Why do people store gear?
fluxley replied to Composite Armour's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
And some people just like collecting loot. i went through a stage when i had tents scattered all around the map just full of almost every gun in the game, funny thing is i'm perfectly happy to just run around with a lee enfield or an Sa58v. But what can i say, i like stuff. -
They are looking into it, you should post a report here http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/139033-dayz-177dev-bug-list/ Try to give any information you can think of such as what servers you are on, where you are and whats going on around you when its happening, the more info the better.
-
You'll have to wait for the standalone for that i'm afraid, if they did that in the mod the performance hit would be too great.

Private hives are the way to go to minimize hacker action but there are still plenty of people playing on the public hive. also theres now a huge choice of mods of the mod and different maps nowadays.
-
Not seen any other reports of these issues, have you been getting this on all servers? If so you should report them here http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/139033-dayz-177dev-bug-list/ make sure to include details of the servers it happens on.

Nice guide man :beans: I would say though it is still possible to lose zeds with a little practice, I've found that first you need you get a little distance on them by going through a few trees or buildings then find good large group of pine trees, run through making sure not to get into the line of sight of the zeds and as you get to the last tree try hiding inside or just crouch walk away, the key is to make sure you have the distance as they can reaquire your location through sound if they are too close.

Vanilla\Breaking Point\Origins\Other?
fluxley replied to Nocturnal (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Welcome back, There's still a lot of hacking about on the public hive but it has calmed down a bit i'd say, Finding a well run server with good admin really makes a difference though, but yeah a good whitelisted private hive does make a big difference to the amount of hackers you find. Here's a pretty good guide that covers some of the different mods of the mod. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/109569-index-of-dayz-community-mapsmods/ -
Nah, the wiki's wrong on a lot of things, like all wiki's its reliant on user's keeping it up to date.
-
Nope, killing bandits never effects your humanity, maybe in some other mods it does but not standard DayZ And the wiki isnt totally accurate either. got curious about all this so i checked the Dayz code the other day, heres what i found. you start at 2500 humanity, if you go up to 5000 you become a hero, the only way for this to go down again is by killing other heroes or survivors, if you go down down below 5000 you become a survivor again. You will become a bandit when you get to -2000, And become a survivor again when you get up to 0 humanity. When at anything below 2500 your humanity will slowly rise back up until it get back to 2500. (This doesn't work the other way round, you do not slowly lose humanity if you are above 2500.) Dying does not effect humanity at all, its persistent through death. Worth noting that other mods such as DayZ Origins handle humanity different to DayZ. Now sometimes the game seems to bug out and you can get over 5000 and you wont change skin, try relogging as that may help, if not the skin change should occur the next time to die.

Killing bandits has no effect on humanity.

Only BattlEye can help you now my son http://www.battleye.com/support.html

Boom! Full alpha access, as in no limit to keys, it will be released on steam available for everyone to buy, and then all the servers will melt.

To Everyone Complaining About 1.7.7
fluxley replied to NovaDose's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Also, there are many more locations now where loot can spawn, its not just in buildings anymore. check outside unenterable buildings , check the rubble in the roads, check everywhere. -
Here http://dayzmod.com/f...ling-changelog/ I heartily recommend everyone clicks that link, razor has just updated what they have planned. ;)

Stand Alone Vanilla Settings - Authentic Survival
fluxley replied to Xeiom's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Totally agree on all points, welcome to the forum :beans: I'd like to add No crosshair. Edit: Ha you've added new things, now i've agreed to things i've never read :D Different difficulties should have different saves I dont really see this as a big issue as the only time the difficulty settings really make an impact is when engaged in pvp, Not totally against the idea, just dont think its needed. Hands in the air/on head animation with shortcut key displayed on loading screen We've seen from the E3 video's that there will be a selection of stances (and rocket even mentioned facial expressions) available through the function keys, surrender is one of those. Corpse's should remain after logging out(maybe become a zombie if mauled to death by one?) This is a big issue in the mod, and essentially falls under combat logging, again this was addressed in one of the E3 video's, apparently they are considering a system where if you log out whilst in combat your body will remain behind for a period of time and can be looted. this will no doubt be the case whether alive or dead. As far as becoming a zombie is concerned, you have to remember that what we have in dayz are not the typical living dead zombies, they are living humans driven insane by an infection. So dying means just that, death. there's no coming back as a zombie. -
1. yup, no change there, humanity still rises back up to 2500 automatically and can be increased by administering bloodbags, bandages, epi-pens and painkillers 2. With the new journal there is no way to check your exact humanity, it currently just shows whether you are bandit, survivor or hero, but it is still a work in progress, in future updates it will show varying stages of your characters life, this may include stages of humanity, not sure though. 3.slightly faster run speed, bullet proof vest(only reduces damage from 9mm pistols), and a classy outfit.

What you guys think about the new update?
fluxley replied to grimsonfart's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They're not the living dead, they are living breathing humans infected by a virus. This is from the dayz mod code, i'm guessing its an introduction that was never used for whatever reason. DEAN HALL PRESENTS A USECFORCE PRODUCTION On 12 March 2013, a prion disease spreads among the worlds population triggering a global pandemic The disease causes proteins in the brain to be replaced with prions ceasing regular function Most people progress to dementia and then death as the brain is replaced with ineffective sludge 86% of the worlds population die Some survive with the disease in a chronic state. Lacking regular brain function, they are scarely human. They are unable to communicate, driven by insatiable desire for violence, and attracted to the scent of those uninfected Society crumbles as the pandemic spreads rapidly You are one of the 2% who are not infected yet THIS IS YOUR STORY -
Are there drawbacks to the MMO architecture?
fluxley replied to Felixthefriendlycat's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is a very valid concern, the way gunplay is in arma is a very big part of the dayz experience for me, really hope they dont have to concede anything in this department. -
Thank you R4Z0R49 and rest of the dev team
fluxley replied to kumando's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There's some bug fixes and tweaking to do but honestly i haven't had so much fun playing vanilla dayz in months, The zeds are so much more of a threat now and for me that just makes every aspect of the game better, be it PvE sneaking around towns just in the hope of getting some antibiotics or PvP running with a group all helping each other out. or whatever style of gameplay you prefer. I've even seen strangers help each other out more than ever, something that i thought was long lost. The guys working on DayZmod put a lot of time and effort in trying to fix bugs and improve/add features for us all, and they do this for free and in their spare time. Even if you dont like some of the changes they make try to consider the challenge's they face working on a mod trying to make a game do things that is was never intended for. I'm sure most do appreciate what they do but sadly as always its those that can only respond to something they dont like with hate and unconstructive criticism that are usually heard the loudest. Keep up the good work guys, and thank you. -
Sorry man, but that makes no sense.
