I play windowed mode because it was annoying when I wasn't, and now I can just press Esc. and click the big ol' X button. Plus, I can access my iTunes faster... -

What Are All The Controls For DayZ

WASD/Up, Left, Right, Down arrows for movement. Double-tap W or hold down both W and Up-Arrow for sprint. ' key to sit-down. There is a surrender key which you set yourself. \ key is Salute. ; key to switch weapons Caps-lock to toggle voice chat / key to type-chat , and . to switch chat-channels etc. etc. -
Sounds like whoever said that, be it a hacker or admin watching you on his admin-map, is trying to bullshit you. Sounds like they're just trying to get you to get rid of the very nice sniper you just stole from them.

Any zed can see you if you're prone, it's just really, really hard for them, so they've got to be right near you. I also wanna know how you got the 45% statistic with people not SOS'ing.

Because the gunshots aren't enough to attract all the zeds, nowadays... But I s'pose it could be used to make zeds get off yer back.

The flares are really only used by the military-type groups who work at night, such as marking for a helicopter or lighting up an area, and that's about it. But you're right, a flare pistol'd be cool. -
