This is a really really bad ducking game
LiamFX (DayZ) replied to mark3236 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Dude... don't try and have me off with your shitty sarcasm. I've looked at your post again and it says nothing about what I'M talking about. You mention pristine PARTS, if you read MY post properly you'll see i'm talking about the GUN ITSELF. However you cannot see the state of the actual gun itself. Lawyered -

I agree, I'm not saying there should be some sort of script variable that means we are statistically more inaccurate. Just sayin' we are civilians and perhaps that is what they were going for. Has anyone found out whether the gun itself looses accuracy when it degrades? There doesn't seem to be a damage variable on weapons only the interchangeable parts, MAYBE the OP has been using a rusty piece of garbage -

This seems like a lot of unnecessary stuff for one tiny 'issue', like a guy said, why does it matter so much? Baring in mind we are meant to be civilians in the game, why would you want us to have military-like precision? I've shot a zombie from a good 200-300 meters with missing maybe 2 bullets before I hit and i'm a pretty shit shot. The gun itself is an m4 and I believe they're only really accurate up to like 400 meters or something. Either way, your comparison to arma is surely the wrong way to go about it, one game is a military simulator, this is a zombie survival game -
I think this is an 'auto beans' post, well played

I thought it would be cool if aswell as binoculars, you could use a scope you found as a 'binocular', like Upham in Saving Private Ryan does during the radar scene. Not only would this be great addition in my opinion, it could perhaps be implemented whilst there are no binoculars currently in the game, what do you think? EDIT: Also, if this has already been discussed then my bad!
-
I didn't actually know that about the weapon flashlight, but you're right, it's exactly the same premise as using a scope as a magnifier!
-
Yeah I suppose an acog would work, I mean I only really thought of rifle scopes I hadn't even considered stuff like acogs
-
Ah that's cool, had I had known I wouldn't have made the topic

I searched 'binocular' 'scope' 'scope binocular' 'idea', Get off your high dildo!

Immersive Inventory I've had an idea for a re-vamp on the current (and excellent) inventory system and I thought i'd share it with you guys, see what you think. This is in no way slating the current inventory system, I'm just having a bit of fun with an idea. Basically it's a more immersive way of exploring and navigating your gear to add a touch of realism and instead of explaining it i've put together a few visual ideas of how it could look. It's based around the 3D model currently used in the inventory system, except it's more interactive. 1st image just showing the bare inventory screen, VICINITY (2nd image showing items within the 'vicinity' boundaries, instead of a list of items, they are shown around the feet of the 3d model) INTERACTIVE STORAGE (In this image, the rucksack is clicked to open it showing it's contents. I know I've not put enough slots in for that backpack!) INTERACTIVE STORAGE ITEMS (Pretty much the inspect option in the current inventory system) INTERACTIVE ITEMS ON PERSON (The weapons themselves need to be clicked on to be viewed) ITEMS PLACED IN HANDS (Dragging items onto a hand will equip it) I can't stress enough how good the inventory system is already and what a good job the developers have done, this is purely a rough idea i've messed about with! Anyone else had any ideas regards to the inventory system?

Idea/Concept: Inventory Overhaul
LiamFX (DayZ) replied to LiamFX (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Well the idea is that you click on a certain element to view it/ it's contents. So if you click on the pair of trousers it'll show the items within it(like my backpack example) rather than a list of all the clothing and items down the side, you see what I mean? It'd be the games way of 'unzipping' a trouser pocket or 'opening a backpack compartment' rather than picking it from a list down the side of the page. I hope you understand me haha! -

When you say lost Aussie what do you mean? Do you mean because the inventory screen overshadows real time? It was kind of what I was going for to add immersion... Kind of haha, thanks for your reply! -

PS, Not sure if I should've put this in the gallery with the copious amounts of photos? -
Why do you "have" to feel bad for being a bandit/kos?
LiamFX (DayZ) replied to Nesuma (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I feel that a boring type of bandit who will gear up and go killing within minutes without care for their own character's wellbeing is almost a form of cheating only because they have no intention of exploring the game and its full array of features. People were moaning at how difficult it was to stay alive due to the thirst and hunger system but I say make it HARDER, this will prevent the influx of people treating it like a deathmatch on the coast if they are pre occupied in trying to stay alive rather than killing people. I think we all agree that people killing people is a very large part of the game, but should that be the first thing on people's minds when they first spawn in? probably not... -
Well private hives WERE additional characters in a sense. So by that logic if they allow private hives you will have seperate characters for each hive surely? I know It's not exactly like creating a new character and altering their appearance but it'll be the closest thing

Simple way to vastly improve NOTES in game
LiamFX (DayZ) replied to Bororm's topic in General Discussion
great idea, genuinely think this will be implemented. If it's too intensive on the hive to have the graphic show the actual text then, like you said, some sort of variable so we can atleast tell! -
I actually disagree with a lot of what you said, a lot of it is a finalised review on an unfinished game. But you really put across your opinion in a fair pragmatic way which seems to be truthful rather than just a bashing of the game. I read it purely because I knew this was a genuine opinion! Beans x

Coming from the guy who has 3000 posts to my 80. And before you double check when I joined and when you joined, we joined this forum a month apart. I can knock balls out of the park all day long pal, shall we keep going?

You do know you're means YOU ARE.... You've corrected him and got it completely wrong - you really are a cretin. PS, has your species discovered fire yet?
-
Also I watched your next video where you kill the combat logger and proceed to call him a 'pussy' due to his antics... wow, I can actually SMELL the hypocrisy! You are sub-human scum
-
Is there somewhere where I can donate to you? I feel guilty for having an average PC... Maybe try this 8bit zombie game out? It might be suited to your 'capabilities' man http://www.giantbomb.com/dead-pixels-an-8-bit-zombie-sim/3030-36444/

How the fuck do you play the game with that frame rate? There must come a point where you think 'what's the point'?
-
Annoying as it is it doesn't look like there is a fix. Just load the game up, alt-tab to your desktop so you can browse the internet or whatever and just let your character die, might take a while but that seems to be the only option

Ok i get it.. its alpha.. but this is worse than the mod.
