CSA Recruitment Center (International Clan)
Mode replied to Acevedo's topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Dayz Name: Mode How long have you played Dayz: ~2 months Time Zone: PDT (USA Pacific) Age: 21 PvP experience: I have a great deal of experience with PvP. I generally don't engage unarmed players, but will engage any players I see as a threat to me or my teammates. I don't care what people say, but DayZ is a game where you generally can trust no one but your friends and teammates. I don't have a problem with close quarters combat nor do I have a problem sniping a target at 800m away without a rangefinder or tags enabled. Night operations are not a problem for me, in fact I prefer them. Favorite Gun/Combo: L85A2 AWS, AS50, and M9 SD. This is my current setup right now and it has been my favorite so far. Team Experience: I have been a member of 2 DayZ clans, a number of Counter Strike clans, as well as clans across numerous other game titles. Unfortunately the most recent DayZ clan I was a part of was not very well organized and lacked the tactical leadership for a clan that I would like to be a part of. Despite these drawbacks, we led incredibly successful raids and missions on other clans including both day and night time missions taking place in hostile locations such as the NW Airfield, Stary Sober, and Balota Airfield. I work well with others, follow orders well, and acknowledge that teamwork and utilizing small unit/squad tactics are the most important skills to master in order to be successful in DayZ. How familiar with the map are you?: I can navigate the map with ease without the use of a compass or map/gps. I play with an interactive map running on my iPad. Do you know how to use grid coords/ Compass bearings?: Not only do I know how to use these skills in game, but I frequently navigate rough terrain in real life in my rock climbing and backpacking adventures. -
No problem man, glad I was able to help you out! :)

Use the map and shift click to place a waypoint on the map and see how far you are from Kamenka. Depending on how far away I'll hop on that server and try to get you some food and water.

This guide really helped me to attain higher FPS on my laptop. I can't stress how much following this guide has helped me. One of the most helpful settings was setting my video memory to default. http://www.dayzpvp.c...d-tweaks-guide/ What are your current in game settings? EDIT: One change I would recommend against what the guide says is to turn threaded optimization off

You can eventually walk back into the map, but because you have no compass I assume, you have a 50/50 chance of heading the right direction. Just pick a direction and follow the coast. You are either on the coast running North to South, in which case you want to run south to get to structures. Or you are on the coast that runs East to West. In either case you are wasting a lot of time without a compass.

It gives you a bandit skin for murders, and a hero skin for transfusions and whatnot. Wouldn't worry about it though as it is being removed for now. Rockets announcement: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/3141-banditsurvivor-morphing-to-be-removed/

My Arma2 settings in Six are as follows. Force Beta patch: disabled Update Beta patch: enabled Update to PreRelease Versions: enabled Include server mods: enabled Launch through Steam: disabled (Leave this disabled as I get a bad version error when this is enabled) Force 'Run as Administrator': disabled Then of course, make sure you have DayZ selected in the mod browser.

Zachth, try downloading Six Launcher and joining servers that way. Upon joining a server, Six will prompt you to download the correct files and software versions. I had the same issues as you did until I downloaded and started using Six Launcher. Download it at: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/4941-six-launcher-easy-installupdate-findjoin-dayz-servers-worldwide-network/
