I am searching for helicopter parts right now. I am going to spend the next several hours online, after a long day at work, to fix up a helicopter just for you to fly me around. Just sit tight while I spend some time on this, it's risky running around for these parts with all the good gear I am wearing. o0(Oh wait, what am I saying? I think you should be able to strip off your shirt and cover yourself in mud and hide in a river bank. Predators won't be able to find you. Although Katniss Everdeen likely will.

I am not sure, and the change log isn't real detailed on the functionality (makes me almost wish I had the time to learn script, but need to learn Spanish first. Latino girls.) but I am pretty sure that you need the warm clothes to heat up any time you at high elevation and/or on the snow. The negative effects from snow + elevation overshadow the positive effect from the fireplace.

Try the Humane Society or a neighbor's yard.

Wait, what?! That would be a ridiculous change... I just died yesterday on Namalsk sliding the Offroad into a rock and I am sure there were both options. A good way to test is to try rolling your version of DayZ back to 1.7.2.6 and see if the option appears again. Some servers are still running the older versions of the beta. I started a new character tonight on Zargabad with 1.7.3 and I had both the Male and Female options.

Usually I play squad battles on our server or run with friendlies so I rarely come across someone I don't know. Tonight, playing Namalsk for the first time I watched someone show up in a town while I was perched on top of a hospital watching him. Instead of shooting I said hello in general chat and went down to meet him. He gave me a working Ural. Being friendly can work apparently. Maybe I will try it a second time. ^_^

I have a public character with 64 days of survival... and while I probably shouldn't mention that publicly, I am rather proud of it. This is after dealing with hackers, teleporting, and I will admit I have bitch logged after being teleported. But I still occasionally play on the public severs and meet up with noobs. I have given away my full load out at least once... a M4A1 CCO SD here, a NVG there, and when I am playing on the public's it gives me a sense of happiness. The receivers know who I am. They may have lost that gear within a few days but at that moment, after being approached by a player who had them in the scope for ten plus minutes and gave them a cool item, it meant something. This is a game. It is not real life. I would likely be WAY more protective of my stuff and selfish if the apocalypse really comes. Hell, I might be a bastard. I may murder and double-cross. There is no real way of knowing what I would do. But in this game, at this time, with all of these people who are desperately trying to experience the joy that I experienced when the game was new, I would hope that I am helping out in some small way.

Sounds exciting. Through the little bit of research I have done I have found that this requires a LOT of work and patience, so kudos to you for taking it on. Keep us updated. I would like to know how you progress.

These types of bans are for the public hives only? Are the server hosts an admins primarily responsible for private hives and notifying the DayZ team about players on their servers? The reason I ask is because I have been playing with a couple of groups which have claimed white-listing and hack free and yet after a time the griefers materialize and using paid tools and such they have been going around making a mess of things. I understand that this is more difficult to deal with than scripters actually teleporting or creating items, which can be found pretty quick. It is becoming increasingly troublesome to keep going though the same motions of > being invited to play a cool new game > finding a cool new community > being invited to a "private" and therefore "safe" server > white-listed griefers start making it so that people don't want to play anymore > new friends drop off and go play WarZ > you leave the server because no one is left but the griefers > griefers leave the sever because no one is left to grief > server admin starts shutting down servers because it is not sustainable > you leave to start trolling humorously on the forums > finding a cool new community > being invited to a "private" and therefore "safe" server... etc etc. I have gone though this more than once and I have to say, there is a limit to even MY patience.
