You dont have to put in effort to survive anywhere, thats why the entire game is a huge deathmatch. Stary has a 100% survival rate if you are not a shit arma player, yes I said arma, not DayZ. Most DayZ players are shit because they bought a game for a mod.

i use it to get from point A to point B, and use it as cover when in a fight. My cars usually last 2-3 hours if im cautious with them.

Ive always done it, and do not plan on changing. Killing on DayZ is the only thing I have ever liked to do.

If you run around a corner and run into someone, almost everyone shoots.

It is the sound of the bullet hitting around you, it is pretty unrealistic in a forest, but it does not give you any hint to of what weapon was fired. You can tell by the report of the weapon, and the distance. I know that if someone is 50 meters away and I can't hear their gunfire its surpressed, if I hear machine gun fire I can narrow it down to what weapon(Learn the sounds of M4/AK/LMGS). If it is anti material, if you do not hear it, its an AS50, if you hear it, it is an M107. Most of the time it does not matter, and the pros of Dayz recognize what it is within seconds, because most engagements in DayZ, you A) Die instantly B) Engage someone within 50 meters C) 100-400 meter engagement

Sometimes ill play friendly, most of the time its because i have been seen and the odds arent good of me landing an instant kill shot. But sometimes, I am friendly, usually only to one person who I never kill again, and protect with my life. It is a game, you can do what you want. Instead of posting here, I would of just went and shot them both in the head, then thank them for their location.

Theres tons of cities to pick from, It doesnt even need to be a super city, NYC and the likes should be left out because they will not be done right, they are just too big, to look good.
