Yea I try my damnest to fight the balance issue in the game. I've got numerous posts on it. Its one of those things that is going to be extremely hard to accomplish or we'll end up with a dead island knock off. (Of coarse with about another month of testing -that- game could have been a pretty stand up game) I would like all the KoS'ing to cool for a bit. I mean hell when someone offers me help I'm excited beyond measure, get me a Ak Kobra and some mags, food water, you're my new best friend I'll throw myself infront of bullets, draw sniper fire whole nine yards.

I don't find any play style -bad- if players want that I see why not. People play games to do something they can't in real life. I've seen "hard core, been shot, kill folks" people be the care bears in games. And the obviously basement dwelling can't go out in the sunlight, give you teh shirt off their back kinda people. (In one case a minister) whom adopted the idea the internet was different and would grief people. I'd love to see people be able to do what they want. I just hope to see some added balance to the game. Because as it is -everyone- would be taking my ears and skull for simply bringing them a gun to help them out.

I'm not for or against the idea, someone some where would do this. People do it now. Anyway the mental i got was Universal Soldier and Predator cross over in my mind. Dolph Lungrin or what ever his name is and the Predator....give me ears and skulls bitches!

You know in one post...you know have my respect. I completely agree with the whole games were -dumbed down- in the last ten years. Hell I made a similar statement in one of the hot fix forums. Beans to you sir.

hehe i did the helping coastals out. First group shot at me then called Cease fire (Which was awesome when they shot me then realized I'd give them a ride) Second group. Soon as I showed up (Three of them) I gave them all guns (Common stuff) Someone gunned all of us down. I knew it would happen but meh. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Getting really really hard to. Though the first guys that shot at me then I came back for them stopped dead in their tracks when I got out of the car to cover them with my Mod 0...

i would message the BTL guys (Born to Lose) Every time I encounter them on NY 1 They are nice and we do goofy stuff. Still keeping their secrets but out side that great bunch of folks.

Beez is right too. I can not wait to see the balancing act of this game. Its so close and hurts so much to watch it faulter to one side or the other. Props for even trying to do this. I will play most like because i log 100+ hours into any zombie game. Just my thing. I love PvP, I love the idea of helping. (Though wish people were not such traitors most of the time.) Just the whole game keeps me warm and fuzzy inside. I'd be sold completely if we got good special effects, brain and gore splatter on the walls and shit when you got a head shot. (I mentioned some where I keep a tally of movies that have my favorite head shots in them) I'd deal with all the bandits if I could see them slump against the tree I shot them against, leaving a blood trail from the full 30 round mag in their torso. 30 HP rounds would remove a torso. Head popping would be awesome from the high calibers. Something I enjoy but it comes to us from Lag is the whole dying and running into a crumpled ball after you realize you're dead. Meh here I go just babbling away meh.

You really should get to know a military friend or two. Trust me guns would be flipping every where. Damn near two per soldier, plus speciality guns. The ammo should be the really hard part to find. Slow some of the zombies down and make head shots count, half the ammo people could find. I personally think it would do amazing things for the game. I don't want different types of monsters but old decomposed zombies that shuffle, etc etc, ones that don't move at all, dead bodies that surprise you when you get with in grabbing range of them.

I was told by a wise man, "you can shear a sheep many times, gut it once" Considering its an apoc, I try to take what I -want- to ideally survive on my own accord. I have highly considered blowing up a couple tent cities I've found but it generally results in me just looting what I want, I even put the stuff I am trading for it back in the tents. My first M249 I traded for an AKM and 13 mags. (Three belts).

I really don't know where I stand on this issue. I really don't. To be honest if something like this is put into the game, even I would have to lower my standards to drop a load on someone who shot at me and then their position was given away. If they died...I'd go leave a steamer there just to try to attract zombies. All the heroes would shit and piss on sniper hill...all the trolls/ragefags would relieve themselves on players they killed. You give this community the ability to such a thing and it will never be used as intended. (Well only about 5% of the player base would do things as intended) However I do think dead player bodies should attract zombies.

Was playing a few nights ago, trying to get a merry band together. A guy starts talking smack in side chat (Private hive) about "quick" scoping someone. Not very long after that Battle eye bans him and someone else for hacking. I don't think I grinned so much yet on this playing. Was literally just a few minutes after he'd sniped someone offering to help people on the coast

I hate to to admit it but i think it would be great to do this. With the bodies in different postions, kneeling etc etc. Then hide with them just stand still in a field with like six of them. Look like a tactical group, then when someone comes into loot just start talking in Voice chat. "Na man you don't want that weapon, Get the other guys" just total mind fuckery. See how many people log out or just start shooting corpses.

I gained a hero skin just the other day, the only thing i did was pick a few people up (After they shot at me) in a car, drove them around, for a while. Who knows :)

I seem to freak out after the fact. My first PvP story is in the forums some where. I managed to let a guy live, protect him, kill a bandit, wound two others all in like 4 minutes or less. On the way through the woods. I realized my heart was hammering in my ears. I had to stop, take a deep shaking breath then continue on. Funny side note to this. One of my more recent deaths I was talking about to my doctor, considering it happened right before the visit, made a few comments about my buddy getting shot after me just very vague statements apparently. When she comes in to see me, she closes the door and proceeds to tell me that one of her other patients was wondering how I remained so calm after a friend of mine had been shot!. Priceless.

