Ha, those are fair points, but are you really suggesting that they change a game mechanic in order to fix bugs? I'd much rather they just fixed the bugs. -

Never liked how in the mod a player could just run up to someone and in a second look in their backpack and steal any weapon they had in there. The current system of having to drop a backpack on the ground in order for another player to rummage around in it works just fine. -
I have problems with FPS and frankly i don't think i should.

Yeah, they haven't even started doing any client optimisations yet, i have a very similar system to yours and i'm getting about the same performance Its worth playing around with the in game settings though, sometimes you can get a higher frame rate by setting thing to high or very high as it pushes that task onto the gpu instead of the cpu. also try this in your startup parameters -malloc=system that gave me a pretty decent boost. -

-You can escape them, just keep running. Though in time that should be improved and we'll be able to lose line of sight to evade them. -Not sure which version you've been playing, but in the latest they die with mostly just one hit from an axe, could be the server you are on is under heavy load. -Again, the more load the server is under, the more likely it seems that zeds will walk through walls, they are working on this and the latest patch has made some improvements buts there's still work to do. -

Hmm, maybe its just for some servers then, i was on SWE 0-4, Wasn't just tents that didn't save either, all dropped items and buildings reset too.

It appears that persistence has been disabled for experimental too, lost two tents full of gear last night after a restart, hopefully the hotfix today will bring it back.

Once item persistence is rolled out to stable, loot will no longer respawn with server restarts, this also has the added bonus of making good gear even rarer, you're not going to like it i think.

This is already in game to a certain degree, You make more noise running with a rifle on your shoulder than if you have nothing, But yeah, would nice if they expand on it some more. -
You can climb up there using the scaffolding around the rear of the buildings i believe, not tried it myself though.

Thats the debug plain, nothing spawns there and it goes on forever, best turn back.

By default the ping limit is set to 100, try setting it higher or deactivating it completely by setting it to 0.

I had arma 2 working on Linux with Wine, performance was poor with some graphical bugs, main issue though was that Battleye refused to work with Wine, so i haven't bothered to try standalone yet as there'd be no way to connect online without Battleye. Edit: just seen the link WarHoax posted, looks like battleye might not be an issue now, nice.

Test result was Explorer, i'd say thats pretty accurate.

That varies greatly, depends on how experimental things are, sometimes they try things that just dont work out and it can take weeks to get fixed and sent to stable.

Fine, as long as it takes 5 minutes everytime to want to open a can in game. -
I dont understand the logic behind people thinking that the Devs want respawning to be an enjoyable experience, death should be something to be avoided at all costs, not just a minor inconvenience. If people are complaining about the spawn points then i'd say they are working as intended.

They have said they would like to see the game ported to other systems once it has been released, but nothing has been confirmed. -
As far as im concerned if a mod adds a safe zone or protected stashes its no longer DayZ.

Rocket has said in the past that zeds wont use player clothing because it would use up too many resources to render a lot on screen at the same time, thats why the current zeds use a much simpler model than the player character. That means there has to to be individual zombie models for each look, i'm sure they intend to do more as the game progresses buts its probably a very low priority right now.
