Hehe, you gotta good point about the location, but it might not make much of a difference. If the mod is set anywhere that people can be expected to have a surplus of personal firearms (so that survivors have something to loot), Mosin Nagants are STILL the most plentiful manual action rifle ever built. Of course, if they set the game in Canada or Europe, or somewhere else where the average citizen isn't going to have a firearm, then I will stand flabbergasted as to what guns belong in the game.

As much as I LOVE my lever guns, I'd really really love to see mosins in the game. They are : 1) One of the most plentiful manual action rifles ever made. Ever. 2) Completely suitable for the area of Chernarus. 3) Awesomely rugged, accurate (mine are more accurate than I am), cheap, hard hitting, long ranged... and have a bayonet!. Perfect Zombie Apocalypse Survival Rifle. Please pls please give us Mosins. Long ones, m44's with the folding bayonet, m38s (no bayonets sadly), I don't care, but give me my 7.62x54r! :)

I could see this mod being a pretty successful DLC for Arma 2. Personally, I know of 4 people in my little circle (hehe) that bought Arma 2 : CO solely to play Day Z with us. Arma 2 has always been somewhat popular, but this mod is giving it a needed shot in the arm and boosting sales of CO. If it's Bohemia that is interested in helping you develop Day Z into something more than a mod, then DLC is going to be a win-win for all involved.

What is all this whining about "I don' wanna be spoonfed stuff" and "waaaaaaah, it's a sandbox I don't want my freedom to be taken". There is not one, no not one post on here asking for people to be FORCED to do little side missions. Everyone that approves this is asking for neat little nuggets to enhance their day z experience. Little things that add to the atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic world. Would you guys complain about creepy music being added (it already is), or tidbits of "end of the world" broadcasts? If the answer is no, then what's wrong with adding little things to discover and expand on the story? I'd LOVE to find victim's journal, with a little note saying "I left a stash at so and so, please pray for my soul if this is ever found" and things like that. I'd also like to find newspapers detailing "THE END OF THE WORLD" and "DISEASE RUNS RAMPANT". Extra content rocks ;).

The journal idea is such a great one. To the people that poo-poo the idea of missions to add some gameplay, what would it hurt? Just make the missions voluntary, with limited rewards that you could find somewhere else at any time, and let us have even MORE fun than we are already having. I'll never say "no" to extra content, it's what makes good games great. :)

You want to stop the bandits from murdering? You want law and order? IMPOSE IT! Form a militia, a posse, a band of bandit-slayin' brothers. Go hunting for known bandits. This game has a LOT of potential. It could even end up turning into THE zombie mmo, once bigger (and MUCH more stable) servers come along. Once you can REGULARLY meet up with friends in-game, and servers have a stable population, we'll all be able to recognize names in the game, and be able to associate past actions with those names. Things that would help : A way to recognize people. Sometimes peoples names show when you look at them, and other times they don't. Frustratingly random, and having a way to identify other players at a glance (with a name over their head or under your crosshair) is a great thing. A better way to communicate. A way to form squads or factions, or clans in-game, and recognize faction members (mouse-over name colors?). A way report and keep track of known PK's, maybe with an in-game notification system like a BlueFor Pop-Up ("rumor says so and so has turned bandit!"). All little things that would enhance the game, and I look forward to seeing how this all turns out. :)

Like the title suggests, what the heck is JayArma2.lib, and why is it screwing up my attempts to play? I'm using sixupdater, so let me know if it's a sixupdater issue. Here's the deal. I tried to run the Dayz Mod, and it says that JayArma2 is not allowed, and doesn't launch the game. Then I delete JayArma2, run the sixupdater again, and it says "mod missing : JayArma2", and doesn't launch the game. What is this thing, and why is it "damned if you have it, damned if you don't"?

Each of my mods has it's very own @ folder, the six updater did a great job of that. My addons folder doesn't have any extraneous folders inside it, only what seems to be a bunch of different vehicles and whatnot. The problem still remains. It seems that "jayarma2lib" is a REQUIRED mod for the Day Z servers, because Six Updater says so. However, it is also NOT ALLOWED by the Day Z servers, so I get kicked out, or the game fails to launch. So is it a problem with "jayarma2lib"? Is it a problem with the Day Z server telling Six Updater it's required mods? Is it a problem with Six Updater misinterpreting information from the Day Z servers? I don't know, I just know I'm a Sad Kophka. :( I'm going to try doing it without Six Updater. I've thrown the JayArma mod folder out, going to see if I can just launch the Day Z by itself from my steam folder. Wish me luck!
