TS3.ZOMBZ.NET:9172 Full story: So I've been playing on an Overwatch server for the past week by Zombz.net. They run three servers and their primary server is like the number one server on Gametracker. I played Vanilla DayZ only since shortly after the release, literally. I had never played any of the dozens of DayZ variants over the past few years. When I started playing Overwatch I wanted to really check it out first and basically ignored PvP for the first week and gathered loot using stealth not just killing the person between me and my goal. This brought back a lot of the fun I've been missing in DayZ. Now that I've figured out everything Overwatch is and have myself all set up with supplies I decided I want to be a hero again. I need a player who isn't looking to just kill everyone around but isn't afraid to kill if we get caught in a bad situation. The guys at Zombz.net run 3 hived Overwatch servers that are all heavily populated pretty much 24/7. My plan is to get on their teamspeak and set up a temporary channel for people to come into if they need help. I expect some people may try to set me up because well it is DayZ after all. I'm hoping only dealing with them over teamspeak will reduce the amount of people who try to pull something but I know it can't catch them all. So I need a few people I can trust to watch my back. -Rabid

This is where a live admin just can't be replaced. Two nights ago saw a guy getting a lot of kills. Spectated him and sure enough he would just turn 180 degrees instantly then pop off 1 shot and a player would die. This was with just an M4. Through trees and brush with no problem.

I don't blame you OP, in DayZ you have only friends and enemies. There is no middle ground.

Forgive my ranting nature. You're right a lot of the players on these forums are pretty die hard and good players. But I'm referring to the players chiming in on all the bandit hate threads. So often it's a guy with 9 posts and if you look through his last 5 posts they were all on threads that he just complained about bandits. They don't contribute to the community, they don't comment on new player threads offering advice, they just come on here and complain about bandits because they aren't good enough to evade or kill them.

Let me get this right... You claim you made mods for the good of the gaming community. Simply to enhance the experience for yourself and others, not for profit. But some people have started making profit off it, and now you want some? Even though everything you made can be accessed for free still, some people have started making money off of it, but nobody is forced to use them. You make mods for the good of the gaming community, you think it's wrong that people be charged for your content. So you want almost everyone to stop using it besides the people who charge for it. You even want the people who don't charge for it to stop using it, even though they make no profit. Best part though... You, Mr. All for the community guy, now want to receive money for people using your mods. It's pathetic really, you apparently have a good record but just because you saved someone's life 5 years ago doesn't mean you're still a good guy if you murder someone tomorrow. You can't claim you made these mods for the good of the community then try to stop EVERYONE from using them unless they are going to pay you. Talk about a hypocrite.

Sorry but very far from the truth. So many terrible players rolling around with the bandit skin on. I feel much more threatened by a ghillie than a bandit.

Kill someone too quick, people hate on you. "Be a more creative bandit you KoS noob" people will say. Then you make a guy do half your work for you, you took a hostage without him knowing you could say. Got your work done in much less time and didn't instantly open fire on someone. You did what they asked, so they call you a dick. Correction, this community is composed of a few heroes, a lot of people who just like to shoot the shit, and a lot of bad players (non-KOS'ers not by choice) who hate on anyone who can outplay them. There really are a lot of bad players on these forums who just hate on anyone who can kill more efficiently than them. Most of these guys who hate all the bandits are not heroes, most of them are in bandit skins themselves I almost guarantee you. I'm not talking about the guys in this thread specifically just the bandit haters on these forums. I honestly don't understand how people have such a hard time dealing with other players, all I can come up with is that they must be very bad. I was playing an Overwatch server this week for the first time (never played anything but original DayZ before this) and I jumped on the servers TS to team up with some people. After about an hour of trying to organize (they kept dying) they decided to try a lesser populated server because there were just "too many assholes who open fire." Worst part is we were trying to meet up as a bandit group. I managed to meet up with 1 of them and gave him one of the weapons I'd collected just for him to die 15 mins later. While all this is going on I'm on my 4th day playing on that server and still on my first life fully geared. I've only had to kill a handful of people to accomplish that. And no, I did not leave server with them. That little story literally happened just as I said and just last night, I couldn't have asked for a better example. The bad players who WANT to be bandits, complain about getting shot by bandits. If you want to complain about bandits and expect people to give a shit, post your complaint with a screenshot of your humanity and you better be a hero. Otherwise you're just another bad kid complaining because he died to a better bandit than him. -Rabid

You should have told them to move MUCH further away if your plan was to take their vehicle and gear. Not having the stomach to outright blow them away is a rare thing these dayZ and I applaud you for it. But you gotta be that much more careful when you rob someone. Don't take any risks. Be 100% sure they cannot get to you before you can get away. In that situation I would have made them lay prone and crawl in the other direction and get at least 50M before I would jump in the car and bolt. You don't have to be a killer, just be a more careful Bandit. Bandit =/= Killer

Oops sorry. Still the same result though. If it's got a rotor, don't go near it in the air.

You can absolutely can, but you'll probably blow yourself up in the process. Maybe someone else has had other experiences but in all of mine two choppers making contact in the air has meant both blow up.

I've never thought of a story for my DayZ character til reading this and I'm not much of a writer but here it goes. Journal Found: Coordinates 094-114 Some blood on cover, spent cases nearby Time 0900 March 1 (I think) I don't really know what to say, I've never been one to keep a journal. Maybe once or twice when I was a kid after seeing it on TV but never for more than a few days. I figured I may as well start now though, it seems I'll have a lot of free time and need something to keep busy. I was fortunate to find this in a washed up suitcase on the shore. What shore I have no idea, I don't have the slightest idea where I am. I saw a sign briefly when running from those things, whatever the fuck they are, and it looked Russian or something like it. I'm getting ahead of myself though, I guess in a journal I should say who I am in case March 2 Those fucking things again, so fast, I never in my wildest dreams thought this would actually happen but I swear those things are zombies. One snuck up on me last time I tried to write. I don't know how he found me I was in the woods and I checked the area at least 5 times over before I sat down to write. They seem stupid but somehow always migrate towards me, it must be smell nothing else makes sense. I've moved along the coast what I think is South. There were some large hills right off the coast and I decided it would be best to get higher and away from buildings. Something in their brain seems to still cling to being around buildings, I can't help but wonder if they are staying close to what used to be their homes. I'm not really sure what to do now, I haven't seen anyone who isn't a zombie. I need food and more importantly water, I'm worried about water though, I have no idea what happened to these people and what if it's in the water? It's time to move though they are getting close. Last night the moon was almost full, I'm going to use the full moon tonight to try to sneak in that town down the coast from me. I need supplies. I'm actually at work and need to get some work down but it you guys like it so far I can keep bumping this thread periodically with more entries. Obviously a LOT of story details still missing but I know them already. I'm not a writer by any means (you can probably tell) but if you guys enjoy reading it I'll keep going.

If you don't mind me asking how do you feel the removal impacted the game negatively? I know you said not as exciting but could you explain how?
