I don't think you are correct and this is why A) the player could of had Night Vision Goggles (Since it was dark could you see if had them on or not?) B) there is an exploit where when it is almost night, but still kind of dusk you can abort and rejoin and it will put you back like 30m back into daylight. It will slowly go back to the correct time and eventually when it becomes too late it won't work at all.

Not reading all the qq posts, but the force to crawl bug actually does take skill. Try like me and raid the northern airfield barracks, coms tower, and all 5 or 6 hangers on the NE side without alerting one zombie. I kept having to barrel roll and dodge zombies and use different techniques to get around them. I think the sight mechanic is good, but the sound one could use some tweaking. I don't think zombies should distinguish a survivor from other zombies by their walk sound lol. Running on the other hand should work as is. -
Well if you really want it to be like RL then you have to take into account moon phases and if it is cloudy or not. If it is close to or a new moon then it would be pretty much pitch black outside. If it is cloudy then again it would be pretty much pitch black outside. So to get really technical only about 12 out of every 25 days would you have a significant amount of moon to produce enough light to make it slightly visible to good visibility in an open area outside of any artificial light. Then you have to take into account that none of those 12 days are cloudy which cloudy days are pretty common on this map. So if it were like real life would you only bitch 50% of the time or never because you would just toss it up to luck if you had a good amount of moon and a clear sky every now and then?

Really it is just like with anything else when tweaking a games .ini or system settings to get that perfect FPS number you want. Everyones rig is going to have different results. I personally run a quad core and have -cpucount=4 set on mine. I don't run the -exthreads command, but with my i7 920 OC @ 3.8GHZ and a OC'd GTX 580 when I run everything at max (Except Post Processing) I get 40fps in the woods, 60fps when looking at water, about 25-30 fps in town. So it varies where you are at and on your rig. Experiment however you want just know that your results will likely be different from anyone elses. -
So what you are saying is that you don't mind if its dark enough to have to use a light source to find stuff, but you don't like it being black that requires a light source to find stuff. You just want it almost black.

There are tons of great mods for ArmA 2 other than DayZ too. Like Island Life or ACE. Single player missions are also a lot of fun.

I did that before that patch too. Why raid a town at night when you don't have to? Wow I really wish you would go back and read what you said... Yes open fields are going to be brighter without this recent change, but inside buildings was still really dark to where you couldn't see without a source of light or Brightness/Gamma trick. So please tell me how you looted towns before the night time "fix" without a source of light or exploit?

Don't have to worry about that I stick near my camps at night with my 5 buddies. I am smart enough to not raid towns at night. If I want to raid a town for supplies I go to a server that is day time. So hard...

That would be awesome since I just found a Bizon at a crashed Heli site, but I have never seen ammo for it in game.

Not 100% sure it still depends on your system setup on how much each tweak will improve performance, but from what I understand about Hyperthreading is that unless you use programs like photoshop or sony vegas you don't need it and it will lower the temp of your CPU. -
Items Not Spawning / Limited Spawns

If you are aware of all of this then I am sure you are aware that buildings do A) get searched by other players B) have a good chance to spawn junk loot (houses and other really common places) C) have a good chance to spawn nothing at all. Also it is very rare, but I have ran into a server with 0 zombies left and there was nothing in any building, but that is literally the only time I have seen this. -

I don't really mind the new set up sight wise, but I do think sound should be tweaked. As for walking through town I think you should be seen from like 50m-70m away by a zombie. We can learn to walk behind them, but as for sound... They shouldn't react to you walking on a road 100m away on the other side of a hill. Walking should be almost silent imo. Zombies shouldn't be quick to react to sound since there are always things making sound and other zombies walking around. Though running should still be loud and easy to trigger zombies. -

Quit camping high yield loot locations and switching servers. When you spawn in next to a loot building it won't spawn zombies right next to it or loot to keep people from A) being attacked on log in. B) from quickly switching between servers and gathering the loot and logging off. You can prevent this by going about 50-100m away from the building before logging off. -
Use Flares, Chemlights, Flashlights, Fireplaces etc...etc. Stop crying because it is dark and go to a different server if you can't handle it. The reason it is black on the ground now is because when there was light reflection on the ground people could just turn contrast/brightness to max and it would appear almost daylight but in black and white.

Every Server crashing??

happening for me too. In all my years of playing ArmA 2 I have never had a Losing Connection problem. Now I can barley get 5m in a game before the server crashes. Sometimes it is like 20s after I join. Every Server is night time and they all keep crashing. -
Hatchets are fucking awesome. Went on a murder spree on the edge of Cherno earlier. Hitting zombies and flying them over buildings into trees and cranes. Sneaking up behind people or chasing them down swinging my hatchet. Felt soooooo good. I like them cause once I find an enemy with another hatchet or a gun I know the odds will even out.

Deathmatch with Zombies is boring to say the least as it is right now in Alpha. When in town it feels like I am playing Red Orchestra and when out of town it feels like I am playing a single player game. Zombies are boring and too easy to kill and manipulate. The only ones you even need to worry about are the runners and even then you can lose them a lot of the time by running up a hill. There should be a lot more in the server... I know I have seen up to 1000 in game at any time, but I may not see one for a long time. A couple of roaming between towns or in the woods zombie hordes would be nice and why not just have them all spawn and then just roam aimlessly after that. I don't like coming up on a building with supplies and seeing nothing and then boom zombies appear and now I have to shoot and give away my position. I don't think people should be spawning right next to the two major "cities" This is causing the deathmatch scenario. The spawns should be more nomad by spawning you in the middle of the woods, in a small town, in the city, on the coast, in a barn etc etc... It tells you where you are when you first start and a lot of people can just go by that and figure where to go. If you can't there are online maps. Snipers should be removed... There is really no use for them other than killing other players and with how people are using them they are killing for sport and not survival. Since zombies just spawn out of thin air there is no reason to use them against zombies and since wild game is so rare you usually don't see any until you almost step on them. There are quite a few bugs and glitches, but I know most of them have to do with the core engine of the game. I have played this game for a while and understand there isn't a lot that can be done about the glitches. Though if you could change the threshold on fall damage from 5 feet to more like 15 feet for self damage that would be nice. It would be nice to have some animations in game for your character that are quick and easy to use instead of having to type things like asking if someone is friendly or not. Maybe the ability to point your gun down or salute to show friendly would be nice. That is all for now thanks.

That is exactly what I said... Your reputation must reflect your IQ It really is though. Mainly due to lack of other things to do. And that is the problem... It is boring. Like I have stated it is Deathmatch in towns and boring single player outside of towns. Not all my friends have the same game interests as me and most don't want to play this. They mostly play D3, BF3, T:A, or other games, but I guess it is my fault I don't have a pocket full of friends to really enjoy wandering around in the woods with for hours dodging slow and dumb zombies.
