of scanning houses and windows as it should be i just run zig zag through the city and wait behind walls.. more paranoia solution is easy: when in 3rd person, all player models are invisible... so it can be used for orientation - but not for seeing others -
you really cant compare those two games, in dayz when die its done, in SC you build up a character with heirs and wealth.
