Two points seem to be missed here: 1. Fog and seasons are realistic. 2. The game comes with suggested computer requirements. If you cannot handle them, the do not complain.

This sounds so much like our servers :D I see this being the direction the community is headed.

Battle Eye is ruining the experience on some servers, kicking all players every couple of minutes. Tried contacting BE and no reply. I am really hoping that when Standalone comes out there there is a more stable anti cheat program than this one, and one with more support.

Way to go Nash! I feel like this one will take off, especially with the popularity of the Utes PvP. It is about time some life was breathed back into Chenarus!

US? You are going to love these servers then - DayZGaming.com - Come on down! We have nearly every map and a custom Utes PvP map as well, with a starting loadout, secret easter eggs, and a variable loadout system depending on server pop. We get hackers at times, but we jump on them quick. A quick post on our page or PM to the admin and the hackers are gone like so many bad memories.

I got it with a sale too! It is super cheap :D And I have gotten MORE than my money's worth from this game, easily. First of all, you can use Play with Six, and no offense to your friend, but DayZCommander is much better, especially if you are just starting out. It makes the file downloads and updates so much easier. Get it. You will get the same advice from the majority of the DayZ Community about this. Next, from your description it seems like the file system is corrupted. I would start with a completely new install. First, Install Arma II and Combined OA. Then install the Beta, DayZ, and all of the maps that you need. I am not sure about Play With Six but on DayZCommander this is done by simply clicking on Install/Update at the top and then clicking onthe necessary map/Beta/Arma version you need. If you start fresh from the beginning then you should be okay. The file system is a bit different from Steam to non-Steam, FYI. BTW, it is not just you, it is a confusing MOD to set up the first time if you are not used to MOD'ing a lot of games. I wasn't myself, this was my first. :beans:

The Celle map has this, with the air raid siren at the Mosque. It is rather annoying but realistic.

There is a set of private hive servers which have exactly this. I don't remember who it is though.

I want to give a list; I just came back and there is so much. But take the other poster's advice, just read the release notes. A lot has changed. Private Hives now are the thing to combat the hacking, and they have also created a more serious community, which is helping in the standalone's development.

I would suggest that in the future you are a little more selective about the things you download from the Internet.

We want this to stop? But... this is the entire reason behind a post apocalyptic scenario survival game. It's like asking the rain to stop being wet. That being said, go listen to Rocket Dean Anderson Hall's ^_^ interviews and Q&A sessions. You will see that this is the direction he is going with the standalone.

We have a public hive, and several other hives that alternate from public to private. Also a sole PvP Utes server for that quick load in and practice. Check out DayZGaming.com Also, try out DayZCommander for downloading. It works much better than Six launcher I think, and many others might agree.

Just a fair warning to everyone, the oil platforms DO NOT save vehicles. So if you go out to visit one and make it an overnight stay, your vehicle will not be there when you wake up. p.s. I need a ride.

Not my video series, I just noticed that it didn't have a lot of hits so thought I would support through sharing. It's an interesting server farm, to be sure. I read that they are also working on a Tavaina. I've played this Utes as well and it is constant action, all of the time. Though they are currently trying to come up with new ways to deal with spawn campers... those COD kiddies...

Also, you have to imagine that with a zombie, damage from a bullet will be significantly less if you are talking realism. Because zombies don't really care if you hit them in the arm, leg, shoulder, etc. I mean it doesn't add up, but in my mind, it seem realistic.
