    OT: Yes, they're gonna be PVE servers when private servers come out.

    Private servers wont be attached to the official hive so you wil only have that character on that server also there probably wont be a way to disable PvP so it wil most likely be something the admins of the server wil enforce.

    wondering if there goin to make pve servers where pvp is disabled and you can enjoy the random shenanigans with random people without being shot on sight just an idea :)

    At the moment i dont really see a point in pve , zombie AI is pretty bugged. Collect gear then what ?.

    ARMA 2 complete collection is 75% off right now so i was wondering how polished is the mod for it, also i've heard something about Epoch. so are there multiple dayz mods on arma 2. should I even bother or has everyone moved on to arma 3. i already have SA but since there isn't a lot to do wanted to get my fix somewhere else if possible.

    I had alot of fun with the mod. Last time i player there was plenty of servers. I think its worth it considering the price and theres alot of more stuff to do than in SA, Theres also a shit Load of other mods besides epoch.

    No sorry the engine is god awful full stop. You need tony starkes Jarvis computer to run the game on high. Coop maybe and that's all they focus on . Ive never understood Bohemia they seem hell bent on appealing to a niche select few and not realizing a games full potential. Arma 4 will be the same to , CPU bottle necking GPU performance , poor graphical optimization etc etc.

     

    Arma 4 fix , max GPU render ahead 0 bla bla bla  , you have to make the game loo like shit just to be able to aim right. its a disgrace.

    The engine is not awfull at all. It does need some optimazation but considering how much the engine is rendering its doing a great job. You seem to think that they wont optimize the game?.

    You should probably fix your computer, im playing on low settings on a shitty 3 gear old laptop with a 256 MB graphic card

    You are talking about a very specific type of game release called "Early Access". A lot of the software released under the "Early Access" label is actually pre-alpha. When software is usually in its alpha state it is close to feature complete (even if many of those features are not working).

    Call it whatever you want but even Dayz labels itself as Alpha.

    I work for a company that releases games in their Alpha status. DayZ would be considered a pre-alpha here and wouldn't be released to the public. It is not a typical alpha game.

    Alpha games isnt as it was before steam and other publishers started to release them to the public now must stuff is released in a very basic state.

    dayz mod is still technically in alpha.

    it is more fun, competitive and stable than the SA.

    the SA runs on the same engine, using the same code, with the same textures and the same objects and the same items as the mod.

    no leap forward.

    dayz SA being shitty is subjective opinion, which mine is.

    dayz SA being underwhelming is pretty damn near consensus.

    this alpha was released too early to be considered a playable game.

    it hasn't reached playable status, no matter how you internally rationalize it out of fear for the future of the game or defensiveness for being told you wasted your money,

    just my 2 centz

    I dont think you have played any other games in alpha. You are comparing the mod to the stand alone wich havent been out for as long.

    I love the game despite bugs and whatever flaws it have at the moment.

    i agree on being more exhausted faster. because breathing is much harder with a gas mask. it should also look like you are wearing a gas mask when in 1st person mode. decreasing visibility.

    Its very hard. Ran 2 km with a gasmask during my basic training was so exhausted after 5 min of running. I agree they should also add a visbility punishment.

    ryanhop2, Just because kids that never playing in dayz mod now laughting at bandits that killing they with as50 (and tons of kid-snipers in cherno, of course).

    It's obviously make only ton's of trolling =) make poll and close thread xD

    As it is now there is plenty of snipers to choose, so why does it bother you so much?. If you have any skill you wouldnt use a as50 or m107.

    Even if I said "release the game" right now, there is a bunch of commercial crap that has to happen - so keep that in mind too. That's what makes a release date a bit mysterious. However, it's much easier for us to do the release via steam and this commercial stuff is essentially all done there.

    There's still no release date but we've reached that climactic inevitability moment, where it's on the downhill.

    Great with some news and also Gj at everest. Good you came back in one piece :).

    Oh God, help me. This man just created the longest sentence ever on these forums. And it doesn't flow and it doesn't use commas. Thank you for bestowing the gift of capital letters and periods to this poor soul.

    So you mock him but cant add in the missing commas/periods while reading it ?. Everyone who attended school should be able to do that.
