  3. Frame rates a bit poor on that second vid, wonder what the systems specs were. might give this a go tomorrow, just for something to do.
  4. I believe thats exactly what they have planned, its just going to take a bit of time.

Wine is good, Dont know the technical details but its basically translates windows programs so they run on linux, but it doesnt work for all games currently, last time i checked people were working with valve on a project that works off the same principle aiming to get as many games working as possible. If by flavor you mean Distro then thats not right, its a program that runs on linux.

    Could it be possible to put a train in DayZ?

    Already been discussed here http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/83510-train/page__hl__train Personally think the map would have to be a lot larger, with the limited amount of track in Chernarus it would just be a novelty feature.

    DayZ Sound Mods

    @starwarzrulz The most common used sound mod is JSRS, but the server has to support it or you wont be able to join. You have to install it manually if using DayZcommander, Or you could install using PlayWithSix as that has good support for installing Arma mods. I'd recommend first finding a good server that supports JSRS then check their website for installation guides as some servers will use different versions.

    The petrol station is spot on, cant fault it, Only criticism i can come up with is the blue van doesnt look quite blue enough, bit too much purple in there. or is that lylac? And last of the V8 interceptors it is :beans:

  13. The problem is with the server not your client, they need to sort their battleye script.txt file out. contact the admin of the server.

    Alpha test, closed alpha, even more closed alpha?

    The old december release date was when all they planned for the standalone was a slightly polished version of the mod, it would of had the same server architecture and so the same problems with hackers, not to mention no end of other limitations. Then they changed the plan and decided to remake the whole game from scratch with a custom game engine and completely different server architecture. This means we have had to wait longer but we will get a much better game at the end of it. This is a good thing.
  15. Both, especially with all the bugs out there. But really it depends how you play the game, you could just sit in the woods away from any other players and survive for months with very little skill involved.

    You've got it wrong, you dont actually craft the attachment, you find an Aim scope then need other parts and a gun to complete the crafting process, this was changed a while ago.

    Can you take stuff OFF of vehicles?

    Not in vanilla DayZ, though many private hives have added a script that allows salvage of parts.

    On the one hand i like how in the mod vehicles are a rare find, but it would make sense that vehicles were all over the place, Also to consider theres been suggestions that as players do things like repair vehicles they will get better at it, With that in mind you could make it that the majority of vehicles are in such a bad state that its impossible for the average player to fully repair, they can salvage parts but maybe the hull/chassis is too heavily damaged to get going without experience, This would mean we have lots of vehicles spread accross the map but finding a good one still takes a lot of time and luck.

    Why remove the 50?

    And not everyone against the AS50 is a victim, You're as guilty of making these assumptions as others, My biggest problem with the AS50 and M107 is the ability to just run around firing from the hip with perfect accuracy, its a joke. Simple solution as has been mentioned plenty of times is to replace them with something like the Lapua or KSVK, just simply because they are bolt action and so fire a lot slower.
