PST (UTC-8) Looking for Bandits on Origins

Currently trying to make a stronghold with friends.

Forming squad: Looking for Mature players 21+

To my knowledge, skype really muffles sound when you have someone talking, in dayz sound is everything to me. Raidcall is simply a free TS3. Really easy to use. Your allowed 300 people in a server at first, and then when you reach 300 it increases. I'd play with you using raidcall, but not skype. Sorry, just a preference.
  3. How many are in your ranks? And do you have a website?

Forming squad: Looking for Mature players 21+

Are you a bandit? Are you willing to use raidcall? I'm 23, live in a UTC -8 time zone, but play in the mornings. That's means I'm basically on (using UTC) at about 4-11 o'clock.

    How old are you?

    Looking For A TeamSpeak Server.?

Raidcall>TS3 Try it everyone, it's seriously an impressive piece of software that isn't demanding on your computer or your connection.
  7. I had a PC that used a AMD Athlon X4 630 and Radeon HD 4890, with 1200x800 (not exactly the ratio, but I can't remember off the top of my head) and I received a consistent 30-40+ frame rate. Only went below 30 FPS with recording. The settings were default high. I do not support minimum graphic settings. At long distances it doesn't matter at all if you have "very high" or "low" settings, it still looks like crap. I always get the feeling that close combat happens with two people knowing it is happening. Because of the large view distance, far away battles take place a lot.

Hip Fire Too Good on Snipers

But there's no "hip-fire" in Arma. You are always holding your gun in stance. Just common sense man. There is sarcasm in this. Just a warning.
  9. Hey Dean, this is very off topic. But in light of all the stupid stuff people have been saying about you and your team, the font on the game, and the UI in the game, I wanted to show you this: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/16188-my-apology-to-rocket-maybe-yours-too/#entry162976 That happened a long time ago. I hope you don't remember me, and if you do, sorry again. Ever since that day where I tore you a new one and you actually replied to my complaints, I've really respected all of your work. I hope in the coming years you make the money you deserve. Until I verbally get a reply out of you, I'll just keep trying to get your attention on this. (No, I won't post in this thread again, but I'll try to contact you on your twitter or something) Ever since I said those really mean and unwarrented things, I've felt kind of bad. I hope you are having a good day and that all of the little stupid things never get to you, like us.
  10. It always seems like a pet peeve of mine, but whenever I see someone post a clan recruitment thread without a profile picture, I give them less validity. Your group is a real group no doubt, but I'm just saying, a profile pic is icing on the cake.
  11. Link or it didn't happen.
  12. It's better to promote yourself outside of your main forums area. But chances are high Dean is just a normal redditor and doesn't want to change his ways. I personally am waiting for DayZGame forums.

    Buying ARMA 2 for DayZ

You can also download the mod ON steam. It's really easy that way.

    DayZ on console

Oh God, help me. This man just created the longest sentence ever on these forums. And it doesn't flow and it doesn't use commas. Thank you for bestowing the gift of capital letters and periods to this poor soul.
  15. Give this man your beans people. Saying exactly what I'm thinking.
  16. When I first played DayZ, I was early in my college life. Easy 101 classes that didn't take any effort to be in when high school had stuffed enough knowledge into my head to pass all of it easily. But now I'm in high level classes and for sure don't see myself being able to played DayZ standalone like a mad man. My question is this: Have we heard anything from Rocket on this? I understand that the more you play a game the better you get, but I'm more worried about the base building portion of the game than anything. If I have a character that stays alive for a full month and plays for 6-8 hours a week and my friends do the same, a base building option shouldn't be too much out of the question. Last I heard Rocket wants base building to be like the end game in Eve (capital ships I think). So working on having a home for months doesn't bother me. I'm just saying is my experience going to be limited by the long halls? I use to play DayZ 4 hours a day. I'm just worried I won't get to that accomplished point I would like to be.

    Looking for group members

Time zone is what he meant. 3 hours is a big difference to some.
  18. reidloS doG

    Battle between 3 friends.

This is how DayZ is played. With utter confusion. Forget organizing, just get use to the most chaotic paranoid setting you've ever played.
  19. If it takes more than four hours, I see where you are going, but making this have no skill involved and basically just having the skill be innate is the same thing. It would become easy to do for SKILLED lock pickers. Then they would become OP. How is someone to defend against lock pickers?

    Trees ARE a problem...

Agreed. But first: Hackers. Then we will talk.

Hero In Need Of a Partner

Damn, I thought this was all serious, then I realized this post was a joke: "7 people." ........*looks at replies*......... wait one moment, you'er being serious? Taviana and Cherno are both just too big for this my friend. At least up it to 8.
  22. Did anyone listen to that hour and a half long video on the blog? He said multiple times, this whole thing is an experiment. It all might just burn and die. I'm paraphrasing that last part. @OP Rocket gave up on the mod? What right do you have to say that? Seriously though, he gave up to create a game over a mod. A dream game, the thing we have all been wanting. To address your concerns on the "everyone ends up in their own bases underground and not in the world." What is the point of playing DayZ then? You can go buy Gary's mod for that matter if you think that kind of gameplay really matters to DayZ players. But it doesn't. You do get your solo players who never see anyone and just live off the land, but I doubt these people could even acquire the materials to build a base let alone make it themselves. It should have to be a group venture to make a base, but regardless, bases are a form of safe storage. Something to call home. I played on a Vigilant Addiction Server that modded DayZ to have 4 bases above ground. At the end of every "month" the bases were open season and shit hit the fan. I know you have played DayZ Origins, but that is unlimited homes. We will most likely never know the capability of what Origins can do because the audience is so low no one could actually test the build out on a large scale. If every ten man group on the server could build a base above ground, well, you know what happens to servers with people who loot cycle on it. The game just can't handle this type of gameplay. The whole point of the game is to try and fulfill the zombie Apocalypse dream: fend for yourself and have somewhere to call home. I would love it if the base could only hold one or two people, just to make it difficult to get anything in or out of the base. But having a place to store things is not a bad idea. I'm not even for having it be lock free, a passcode system much like the one in origins would work great. With that, you could have rare batteries to run the keypad, and also have to upkeep the underground base so that it doesn't cave in. I think a underground base should be more trouble than it is worth, but to me it's worth anything. I'd labor as much as I could to put a toilet paper in the base and say, "It's safe." I see no problem with the idea above. A rare battery would mean you'd have to work to keep it, and making sure it doesn't cave in will make sure the server doesn't get overloaded with unused "underground" tents. Heck, I'd be fine IF IT WASN'T EVEN ENTER-ABLE I just want a freaking place to put my toilet paper safely.
  23. It would simply be a skill. High level lock pickers would be OP. Nothing would be safe from them. No one out there just knows how to pick locks. And it's not like there is a skill at making locks. How could someone combat against lock picking if it is a skill? The ability to fight back is important, in Skyrim, it is not.
