Noticed you didnt list a MoBo it could be the performance connection between that and your cpu. I'm not 100% on this but pretty certain that BI Studios engines are optimized for Intel components. Also windows 8...yuck. I've ran the mod and now the standalone on an SSD so I cant speak on harddrives and how they perform on the game, but much like Kajo up there it could just be the luck of the draw for you, tweeking your settings on ambient occlusion and filtering could help but not much. Try turning everything but vsync and one by one turn on features and up graphics to see if maybe you can pinpoint the one setting that drops frames. Also in the tales of the mod the rendering halo was a mass fuck stick for players causing lag issues, weird graphic spikes on screen, and even game freezes, thing is until BI Studios decides they need to borrow ideas from Valves engine makers or Bethesdas engine, we are gonna suffer a long process of trial and error from them and all their games. It's been this way since Operation Flashpoint and Cold War assault.

As a once lone-wolf of the DayZ Mod, and a former sniper for a bandit clan turned survivalist....one thing I can assure you is you will eventually come to a point in the game where you will either lose all your gear to a glitch or to a best friend turned enemy. My suggestion to you to get over this Warcraft like attachment to your gear is to get fully geared and then go to the coast and die. Do it a couple of times so you become good and desensitized to the feeling then you should snap out of the gear love, jump off some buildings after you gear or go screaming in direct comms down Elektro and let the DayZ gods do their work, only then will you lose all attachment to anything you could have picked up...and remember there's always someone out there with something better than yours, so take it! Now you know and knowing is half the battle....COBRA!

Fellow lone wolf here, a sniper of old ages. Want my advice? Get in and run as hard as you can straight into Cherno, show the world you have balls, want good loot and guns? Kill someone for them. Rub it in their face, and troll them on side chat if you can. More advice? You shoot anything that moves and until someone is on a skype call with you and has helped raise your first born dont trust em, dont look at em twice, just shoot to kill. Build yourself a camp far north, near the coast line and travel down it daily to kill again. Also side note, go ahead and build your PC ready for the stand alone and newer games...that means 600 series graphics card if you use Nvidia, a CPU with 3.3 ghz to start with no overclock, and good cooling unit for said CPU, and a full tower case to keep things cool. And one hell of a good mouse, dont want to be blaming Lag on all your deaths and missed kills now do we? :P

Me and my mate were so freaked by it and we didnt want to lose our gear or vehicle so we booked it...funny thing is we could see the dog chasing us for a sec funny to know now it could have been a player. I was too freaked to think straight, lol, next time we shoot.

So a buddy and I were traveling up far north leaving our base camp and heading to the coast, when all of the sudden while rolling through a field a dog rolls up on us....not aggressive or anything just walks up to us and checks us out. We got out to investigate it and to see if there were any players around, but nothing. So are hackers now spawning dogs in, and what would be the point of that one? Has anyone else seen this?

Do you sit and snipe Cherno or Elektro mainly? or are you guys a base making, mobile squad I guess is what I meant.

I hear tell that you're all bandits though, any truth to that?
