Yes, caves would be awesome, i suppose once they have the system for instanced bases a few instanced caves around the map shouldnt be too big a problem. Rivers would also be great but apparently the problem is the engine can only do water thats at the same height as sea level, so any rivers would have to be gouged out of the landscape, thats a hell of a lot of work i imagine and wouldnt look natural.

And thats just out of the loot table, they can still be crafted, just means people will have to put more work into getting them. A Stash site is an alternative to a tent, they hold less gear but are harder to find, And infected camps are random camps that spawn around the server similar to how heli crash sites do.

Ok, you mean people who use hackers as an excuse to alt-f4, when there is no hacker, agreed, those guys suck.

Clearly combat logging upsets you, as it should, its a huge problem still, But i refuse to believe you cant see the difference between someone who hacks and someone who quits the game to escape a hacker.

Ah, i get ya, The only real problem i see is that people never seem to notice it, but i dont think that warrants it getting a whole section, maybe it should be added under the heading of the New Player Discussion section. New Player Discussion Guides, tutorials,CAN I RUN IT?!!!!!, videos...Oh my!

I like it, it could also add reason to taping magazines together allowing for a quick reload without having to drop anything.

I noticed a little while ago that the in game description for the engine is actually Engine parts , its not meant to represent a whole engine block at all, seems they just used an image of a full engine because it would be more easily recognisable, same with the main rotor assembly and fuel tank parts, its just the parts needed to repair, not completely replace. A wheel and tyre is going to be large heavy and cumbersome no matter what, unless you assume all thats needed is a puncture repair, but then a punture repair kit would only take up a very small amount of space so you go in the opposite direction and it becomes too easy. plus the vehicle models are clearly missing wheels when fully damaged. Windscreen glass is a bit of a problem as you cant really repair glass, well not without it losing it see through qualities, so it would have to be replaced but in the mod windscreen only takes up 2 slots which makes no sense it seems to me it should be the largest and most cumbersome vehicle part to carry. Also, hopefully in the standalone no vehicle should be reliant on glass in order for it to move so you should be able to take the vehicle to the glass. Scrap metal, now thats a vague one, there could be numerous uses for scrap so its hard to define how big and heavy 'scrap' is. I think adding a weight system really adds to the game in terms of making people make decisions on how much they carry, its far from perfect as it doesnt address the size of items but it does add consequences to stuffing engine parts and 4 wheels into your pockets.

The starter makarov was taken out again, the changelog just needs updating, From playing on the test build one of my favorite things is that ALL loot is now a lot rarer, really gives reason to search all the smaller residentials rather than the one stop shop at the general store.

Agree, the time it takes to die should be appropriate to the cause of death, especially death by zombies, that needs to be a lot more gruesome.

When i look at those real life pictures it all feels very familiar even though ive never been there, Thats why i've always prefered chernarus other all of the other maps for DayZ, The attention to detail and authentic feel of everything makes it seem like i'm exploring someplace real. -
Sounds like a pretty awesome introduction to the game, My first DayZ experience involved me spawning into a pitch black server, faffing about on the beach for 5 minutes trying to figure out how to get the flashlight to work ans suddenly i hear footsteps come right up to me, still cant see a thing, and i get shot once breaking my leg. Next thing i hear a car pull up, the guy gets in and they drive away. didnt last much longer after that.

I'm all for more varied animals, they could really add a lot to the game by expanding the hunting and foraging aspects, as for bears in particular? yes please, the odd pack of wolves wouldn't go amiss either.

Its a one off payment, the earlier you get in on the standalone alpha the cheaper it will be, There will be no further payments for updates. Price at release is mostly speculation but is expected to be around €20.

If the message said "NO bad scripts found" then thats a good thing, most likely you couldnt join because you had ACE enabled, there are very few dayz servers that are compatible with ACE, as far as i can see DayZRP isnt one of them. Just try joining again with only dayz and no other mods, if that fails reinstall dayz.- 1 reply
