When was the last time you broke a leg? I ask because the chance of breaking a leg from random shit was greatly reduced as of patch 1.7.7 The whole breaking a leg thing is a bit far fetched but at the end of the day its just a game mechanic designed to punish carelessness and its also pretty handy for disabling players without killing them. Maybe it would help if you just consider it as a dislocated joint or even a really really nasty bruise.

Tent placement is being redone, this is from the latest rolling changelog * [NEW] - Object orientation system for better placement (will allow more control on object placement tents, stash, camo nets, tanktraps, sandbags, wirefence) can be found here http://dayzmod.com/f...ling-changelog/ If all you needed was a an entrenchment tool then there would be stashes everywhere. I imagine that the sandbag is used to wrap around the items protecting them from the dirt, though admittedly some plastic sheet would of been much more suitable, sandbags are there in game already and rarely used for anything else. Also people saying they've hardly found any sandbags and etools in months of playing should consider that the loot table has changed and both those items are more common now.

This is another area where having a central server that monitors the loot will come into play, they can limit the total amount of high tier loot that spawns. for example they could say that no more than 100 DMR's can be in existence at one time throughout the whole of the dayz hive, if some get destroyed or are just simply not used for a set amount of time then more are allowed to spawn.

The standalone will have a totally new loot spawning system where all the loot spawned across all the servers is controlled by one central server. One of the things that this allows is for them to limit the amount and type of loot that spawns relative to the population of the server. Only question is, will they be able to get the balance right.

How far can they push the map?

From what i can see they haven't expanded the map, just added new content to the existing map. http://i.imgur.com/P1Ym1GW.gif Adding Utes and Treasure island could be considered an expansion of total landmass but that still doesn't mean they have expanded the total area of the map itself as they both just sit in the ocean which was always part of the map. -

Does arma 3 have working mirrors? man that gives me hope, how well do they function in vehicles?

Because gaining an advantage from a better weapons makes sense. Suddenly having the ability to disconnect from your body and view the world from an elevated position is just too far fetched and advantageous with no penalties. They just aren't comparable. Like i said having an actual mirror on a stick that you use in 1st person would be great, it would be awkward to use, give a limited view of whats on the other side and there would be the chance that the other player could spot it giving away your position. Same with if they improve the variety of stances for the character model so that you could actually poke your head over and around walls without it being too obvious.

Few things i'd try first: Make sure you are using the 103718 arma 2 beta patch as the newer ones can cause problems. If using steam verify the integrity of your game files. https://support.stea...=2037-QEUH-3335, do this for Arma2, Arma2:operation arrowhead, DayZ and any arma dlc you might have such as Private military company(PMC) or British armed Forces(BAF). could be worth uninstalling any dlc just to eliminate them from the problem. It could be that you have too many background programs running overloading your cpu, try shutting down everything you dont need to play the game such as your browser or skype, steam etc What are your pc specs? Also make sure your graphics driver is up to date. -
Its a server side issue, contact the admin of the server and let them know of the issue, or simply find a server that is running correctly.

Then we have the bizarre situation of a mirror being one of the most OP items in the game. The idea of having a mirror on a stick that you actually poke around a wall whilst staying in 1st person view is pretty cool, but i really dont like the idea of having the huge advantage of being able swap to 3rd person just because i have a certain item in my inventory.

Remember that each gun can have very different characteristics to the next, things like basic accuracy, recoil, bullet drop over distance and built in zeroing. If you're not used to how each gun handles it can be a little confusing when you take perfect aim but the bullet lands too high or too low, So just practise and really get to know how each gun works. especially the guns you dont like.

Anyone experiencing poor framerate should make sure they are on the recommended 103718 arma2 beta patch, as the latest ones have been shown to cause problems.

Pine tree's can stop bullets, good way to prove it is to get in a pine tree with a load of zombie aggro and shoot out at them with a pistol, making sure the gun is inside the branches, every now and then in certain position the bullet will hit the tree, you'll see a bullet mark and a puff of smoke.

I always thought the distinct straight line where the grass and tree's suddenly end was enough to indicate the edge's of the map, But then not so long ago had a new guy on our server asking on teamspeak for help because he was lost and starving to death, turns out he'd managed to wander 7 km into the debug plains :D So maybe you have a point. -
