I dont think a forum is an accurate representation of the player base of a game as most casual players will never go to a forum. and i'm willing to bet most casual players adopt the KoS style of gameplay as its what comes naturally after years of conditioning from playing your typical first person shooter. Also, in a world where many do KoS the best way to be friendly and stand any chance of survival is to keep your head down and avoid the bandits, so naturally you're going to see less of those people in game. Also, isnt the bandit section the wrong place to ask for friendly players :D -

No need, there's an admin tool called GCam which can be used to view players without effecting gameplay. -

Nope, it was a 1600m body shot apparently. -
In the next patch blood bags are a lot rarer and more importantly theres no more instant health, both food and bloodbags will regenerate blood over time. Seriously man, you need to consolidate all these weapon threads into one and get it stickied, very informative. If i have to choose i'll most likely go for the enfield, just love the accuracy of that thing.

If you're thinking im trying to advocate any particular playstyle then you're mistaken, I was simply saying theres a lot of exploits/bugs in DayZ (many of which i have abused in over the year of playing) and taking advantage of these exploits only serves to break the game even further, sure you can have the attitude of everyone else is doing it why shouldnt i? But in my personal opinion the game is better if you can resist the urge to go the easy route by abusing the games less than perfect mechanics. I fail at this often but i still try. -

I appreciate the sentiment behind this but i really dislike the idea of having the game talk for the player, The way the standalone is going with your gun being lowered by default and then needing to be raised to be fired is a lot simpler and would seem much more natural. You can currently get an idea of someones intentions just by how they move around you and respond to you, people will lie and deceive but thats just part of the game. trust has to be earned. -

Just to be clear, what game in your opinion did Rocket say he was going to make? People are making suggestions to increase the games complexity, to add many different possibilities for many different playstyles, How you equate that to Dumbing down is a mystery to me, Also i'm pretty sure more guns have been added since the community dev team took over rather than taken away. I'm quite happy for there to be more variety of guns, but they should fit the scenario and you shouldnt be able to find a DMR or even a M4 cco within 2 minutes of spawning, Having weapons too easy to come by just leads to one kind of playstyle dominating the direction of the game. Its the easy way to get players onto a server, add a shit load of guns, that, in my opinion, is Dumbing down. -

When carrying passengers in a littlebird heli be sure to inform them to never, never, never parachute out. -
Good guide, but i would say i've never had to resort to damaging the vehicle to get it sync'd to the player, getting in and out has always worked for me.

Actually Gews, you'll probably know this, how much damage will the enfield do at that range?
