Or make the body unavalable to loot by respawned character
-
The problem is that weapons and ammo are quite easy to find, that's why they are not that valueble and people don't care loosing them. I died, so what, I know where the helicopter crashsite is, so gonna run there and get myself another sweet gun. There are also item respawn bugs, just loot the lucrative area wait for respawn and restock yourself with good stuff, can store some in a hidden tent nearby just in case. In my opinion to make player more cautious about his character's death developers need to put emphasis on personal customisation of a character, I don't mean face, body, etc, but his skills and equipment. For example If you have a simple makaroff and you really like this gun there should be different options to modify it, make it a personal weapon, not just a simple makaroff: put in sights and adjust them how you want it, make a semiautomatic(I know it sounds like crap), or modify its rate of fire, magazines and so on. You like when you have bandages seperate from other stuff, so saw in additional pocket for 4 slots only for bandages, because you prefer it like this. This will make things not the ones you found, but the ones you made wich are much dearer to you and you'll think twice before loosing them. Another thing is to budge in a little RPG in DayZ. We don't start allknowing and supersurvivor, we need to get some knowledge and experience through time and practice. So in my opinion there should be some sort of level up system. I think of a day level up system wich shows what and how much have you done for a day of survival, what you did and what improved. You ran all day, it means you become more experienced and dexterous in running, you can run faster, longer etc. Or maybe you have been lying all day and shooting noobies in cherno with a sniper rifle. That makes you a good sniper. Or you were hiding in bushes wich makes you more stealthy and you can manage your looks to become more inconspicuous. All that personolises a character and makes him unique in some sort, and loosing him will be awful.

In my opinion voice chat is the best. Just need to regulate the volume of it due to distance or when in building\vehicle. It would be more realistic. Universalisation of chat?Hmmmmmm.......... nope.

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Embroil replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Got a couple of friends, mostly STALKER and Fallout3 players who like the postapocalyptic idea, but are bored with constant straightforward shooting and quest runing and want something more freeplay like. So I showed them DayZ (the early survival part not the NVG, DMR, skin wearing crawling killing machine), and they loved it and began constatnly asking me about it and the SA. So I just gave them link to this forum, reddit and devblog. Works for them, they read all af it and now patiently wait for the release of SA. In my opinion the only way to restrain is to give them information about what they should expect and with that information make them understand, that patience is the only option. -
Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?

I'd say that i'm looking for teaming up, making camps, or take advantage of castles and villages. Go into gang wars, have your gang wear some sort of unique identification clothing. Basic team on team PvP is kinda lame in the spirit of survival game. The poin is to make yourself capable of surviving, not capable to kill anything that moves. -

Embroil replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I want a medikit with variabels of items to cure different kinds of trauma, a selfmade weapons with and adjustable upgrades and an ability to make self made stashes, and my own base, and my own camouflagem and my own mod, and my own game, and........ does it concern all about me, tell me honestly, because I can't really tell, -
I'm sorry if this has been said but the only thing Rocket did really confirm is that SA will happen. I, by my work, perfectly understand what pressure means noy only from all sides but also high blood pressure. It means that a person is going through a huge amount of constant stress for a period of time. I'd like to tell everyone that; 1) Rocket is not the only one person with his hands deep in the developmet of SA and things are not exactly fully in his hands; 2) The SA which is now in developement will certainly differ fom what it is supposed to be so I understand Rocket's "silence period" because he wants to sort out what is actually there, what he has as a product and how to present it to public, it's really a tough one in my opinion; 3) As I've seen fom all his interviews, twitter, reddit or whatever he has been constantly asked the same questions and giving the same answers all over again which is needed but also shows an overeacting. He is not a bot, he is a living human being who just need space and time to do the job he does and want to do and with all the commotion around SA, his figure, his work it doesn't get better. If we want a better SA and developer's interest in what they are doing we as a fan crowd need to lay off for them to just work and not to shuffle all over the things thealready know. There is a reason why we are not told the whole situation about developement of the SA, so let it be, because it's not getting any better than that. It's not good or bad, it's just the way it is. I myself is looking forward to this game but I really don't want anyone to push it's developers to the limit where they loose any interest in the job they do because of people who actually care only the final product and not the developement part. Be a human being and act like one, because otherwise you will get nothing you expect due to your intolerence of othes work.

Make hacking LEGAL - read before rage
Embroil replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Don't follow you at all. So you want everyone to become a hacker? What's the point? The game itself looses it's charm of survival. Just open a crate and go mad. The alpha verson is not about gaming, mostly it's to find bugs and get rid of them. By using cheats you make an artificial bug, slowing down the developing process of the game. -
I'd really like to see mirror in the game to look around corners. Don't really know how they are called, tactical I guess. They will be a lot of help in the cities to check for unwanted encounters.

In my opinion survival mode is very closely related to medicine. Therefore I suggest to expand it a little bit. First of the situation with broken bones really pisses me off. If you don't have a morphine you're gonna crawl till you die. Broken bones can be put together and fixed by putting a couple of sticks\bars\planks to the sides of the broken leg and tied together. This will temporaly allow a person to stand up and move, not kneel of course. Then I think a firstaid kit should be added where not only bandages can be stored but instruments for wound managing, antibiotics, antiseptics, syringes, etc. It's kind of strange that a shot wound and bite wound are treated the same. One needs to take out a bullet and it's a painful procedure so painkillers would be required to do it, or lose health wile doing it, and then saw the wound for hemostasis, whereas bite wound would require antiseptics and a bandage for treatment.
