are they better, or the same as the mod? is path finding for them better? are they more of a threat now like they were back when zombies didn't have LOS back in the good old mod days where people would actually not KOS because of the zombie threat? do zombies get attracted to gunshots in towns like back in the good old days without LOS and chase you out of town, where you had to kill them all? or is it the same as the mod, or somewhere inbetween pre-LOS and the mod now? just curious, because i really missed the good ol' days where there was not much shooting in the mod due to the zombies. i think that the reason people helped others more than they do now in the mod was due to them not having LOS, to them being relentless and not stupidly.... stupid, and actually life threatening ALL THE TIME. and out of curiosity, do you think they'll add player zombie-fication? say i get bit, then i die to the bite, and then at a randomised time later they will get back up as a zombie, loot and all (as an NPC ofc)? i know, an old suggestion, i just really hope that is added in to add suspense. i have yet to buy the game yet, i need to fill up my steam wallet, i am so psyched to get back into this game again, being SA now and all gives me more hope for what it can become in the future.

I have too many games to buy and that i still have to play! you are ruining my holidays! i still have to beat the F.E.A.R. series, the Deus Ex series, Fallout New Vegas, the Hitman series, Postal 2 which i just picked up on steam for $2.50, Far Cry 2 and 3, and the Witcher 2, and not to mention all the games that i still play such as PlanetSide 2, and now YOU RELEASE THE GOD DAMN STANDALONE?! STAHP! jokes aside, congrats on the release. i haven't been here in a while, but the announcement of the SA on early access came out of freaking nowhere.

no i haven't. i picked them up during a steam sale because i could. and what's wrong with planetside? better than repackagedDLCfield. best multiplayer FPS i have ever played imo.

i have stopped playing the game for now.... but it was the heart thumping intensity that i have NEVER experienced in another video game before. never before had i been so fearful for my character. never before have i thought twice about pulling the trigger, wondering about the consequences. ...i should go play some more now.

ofc it will be worth it. the point of it is to be a better version of the mod. and they say if you can run arma 2 dayz, you can run the standalone dayz (it isn't called arma 3 dayz it is called the standalone)

if EA or Activision get their grubby little hands on DayZ... it would be the end of the world as we know it.

no. although this should be added into standalone, as in when you are killed by a zombie, you turn into a zombie, but an NPC plays your zombie, and you have all of your gear and stuff that the zombie wears, and other players can take out the former you to get your stuff :D but being able to play as one is just silly in a game like this.

this stuff will be implemented in standalone :D

well, if you like the whole survival aspect and such part, i would suggest getting Fallout 3 and modding the hell out of that, starting especially with the mod Wanderer's Edition, it comes with all of the eat to survive and scavenging for items being scarce, and the whole "one bullet from one guy can kill you, but you can cripple him too" . plus, the game has zombies in it also. ....and maybe Minecraft.

it is said that it is more easier to run, because for example the z's right now have "bones" in their fingers etc, and that puts more stress on the CPU, so getting rid of things they dont need is going to increase performance CPU wise. so it will be easier to run.

hmmm, strange. can you run ARMA 2 AND OA fine? i think your CPU has something to do with it, idk. i heard that ARMA 2 doesn't like i7 CPUs. my pc runs it fine on normal, my specs: i5 3570 ASUS GTX 650Ti 8gb RAM it could be server-side though, sometimes some servers have much lower FPS than others. have you tried lots of different servers?

zombies should be feared, and sneaked around, like the good ol' days. there should be a significantly less emphasis on PvP, with randoms banding together to help each other. however the survivor vs bandits should still exist, however bandits should have a much harder time living.

yeah i realised the zs are much much harder. i logged on at one stage to test how good my new PC would run it, and running in anywhere attracted more zombies than usual. i got kill alot more by zombies rather than players.... THIS IS A GOOD SIGN, ZOMBIES NEED TO BE HARDER TO BRING BACK THE SNEAKING. beans to you good sir :D but please dont nerf it too much

you can already drag people if they are unconscious.
