  1. Sup boys and girls and fellow Dayz fans, critics and bent shots (attempt at equality there) Balanced post here to counter the 'Dayz self defence force' who would shout the game's praises even if it was proven to be a source of impotency (limpdickitis to give it the proper medical name). Things I love: The 3 bum chums (me Itch and Northern Irish Guy) wandering the map like minstrels of old dispensing soothing melodies to tired heads via ye old 7.62. The feeling of freedom we have in being complete and utter wankers to 99% of people we meet and the joy of mercy when the 1% are sent on their way with food and supplies (admittedly to be sniped at 300m but still). This game can be as satisfying as pissing in the shower when it's on form and the stars are in alignment. A sheer joy and yet..... The not so good: I am going to be constructive and concentrate on a few points cause shock horror I understand we have a game in development here and am not overly critical on reflection. Those utter bell ends we suffer in the form of hackers. The 3 best dayz players known to man got hit yesterday. We had dragged ourselves to the NW airfield torturously slowly, hit a few dead ends and not listened to other players we met (basically the Dayz developer method). Arrived, got gear hacked by some teenage spunk junky and shot thereafter. God please no, they are becoming way more common, be like the mod soon. Forget adding in new hats and door opening sounds, sort the network code and in particular the 59 second countdown followed by 'waiting for host' That's about irritating watching snooker on a black and white telly. Come on lads sort it out, this fault is common place amongst many players , different rigs and conditions and same thing, so it's not us. Random death bs, a bit less thanks devs! Yup that's! It's in development I know , so don't use the old line defenders of the faith! Just sort some fundamentals and make Mooky happy again. As a pillar of the community and hero to many my personal happiness could make or break this game. Love and respect to my followers and if you don't like it - UP YOURS!!
  2. Semi serious post by me (for a change). Picture this, on a 40 man server we get 25-30 like minded people to hop on, organised through the boards. We roll-up to Berezino and begin society again, ambitious but I think there is a way, read on. So we code name our new town something unique, lets call it Uranus for the sake of argument. The whole of Berezino is way to ambitious a size of real estate, so we declare our new town around about the cross roads area with the pub, med centre, police station and flats as our city limits. We then take up roles to get simulating a human fight-back. My thoughts so far are we have set roles as such: Military: At least 8 members of the group are allocated to town defence, taking out bandits and zombies as the threaten the town. These are the only townspeople to carry firearms (well except police , get to them later). They will have to be hand picked and will have a "general" who is voted in to decide on strategy and placement of counter-snipers etc. All other firearms will be stored in the police station under guard. If anyone manages to penetrate Uranus then the military must respond and repel a deep entry. Policeman: One allocated policeman who is allowed to carry a sidearm. He will take care of town disputes, random fist fights, stealing and abuse. He has the right to take someone to the police cells (away from the guns) and detain them for a sin bin number of minutes to be determined. He may also deal with zombie threats and back up the army in an emergency. Shades are a must and a magnum is preferred. Clint impressions are encouraged and their word is final on civilian matters! Doctor: All med supplies stockpiled in the med centre, all citizens attend the doctor for treatment as required. Plenty of medics who love that shit, so should be an easy role to fill. Pub Landlord: All food and drink stockpiled in the pub for fair distribution under watch of the landlord. Stealing to be reported to the police! The pub will act as a social gathering spot for citizens and music can be played by a nominated DJ through direct chat for some background music. German techno is strictly forbidden. Store Keeper: Dump of clothing and all non-military kit. Free distribution on a shared basis. Prob based in little shop opposite pub. Citizens: The majority of players. Unarmed , chilling chatting , even nominating houses etc. This will be more interesting than it seems (remember we are talking 2 hours tops here). You will be exposed and relying on the military , you may get bored and steal and be detained but its all part of the gig. Citizens should be able to live in peace and this will be a new experience. Entertainment: Boxing matches to be held outside the pub (quite accurate in the UK at least). All organised with side bets of food and goods allowed. 3 knock downs decides it and no fatalities or the police may have to take action. So yeah the real pay off, for me in this social experiment would be as the society started to crumble, the army took casualties and the bandits get bolder. Suddenly 20 plus people trying to survive at all odds, with the inevitable storming of the police station to get guns and blow each other away. The fun would be to see how long this kind of normality could be held down for. It would take willing participants and a bit of organising but would make a good story and perhaps could be recorded for posterity. I would vote myself in for Governor of Uranus ,with no real power but that of being a total spanker. Lets make a full exploration of the potential of Uranus possible! Thanks All Mooky
  3. Sup duds, Right what is the deal with the 99 second black screen wait of infinity nonsense. No I don't have time to trawl every known post here to get to the bottom of it, I am too lazy and it interrupts my murder sprees. Anyone got a definitive solution to the 99 second countdown issue where you are left waiting for EVER at the end of the countdown. No problem with the countdowns per se (don't call me Percy) but be nice to know you will get into the game at the end. If someone can offer me a good solution I will perform a LIVE rendition of the Limahl CLASSIC the theme tune to the Never Ending Story in the centre of Berezino, wearing my pants a bobble hat and a deep sense of pride. Also if you don't want to see that spectacle , tell me the answer and I wont do it.......... ;-)
  4. Sorry I know why the timer is there mate and agree with it BUT when I am my mates get to the end of the 99 second wait, the bloody game sits at waiting for ever basically. I take it you never get this?
