Up until recently arma was reliant on the Gamespy server browser, Gamespy is no more, so you'll need to install steam and activate your arma cd keys so it shows in your steam library. Yeah,I can understand Bohemia wanting to keep the system for a game like Arma (though i'm sure they could come up with something better) But for a relatively simple game like dayz? no need at all.

Middle mouse button to reload needs to go, The pain in the arse that is reloading when trying to stealthily open a door far outways the slight convenience of being able to quickly change to a different type of mag, Rocket has said that they intend to look at getting rid of the scroll system entirely, that'll be a good day i reckon.

Yeah, unfortunately there's a lot of admins abusing the system, seems like its a constant battle to get them taken down, once one goes another pops up. -
Quick question. Do I keep my char in stable if I change to exp?

Yep, experimental uses a separate hive to stable so your stable character will be unaffected. -

If you dont reset your controls you might have issues with other things, one example is a friend last night was unable to throw using the G key. Also shift is now used for crawling fast and fast crouch walk, not sure if that will work with double W.

Yeah, 100%. Modding will most likely only come once they are happy that the game engine is secure as can be from hacks, keeping on top of that while the engine is under such heavy development would severely slow down progress, better to just keep it locked down for now. Also data, if all the private hives are running modified code then any data collected from them would be useless, not only that but there would be a huge influx of useless bug reports coming from players from modded servers, The bug tracker's a mess of duplicate reports as it is, Having reports on there that are essentially from a different game would make it a nightmare.

Ha, those are fair points, but are you really suggesting that they change a game mechanic in order to fix bugs? I'd much rather they just fixed the bugs. -

Never liked how in the mod a player could just run up to someone and in a second look in their backpack and steal any weapon they had in there. The current system of having to drop a backpack on the ground in order for another player to rummage around in it works just fine. -
I have problems with FPS and frankly i don't think i should.

Yeah, they haven't even started doing any client optimisations yet, i have a very similar system to yours and i'm getting about the same performance Its worth playing around with the in game settings though, sometimes you can get a higher frame rate by setting thing to high or very high as it pushes that task onto the gpu instead of the cpu. also try this in your startup parameters -malloc=system that gave me a pretty decent boost. -

-You can escape them, just keep running. Though in time that should be improved and we'll be able to lose line of sight to evade them. -Not sure which version you've been playing, but in the latest they die with mostly just one hit from an axe, could be the server you are on is under heavy load. -Again, the more load the server is under, the more likely it seems that zeds will walk through walls, they are working on this and the latest patch has made some improvements buts there's still work to do.