1st death "Wait, what just...how'd we blow up clear out here?" Teleport hacker death north eastern most quadrant of the map. 2nd "Contact, gunfire M4SD, SHIT I'm down, *Starts throwing Mod 0 rounds into the forest all predator style* "Fuck, he got me, no I can't see him." Hacker with invis script on. 3rd. "Man what the fuck!" (Buddy replies to my outburst) "Nothing just I thought zombies weren't suppose to spawn on you and I have been ninja spawned by Mike Tyson zombies seven times today! Oh god damn it not again! (Then I waited patiently as my blood dropped and the zombie ated me. My buddy coming to shoot the zombie when I had 136 blood, bled out) *A sorrowful* fuck... 4th "Umm you can't crawl under the railing on the top floor? Good to know...*Me la aiming at stary from second floor go to ninja lean and does a barrel roll under the railing* "So ... ya don't listen when they say do a barrel roll, I just belly flopped from the top floor to the bottom, I'll be back." 5th."Ok you got left tents I got right." *AKM shot* "I'm down, my left. (Buddy says that didn't help him much) "Electrical box side. He should have aggro all over!" 6th death (First on private hive over side chat.) *Me la crusin in my white car* "Anyone need a ride" (Lotta people /play DayZ taxi, car full of common weapons for fresh spawns. Picked four people up, give them all guns. Cover the zombie aggro the car made with my Mod 0) *Suddenly gun first, I'm the first to die. People screaching "who was it who was it". * My simple reply "Who was here, didn't die, and no longer on the server any more...probably that one."

Worst oh shit moment. Seeing a Tent about 50 meters out from the military tents in Stary. Best oh shit! Moment was finding my first gun in DayZ..didn't care what it was just started shooting zombies.

barter system should be just that, barter system.... you give me your sister for my as50 or your herion for 20 .308 rounds money is useless the only thing I would trade my shit for is other shit I need, currency should be the gear u have (so I partially agree with you there) Screwy you're one of my favoritest people evah! Ok so hyper realistic. What would you do with your family? How would you deal with being lonely? What about sleeping? Can't deal with the nightmares, you don't have them. Or the constant zombie moaning would cause all kinds of problems. There are so many things the simulation can not bring to the table (not currently) I strongly support a more realistic simulation as well. However there is almost no way to add the morality that you'd go through in real life. The perks you speak of are ... nil at best. And considering morality has very little impact on -most- the players playing it turns them into KoS people. Adding perks to (Not punishing anyone) just adding something to, or for, playing the -uncommon- play style will help the game's KoS issue.

Yea the entire topic is hit or miss man. Out side getting some RL friends into the game. I've not found a way to let people know I'm friendly. I had a moment where a guy ran into me at Stary, I had an Mk mod 0 aimed at him, voice chatting "friendly friendly?! ?!" Then i turned and capped the zombies following him in (Damn train of them then my weapon didn't help much) I leveled my weapon at him again. He wouldn't respond but apparently knew enough not to point his Lee at me. No words from his end, simply ran out the otherside of the barn. Took few steps then logged out. So I guess I can add nothing extremely useful. But I will follow this incase something comes up. I've got skype if you wanna roll some time. I follow rule #1 don't get attached to your gear *snicker*

Yea I've been fighting something like this in reference to the killing on sight mentality. Maybe not quests but the closest thing I can think of myself would be like those random encounters in Red Dead Redemption. If players could make them themselves. So I'm bored, menu, options, announce player quest. Have options to set it to "trap" or an actual quest like thing. Give yourself debuffs etc etc all you're choice. If you set the quest for anything other then trap then it disables you being able to fire on another player. (That way people doing cry wolf too much, this disabling feature could disappear say if you are hit by a shot. Or make you take drastically less damage from the next incoming shot but not allow you to shoot back. It'd be very hard to balance something like this.) An anon option too, incase you are not sure if you wanna kill the person coming to your quest or not. At that point anyone on the server could look, a menu option, and realize there is a player quest going on. Now I don't think anyone should see it any where just the players that pass...say with in 2k Meters of you. Get a little notification, something easily ignore able but other wise there. I fully expect people would set traps to these but I'm sure a way to make it less troll ish could be intergraded.

Yea I never really cared for the skin to be honest. Its just the play style. If Zombie apoc happened. (Considering I hope it does some day!) I've been considering what I'd do for years. Who'd I would trust what I would do? I came to the conclusion that I would be weary but as I do unto others as I wish done unto me I find myself helping as many people as I could. If I came across a soldier and I was unarmed. I'd want him to protect me or give me some help. So I try to cover anyone with a horde of them. I would like to give people gear I found from the north. However I never make it from a full run (I get me gear then someone kills me, well I've only got one legit death. I have almost fully geared out five people) Sadly I know all five, got them into the game and communicate on something other then DayZ. I'd like to do this -in- game.
