Heli crashsites dont respawn loot, once its gone its gone:)

Sometimes a fresh spawned vehicle will show lots of damage when you get in the drivers seat but only a few items damaged when you use the scroll wheel, repairing all the parts that the scroll wheel shows will completely repair everything. even if its just one piece of glass. Not sure about a fully repaired then damaged vehicle needing glass to fix a wheel though, that's just odd.

Its certainly possible to add buildings and AI to public servers, ive seen hackers do it enough, permanent ones too. But it isnt allowed according to the server hosting rules set out by the DayZ dev team. That server runs the risk of being blacklisted from the public hive.

You could try our server, we have reworked the loot table to make gear a lot rarer, especially the high end military weapons. We do have more vehicles than you were looking for but they do all spawn in damaged, and many are in new locations so will be harder to find. click on my signature for more details -
As above, theres a current bug with repairing all vehicles, the guy doing the repairs need to get in the drivers seat then get out so the vehicle sync's to his character, no one else should interact with it until he has finished repairing. same problem can occur with fueling. You'll be glad to hear this has been fixed for the next patch. edit: Just noticed how much of a Necro this thread is..i feel all dirty :huh:

They lose less humanity by not killing and gain undamaged loot. Im not a fan of any kind of forced mechanic like this as i believe that the same results can be had with a simple hold up through direct chat, so long as the robber has enough of a tactical advantage, this will feel much more natural and lead to much more emergent gameplay which i believe is what DayZ should be aiming for. But you're right, there needs to be some kind of benefit to robbing someone over just KoS, It looks like the standalone already has a plan for this in that gear can take damage if shot at, so if you want that guys backpack and contents you better not shoot at the body, or a head shot will damage any NVG's they might have. Thats more the kind of thing that we need, though that alone may not be enough to encourage robbers to gamble their own lives. This is the other side of the problem. As DemonGroover says theres already a surrender option in game first problem is many people dont even know it exists and by default its not even bound to a key. But the second and biggest issue is that most people would rather die than suffer the humiliation of being robbed. There needs to be a greater connection between the player and his character so that they would rather lose all their gear than die. Otherwise robbery will never become a viable alternative to KoS. -
Nope, you're not alone there, really hope the standalone gets improved gun sounds at some point.

Dont see why they should be predictable, to me they are each individual living humans driven insane by a virus, like an extreme type of Rabies, if anything they should be very unpredictable.

Agree you should be able to disarm unconcious player, combine that with non lethal ways of knocking people out and theres going to be lots of fun had robbing people. Shooting guns out of peoples hands isnt a bad idea either so long as it doesnt feel like a forced mechanic and theres a high chance of damaging the gun, Would be great to see more accurate body damage, shoot someone in the arm/hand for example forces them to use the gun with only one hand making it extremely inaccurate, maybe firing a rifle one handed can only be done from the hip and suffers from high amounts of shaking from the pain.

Well I dont usually play on servers with a crosshair, and i wasnt claiming that the 74u was a better weapon i was simply answering your question as to why i personally would choose it above certain other weapons.

Ive got a soft spot for the 74u, its a great gun for dithering about the NWAF killing zeds without getting too much aggro plus i just like the look of it. From your random selection of guns i would choose a 74u over the m16 acog (no good for close range) and any of the G36's(they look like they were designed by a 5 year old). The M4 cco's are pretty good and i love the AKM, FAL and Sa58's By the way Gews, would love to see a comparison between the AKM and Sa58's, keep up the good work.

Never heard of a weapon changing like this before. Most likely a database error, if this is happening on one server you should inform the admin so that they can look into the problem. Also make sure you are not disconnecting from the game soon after picking items up as it can sometimes take time for the database to be updated, especially on busy/heavily modded servers. -

All it needs is lots of different lootable clothing items and lots of different character face options, Any kind of tag/marker hovering over peoples heads would annoy the shit out of me, its a lazy solution.

Details are in the OP, you just need to add R4Z0R49 on skype, he will add you to the skype call which has a link in the topic with all the download and install instructions, Play on the server, any bugs you come across just type into skype chat, Theres new updates pretty much everyday as bugs get fixed and new things are tried.

Id suggest taking your PC to your router just to test whether plugging in directly via ethernet makes a difference. If it does then you know your wireless card/driver is most likely the cause.

Its seems to be the norm for DayZcommander to take a while to update to the latest beta, no idea why, maybe they like to make sure theres no game breaking bugs before commiting. -
Pretty sure you wont be spawning with a gun in the standalone, guns as a whole are going to be very hard to come by according to rocket.

Came across him once, put 20 lee enfield rounds into his face while my friend put a couple of DMR mags into him before he died, no loot on the body, well nothing memorable anyway. -
Indeed, been on the test server myself, its looking pretty great, but they need more testers to just play, its the best way to find unexpected bugs.
