some hives can be buggy when it comes to loot, I stopped playing on thelaughingman private hive because bodies were unlootable.

absolutely nothing !, it is trash loot like empty cans ( atleast you can throw cans ) alot has happened since they removed weapon spawns as default, private hive communities are now the norm although the benefit is that now the game is hacker free for the most part. there are new maps but I suggest you start with chernarus again, spawning without a weapon is better because you will need to actually scavenge to survivie, treating this game like a pvp fest is kindof lame. but anyway, some servers have neat new food items, thermal weapons have been removed due to being way too OP.

The Editor is awesome, I have turned NW airfield into a massive training complex complete with all of the weapons I might find in chernarus, mockup towns and every vehicle in game. Not to mention training targets for sniping practice. its my training map for DayZ!

no there is nothing special about Mountain Dew it is just rare. Also I have found Anti-biotics are only rare when you need them other then that every character I have has had anti biotics at some stage.

another underrated weapon is the DB shotgun, even though it is a terrible anti-zombie weapon if you are a Bambi in cherno it is a good indoor gun.

I take a nothing to lose approach to the "getting started" phase which means I can cycle through 2-5 30 min lives before I get some moderate kit and start heading north. All depends on how well I ghost through cherno/Elektro

:\ what ? steam is not a great way to play DayZ, DayZcommander is 30Mb, does not interfere with steam or any other programs and makes running DayZ easy. Oh and you can launch it through steam using dayZcommander, neat right ?

the 1st mission of training in arma2 ( the one with a firing range ) was all I did. Later use the editor to learn chopper flight as it is not an easy thing to do (arma2 is a simulator after all ), it takes about 3 hours to get the hang of choppers and how to land quickly. I load up the editor every few weeks to refresh my chopper skills as flying in a controlled environment and flying in DayZ are completely different.

1. Hackers are uncommon ever since private hives became popular, dayz gets labeled as full of hackers from about 8 months ago when it was a legitimate problem, the people who scream "dayz is full of hackers" forget to mention or dont know the problem is resolved. I have encountered one hacker in 6 months. 2. the bugs, there are still some bugs but it is in no way unplayable, the bugs involve things like running down stairs or rocks at a funny angle and breaking your legs or accdently deleting items from your inventory ( you only have to do this once and you never will again ) 3. its the best $30 I have ever spent, I not only play DayZ but also wasteland, Arma2, Takistani life and the Arma2 Editor...... the amount of content you get is ridiculous. The Arma2 engine could be compared to Gmod in that it enables you to create custom missions, game modes and mods I play wasteland just as much as I play DayZ.

the Enfield is my go to gun in the start, unless I find a winchester I will take the enfield. use a makarov for anti zombie and the enfield for Banditry.

To start go to hunting stands and barns I dont bother with military loot on the coast as it is often rare and bandit infested, get yourself a shotgun or enfield and head north.

To put it into perspective how valuable Bicycles are, I am a Hero player and prefer to help people. But I will not hesitate to gun a bambi down for his bicycle. - super fast. - No fuel needed. - does not attract Zeds. most of the bandits on my server get around on bicycles.

I highly reccomend Balota buddies. Also vehicles and weapons being easy to find does NOT = good server. High end weaponry should be hard to get and vehicles are a high value item, I remember when I first started playing having a Lada was like having a giant E-peen in game.

Coming from the guy who organized a Reddit hate rally against the Cans in game I find that extremely hard to believe.

I would rather see the results in a screentshot / URL from the survey site with results, surely you can make them public ? Just adds more credibility.
