Another time I decided to be a roaming trader. I did not know how to amass enough stuff to start up, until I found a stash in the woods. A Ural Truck loaded with guns and ammo. I stole it, and drove around the coast lines trading guns fir food, and, since this was the nicer days of Dayz, I actually didn't get shot right after. I had a lot of fun doing this, until the clan I stole the truck from hunted me down and executed me.

I have been playing the mod again for about a month or so off and on lately, and I am constantly reminded of old stories from the early days. Tales of heroism and banditry. So, I decided to make this thread, and maybe share a few. First off, lets start with the first kill I can remember making in the mod. I was running along the coast, with a G-17 and one magazine. I saw a man sitting on top of a grain silo. I talked him into coming down off the silo to meet me. He agreed, and walked out to where I was. He was well geared, looked like he was fresh of the NWAF, heading to Berenzino to hit the super market. He began running that way, invited me to follow, and the second he turned his back I gunned him down. Full magazine to the back. I grabbed his shit, ran off, and two hours later I was shot with a Thermal Scoped AS-50.

One flying over Elecktro. Tested out new DMR. It worked.

Yeah, also, unless you get super unlucky, your tent should be there between updates. this is why some people back when i started playing kept their Thermal AS50s after they got removed from loot lists. Just had them stashed up. most were hacked in after a point though. Still, unless they remove a item from the games code itself, you should keep everything in your tent. EDIT: 420th post.

Ahh, mine was a guy just outside of Berinzino (been a while, cant remember the spelling exactly). I had made my way inland through the woods, got lost as all hell, finally stumbled into a town. I crawled into town, being a bit of a noob. I heard shots from a hill nearby. i ran towards the shots, Revolver at the ready. i saw a man running from ~15 Zed. I lit him up with 4 revolver shots to the torso. he passed out, got eaten, once the Zed wandered off i got myself a sniper rifle (the Civilian one.) Proceeded to go on a killing spree.

I had one happen in one of those prison buildings yesterday. found 6 makorovs and tons of clothes and ammo.

All right. I think i last played vanilla in 1.7.5, what has changed since then?

im with you 100% Gews. this lack of zoom is kinda silly. there is a line between realism and fun. realism is not something to be used to justify a Nerf. or something to be tossed aside when talking about nerfing something. As i have yet to find a single pair of binoculars in the standalone since i started playing again, this no zoom is horrible, as i feel like the most nearsighted person to ever live. Its a big part of the mod, was a big part of the game, and should remain so.

Suggested back in the mod days, not a bad idea, but Zombie birds in large groups, and smaller than a vulture, would be hell on people with slow connections. also, i would keep the zombie animal list small, mabye 10% of all animal spawns, because much more than that and hunting becomes a complete toss up over whether they are edible or not.

I would definately like this. just to know, did i get sniped when i died suddenly in the woods? Did i get fireaxed to the base of the neck? Did i step on a landmine (Really loving landmines and beartraps right now, i just pop in to random servers and set them up inside of police stations and piano houses.)? Did the game bug up?

I just do what i did in the mod. 3P until the fighting starts. I play on 1P only server fairly often, and i kinda like the insane paranoia that comes with a 1P server, but just for casual looting its off to 3P. 1P has better PVP though.

I once found a Firehouse undergoing a lootsplosion. and the rest of the town. im currently carrying 16 cans of food and two guns, which, for a fresh spawn, is not bad. one thing though, i did not find a single drink in the entire town just south of the Shipwreck. kinda weird. that was the bit lootsploding.

This whole bone thing is kinda BS in my opinion. just, no.

Ah, ok. Didnt Know Dayz Commander was broke, i just remembered using it back in the day and thought it would still function. im installing through steam, and i will be playing through Dayz Launcher.

I've got Dayz Commander opened now, what should i download? I've been out of the loop a while, so advice is always welcome.
