  2. Well now the view radius has been reverted back to the body's position of the zeds i, and the group i play with find the game far too easy now. With the ability to sneek around zeds now back to the way it was in 1.7.1, added with the ability to loose them around corners and such you don't need to fire a single shot to get away. I can't comprehend how anyone could think the game is more difficult now yes you start with no weapon, but to be honest now you don't even need one. before aggro never left, and you were forced to open fire if you got spotted, increasing the aggro from zeds, revealing your position, etc etc etc. The ability to sneek was a good skill to have, and with the increasing aggro it warranted carrying lots of ammo if things got bad. Now this is not the case, the only reason you need to shoot now is if you make the mistake of entering a building with only one exit with aggro and even then a lot of zeds will charge past the door and loose aggro. Does everyone really think this is harder? have you played the up-date a lot? or have you died once, read the forums and complaints and decided to rage rather than experimenting with the new mechanics. I think the problem for most isn't that its too hard,. its just the spawn-in locations on the coast could be better positioned so you don't get aggro right away. if anything the game,sadly, has gotten a lot easyer

    The Problem With Having A Car In DayZ

    When i get a car i go batshit crazy. i load it with all my gear, get tooled up, and go on a run, storm cherno, NW and stary in a bid to loose it. i mean shit guys, after you get everything you need what is there left to do? Sit in the woods and survive for weeks, screw that, i'm here to play, not to rack up days alive. I usually announce where im going and what i have gear wise to entice people to come and 'liberate' me of my ill gotten goods, its so much fun. then its back to square one, Banditry and survival,.. lets face it, the game is getting a bit too easy now
  4. How have you set up the two different copies,. do you change game key in steam before starting to switch? or do you have 2 different installs? please elaborate

Please don't do anymore polls, you must know that there a very large portion of the player base who have had experience with forums, and quite rightly avoid them at all cost, and are more than happy with all the changes that are made. By all means read feedback, take on board the comments and explanations made by those that have a similar idea of what your trying to achieve with the game, but for the love of god don't tally them up. If there is ever a time where you can ignore the rants of the few vocal players it is now during the alpha stage. If like me, they've read a lot of what you said about what you want the game to be, and they should be confident that regardless of the odd thing/mechanic they don't like, the games direction will always stay true. So please Don't do anymore votes or tally's. the 20 words or less is a good way to go, but its not the definitive view of the player-base. good for getting input for a specific idea, but again, don't turn it into numbers. Oh and stay well away from 'general discussion' its not game related, its just rants. stick to 'ideas and suggestions'. Gen-diss is just a waste of your time,. and ours to be honest, but i guess it must exist for one reason or another.

  8. No the beta patch has been out for some time now, just so you know its a patch for arma 2, clearly you misunderstand. And just because everyone can change the gammer to circumvent the night doesn't make it okay,. i never did, as it is by definition, cheating. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you probably only ever play on easy mode servers that have 3rd person, tags, and a cross-hairs too
  9. Several things, #1 the most obvious being if you don't like it don't play, a bit blunt thought. Another would be simply don't play at night, would solve this crying issue you have, probably adding to the blur on screen. Thirdly this thread already exists its called 'the one and only: the night is too damn dark thread',. coming in a number 4 would be that this solves the gammer warriors cheating at night. fifth in line is the fact this effectively give you 2 game,. easy mode at day, and hard mode at night, personally i welcome the challenge and depth this brings to the game. And rounding off a 6, if this game looses it draw and popularity to you, and people like you, YES,. +1 from me,. fuck make it even more dark, 24/7.
  10. Logic has no place in the in the hypothesis of what people may do,. physics sure, but society and how people act? hell noes, even less in a game. How many people act logically, compared by those who are governed by emotion, after all we're all here spending our time playing a game.
  11. Let save the viability debate until after its been introduced and we've tested it. Gauging from the replies to rockets thread a large majority of the player base is up for it, so lets see how it goes. Hypothesis and conjecture have there place, but when its concerning a mechanic that will soon be upon us, its better to experience it first hand and come back with our new experiences which have formed our opinions of the subject, rather than some imagined idea of how the game will be.

    So me and my buddies were driving down the road in our van, aptly named the 'mystery machine' ( its looks just like the van off scooby doo, well kinda ) Spotted and heli and fixed her up, long story short, the game became too easy. Not only could we spot all vehicles and camp sites with ease ( i'm not against this, but i'll cover that more later ), we could land very close to them 'liberate' all their loot to the heli, take down anyone who came near, and be on our merry way Personally i like a bit more of a challenge, I'm not saying those who like heli's want the game to be easy, because lets face it, flying around in a heli gunning down people in field and chasing down cars is incredibly fun, in fact its down right hilarious. i just feel there a bit too good. Now i've never had a team gun me down in a heli, or find our camp and loot our tent, so please don't think this is a QQ, whaa whaaa, mah loootz haz gone thread, in fact we welcome such things as it give us more things to do, whether it be replenishing our supplies, or exacting our revenge. I just feel that heli's are a bit too good if you know what i mean. Cars are fantastic, you immediately see the benefits, being able to travel at speed around cherno is great with a larger loot store, not to mention the food/drink you save in traveling in a car, and picking up buddies after i may have accidentally shot them during a panicked firefight is great. As for aircraft i personally think it would be better to have a few light aircraft about,. cessna172-esque planes and such, like a little 2-4 seat propped plane. That way you'd still have a tool for recon missions and such to find other groups camp sites/vehicles and such, but you'd have to work in uni-son with people on the ground, either on foot or in a car. also you'd have limited places to land,. the 3 main places being the the current airfields which are conveniently place at the NW, NE and south. still giving to the ability to travel across the map at great speed, but not allowing you to go effective anywhere you like,. i think it would be a nice balance

    Melee Weapon Petition

    i wouldn't mind a 'shank' option to come up on the mouse scroll menu if you're right behind some dude and you've got a knife. apart from that, i see no need for it.

    I beleave this idea may be nulled with future patches. Did read an interview with rocket where the idea of NPC factions in game was mentioned. i assume such a thing may manifest in some sort of survivor/bandit camp site where your humanity will probably effect whether or not you can enter safely Just an assumption mind, but it seem like a logical conclusion to their purpose, i could be wrong though.
  16. Fella spawned in ammo crate with the bullpup version of the barret .50 Still killed him though,. just goes to show even the best guns don't make you less shit. Didn't catch name tho so not sure if anything can be done as of this post he's still on server and spawning more crates with guns in

    Dynamic lighting has gone screwy

    I tip my hat to you sir, i was really expecting this thread to digress into a massive complaint thread, but you made your point, heard the points from others, and came to the conclusion ''I guess I'll either adapt or get out'', even with my, at times pedantic and hostile reply's :) i hope when i find something don't like i'd be as open minded as you, i say this with the up-most sincerity If i find some NVG's, there all yours mate i salute you
