Ok, here's another.

I often find myself running into walls headfirst in the hope of getting a bit of amnesia just so i can have a few days noobiness back.

The picture of the supercharged gaz is not to be taken seriously, i'm not expecting anything like that. any kind of engine upgrade should be pretty much 'endgame' as far as the vehicle system is concerned, but the rest of the suggestions are all very doable by anyone with a bit of experience working on vehicles. Does it all fit within the scope of DayZ? I believe so, everyone has different ideas of where this game is going due its open world nature and the way its being developed, but i think one of the best things they can add is extra depth and complexity to every aspect of the game. Medical system, weapon maintenance, clothing, construction, hunting/preparing food and vehicles. nothing should be excluded.

But seriously, would love to see more in depth vehicle maintenance and modifications, practical applications from modification. -Take shock absorbers and wheels from an offroad vehicle and fit to something like the gaz, giving an increase in offroad speed, but a decrease in handling. -Apply metal sheet to body work, thin metal would be good protection from zombies, thicker metal could provide small protection from bullets. -Roof racks, so you can find containers and strap them to the roof for extra storage. -Fit large oil drums to increase the size of the fuel tank, at the cost of storage space. -Bull bars, increase vehicles durability from head on collisions, with added bonus of sending zombies further when you homerun them. -Mounted weapons, LMG attached to the back of a pickup for example, would need to abide by the rules as normal hand held weapons, maintenance, limited ammo loaded by the player, and be very hard to aim from a moving vehicle. -Lights, upgrade headlights or simple add high power multi directional spot lights. -Engine upgrades, increase in performance, decrease in reliability. And as rocket has alluded, the more players work on and repairs vehicles the greater their chance of success in applying all these mods.

Guns with attachments are still in, that was part of the crafting system which they are holding back to work on it some more.

I'm afraid so, The Picnic Table is no more. There just wasnt enough of a player base to justify the cost. There's talk of us getting a server for the standalone when it comes out, but we'll have to wait and see for that. Sorry, should have updated this thread earlier.

I simply said its not a feature of DayZ, as in you cannot do this in the current mod.

If you cant find someone that you can trust to give you a transfusion then you have to find another way to get blood, go hunting, a few cows later and you'll be good as new.

In 2017 you select the crowbar with your scroll wheel and it allows you smack zambies with you rifle butt, its only low damage as it uses the crowbar, but its pretty handy when you get in a tight spot.

Yeah, you are joining private hives, they dont use the same database as the original public hive that your old character is on, so you will start fresh with different or no gear and your progress will only count for that server. The keys words you want are official or public, as applejaxc says its worth doing a bit of research to find a well run one as hackers can still be a problem on the official hive.

I believe you can do this in DayZ 2017, but its not a feature of standard DayZ.

So long as you have the appropriate map or mod installed dayZcommander will detect the right one to use when you join a server. so you can have all installed and dont have to mess about uninstalling. I think that answers your question.

The dev blog showing those animations being captured was from the 22nd of February. thats almost 4 months ago.
