Ok: Having an SSD makes this game have 100x better performance

Yea I was surprised at the difference with this. Uses more power but you want to get the max you can instead of a power management profile fight. -
Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
de4dcert replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
I think you have to take a deep breath and realise he's not going to be out of touch from the game for good. A year from now DayZ will be well into its stride and you can't do the same thing forever. It has been a mod and retail success so we should be excited to see what future projects Deans new studio comes up with. We should be excited about this. To be honest I'm dead jealous, I lived in New Zealand for a year a few years ago and if I had the money and job security I would move back there in a second and not come back. Such a beautiful country you can't not but want to go back there. Ahh miss those DayZ ..... -

I have to agree. RAM disk or SSD will decrease load times but not really give you more fps unless your install is that bad. The best way to increase performance is to turn off power saving options on your graphics card. So for me Nvidia is set to maximum performance all the time. This allows DayZ to use 100% constantly and gives you the most fps possible. When I upgraded to from and i5 3450 to an i7 4770k my fps jumped a ton. Even though it only uses 20% Arma based games like raw core performance. Arma 3 however has seen huge optimisations over recent weeks. -

How many hours have you put in to DayZ SA?
de4dcert replied to tacticalbanana's topic in General Discussion
35 Hours, just waiting from more additions now :D -
Seriously to cover all bases servers need to run on different day night cycles. As for the length of time those cycles go on for I am good with real-time. Sometimes I like to play night, sometimes I like to play day. If I happen to join a server through its transitional phase even better. However I do agree with the people shouting about if the time is real-time then why do I get hungry and thirsty so fast. This is true I find in the games current state of loot spawn and character time that all I am doing is looking for a good quality can of pasta and its wearing me down. Hunger and thirst are happening way to fast its totally unrealistic in that sense.

DayZ Standalone... over a year too late.
de4dcert replied to jBrick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't think there are many people who can look at the footage and not say things have improved a whole ton and the wait was worth it. I looked at E3 and thought ok cross fingers its all about the foundations and now look at it. I'm pumped for this! Friends are messaging lets get back together and explore the new. One of the biggest things for me and again this would have taken serious time is the fact the map has been updated. Prepare to be thrown into the unknown again it creates the best adventures. No offense I love the mod and its many iterations my entire journey is public but you cant help feel now its going to date fast knowing the expansion possibilities for the SA. I mean seriously we waited a little longer than expected but the mod has given us so much to play in the meantime, time flew. -
Exactly!

Yea it seems far off from being the finished article right now. But some good ideas included. Its interesting the admins of the dayz subreddit decided to block this when I posted but allowed others. Something really weird going on there lately.
