If it does, and thats a big if, it would take well over a year from now as they would most likely wait till the game is a full release and not an alpha.
-
Wow, never noticed that, well spotted, hope it actually makes it to the game.

[Stand Alone] What do you want in standalone?

Vilgilant grooming of the hair on your hobbit like feet would reduce how much noise you make when sneaking of course. @OP, i'm curious, By forgeable bows, do you mean craftable? -
How does that compare to when you play on an Arma2 wasteland server?
-
I hope the Server owner doesn't wonder

Theres plenty of admin tools out there that allow pretty much everything to be seen by the admin, many server packages now come with them pre installed, so yeah, it is a big problem as there are many that believe that as they are paying for the server they can do whatever they like, who cares if the players expect to be able to play fair, right? It sucks, but as said just dont play there if you are sure theres admin abuse going on. -
Ive got a HD6850 oc to about 6870 performance so no. But as others have said, with the Arma/dayz engines CPU is far more important than GPU.

Standalone modding support

They've said they hope to release new maps in the future, but making a map to the same standard as Chernarus takes time, i think it took Bohemia two years to make it the first time round. -
How did it handle humanity? as in did humanity only go down once you inspected the body, because if it didnt go down you'd have bandits murdering away and just not looking at the body, and if it did go down with the kill people would be able to just watch their humanity instead of the kill count. Like the idea but it seems flawed.

No DevBlog this week but here is some screens

I was a little dubious of the quickbar when it was first announced too, but bare in mind that its not your typical quickbar that allows you to instantly swap from one item to the next. There will be a delay to getting items out of a backpack, preventing people from just being able to swap weapons in the blink of an eye. And in the dev videos ive seen only the items in the quickbar are visible when playing, not the whole quickbar, Personally I'm hoping that even they wont be visible. -
Try a manual install of battleye http://www.battleye.com/download.html

and dont forget to verify your steam cache files for arma2 and a2 operation arrowhead https://support.stea...=2037-QEUH-3335 almost forgot about that one again.
-
Just to clarify combined operations isnt a game itself, its a package containing Arma2 and Arma2:operation arrowhead, you probably know this just making sure.

Question is where are you buying these CD keys from because if its not an official source the chances are that same key has been sold to countless other people and its only a matter of time before one of them gets the key banned for hacking. read this http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?135881-Did-you-buy-your-ArmA2-key-from-a-CD-Key-reseller
-
make sure you run Arma2 and Arma2 operation arrowhead first, they have to be started at least once before dayz will work. also make sure you install the arma beta patch i recommend 103718 as the newer ones have had reports of bugs.

Again, the smile says it all.

Must be true, just look at the smile on Burt's face.

You got it right Official = Public, all character data (gear and location) is saved to a central database and carries over to other servers. Unofficial = Private, most have their own database so gear and location is only for that server, there are some exceptions to this, some private hives may 2 or more servers linked together. Also many private hives are customised, some subtle some very heavily.

Another inventory question. Is the 10th item in the backpack a condom? Maybe used for waterproofing items such as matches?

From the picture of the inventory you posted i see there's a section called 'shoulder', I assume thats where you carry a primary when its not equiped, is this correct? And if so where would you have a secondary when you have your primary equiped? Same thing for melee weapons.

Really impressive man, cant wait to see what he can come up with. Ha, 'SonovUrbizniz' i see what you did there

Anyone got Confirmed video of NVG zombie pilot drop
fluxley replied to Loke (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
its all in the @Dayz folder, you need to unpack the .pbo files with this http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=16369 And you'll find the loot tables in the dayz_code.pbo > cfgLoot and dayz_code.pbo > config Appears the pilots just use the military loot table from cfgLoot almost forgot, use this to open all the files in the pbo's http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ -
Awesome, bringing back memories of sifting through my big red tub full of lego trying to find that one elusive part. :beans: :beans: :beans:

Anyone got Confirmed video of NVG zombie pilot drop
fluxley replied to Loke (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
No NVG's to be found on the pilots i'm afraid, its all a bit of a myth. http://db.dayzwiki.com/zombies/17-zombie-soldier-pilot -
The initial plans for the standalone are that it will be only on the public hive which means all servers will be linked to one database and will have to stick to the rules set out by bohemia, which means you wouldnt be able to enforce your own rules such as no pvp. Currently the only way to have a PVE server is to set up a DayZmod private hive, with that the admin have full control over the rules and can also add mods to the server to suite their needs. But as i said the Standalone and the Mod are shaping up to be two very different games. Its also worth saying that running a DayZ server can be a lot of work and getting a decent size player base can be very difficult if you dont have your own group to get the ball rolling as there's a lot of competition. I'd recommend just finding a good server just playing the mod before jumping into running your own server.