  5. Dude I speak(eth!). Still doing the rounds fella, mindless killing, tea bagging, trolling M4s c*nts, self glorification, super human feats, owning, teaching others and being humble! This shall happen and verily there will be peace in Uranus! I am still the governor , right?
  6. Bumping a little , just to keep the faith. Still up for this when the private hive is a go'er. Names have been noted and also the kind offer of a server. Yours The Governor
  7. Well the kind offer of a potential host server could make this a real possibility. Come private hive time, it can be done, simple as that! I will be a merciful God, er I mean Governor :)
  8. Well in answer to your questions. I think to try and pull something like that off in an on-going way would be very difficult. It could be repeated as many times as people wanted but I would say each "experiment" would have a life span in hours not days! This does not make it any less fun however. I think we need private hives to make this work but by the looks of it there seems a lot of people interested, so it no reason not to make this a reality. In time zone terms - I am Connor Macleod of the clan MacLeod, so lol yeah I am Scottish and operate a UK time zone (There in are more countries than England in the UK my American friends, lol!) Multiple experiments could be done though, we just organise them through the forum and away we go. Urani for the masses U.S, Aussie, Kiwi, Canada, India, South Africa, - er that sounds like I am starting a list of former British colonies! But you get the idea, all welcome!!!
  9. THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!! Well Dayz but that sounded cooler....
  10. It could work but strangely may be even harder to organise. I like these off-centre ideas to be honest. The game can be shaped by the players and is something to think about for those that often post "where is the end game?" It's in the power of your imagination - use it!
  11. Well come private hive there is absolutely no reason not to do it. The sheer number of friendlies in one place would be something to behold. I think with good will trouble-makers would quickly be ejected and if the army guys were on song then defence might hold up. Bandits will congregate and the community will come under threat, then the tension will build and the strength of the community will be tested. A random more northerly town could also be picked to allow easier initial setup which will be the killer bit. If it can be run well and be established then it should make for mucho fun!
  12. Back to serious ok semi-serious! We would need private hive as mentioned. TS would be needed and it would be organised into 1. Army channel, shared with medic for tending wounds 2.Police Channel 3.Citizen main channel for day-to-day chatting and getting along. Password distributed in the TS to allow some form of challenge. Sneakily changed shortly afterwards to deter bandit hop-on hop-off sneaks. This separation would to some extent model how it really is , police and army having private channels as Citizens just need to get on with life and must assume the authorities will protect! May be separate channel for pub if music annoys too many people!
  13. All are welcome under the protection of the Governor. I will only be allowed a mosin, m4 , fnx and magnum but its an elected right. Just hope they add an eye patch.

    Feeling Conflicted

Dude I got called hacker after this event: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/163211-the-day-in-the-life-of-an-utter-expert/ Just don't let it get to you :)
  15. Lads, I like Uranus as a name , but was thinking that Saturn might have more of a ring to it!
  16. Yeah mate its on! Triple B could be the answer for the pub bouncer to be used within reason. You don't want the cops all over you for breaking licencing hours etc, lol!
  17. Its a win win for Citizens and bandits. It will draw in every bandit on a server and the army will have its work cut out with counter-sniping etc. Citizens get a really odd but satisfying experience relying on others for defence and the bandits hopefully have a very hard nut to crack. Captured bandits could be executed by firing squad with citizens viewing and jeering!!
  18. Well police should do that role, with army taking out what they can. Maybe 2 police would be needed to ensure zombie are kept at bay so we can safely get a pint at the pub.
  19. Yup great idea, scouts to go out and gather and return with the needed supplies, totally essential.
  20. If you got an unwanted intruder deep in Uranus then they should be able to be picked out as they will prob be carrying weapons. If they start then all citizens are obliged to defend themselves with fists! Police should deal with it , or army if needed!
  21. Right you totally get it, that's the point , act as citizens would not sprint about or do mental stuff lol. As for scoped mosin guys, yes there will be death but the army must deal with and counter snipe and earn their crust. It would be a very tough gig but could be done if security was carried out correctly. Bandits would provide additional supplies for the town , think of it that way.
  22. Deffo dude, I think its easy to poke fun at it but it would be some experiment! We could have code words issued on the day for security purposes! :)
