To be fair its the dayz engine, they've changed enough that can be considered a new engine, but they are both based on the RV3 engine.

The problem with the DayZcommander filters is they rely on the server admin naming their server correctly so you could be missing out on many servers that are just named slightly wrong. To find vanilla servers i would just leave all the filters off and search by patch number, in this case 1.7.7.1 then rearrange by player count to get rid of all the empty servers. Then its just a case of looking through the list. Private hives usually have a little cloud icon next to the name and official servers usually go by naming conventions like US 3480 or FR 129 ( those are two well run servers by the way) some private hives use the same naming like balota buddies but usually have something else to say they are private, 'whitelist' being a good example. But yeah, It is all a bit of a mess trying to find a good server unfortunately. -

The idea of gaining humanity through killing zeds totally defeats the intention of the humanity system which is to reward players for helping other players. People kill zeds to either survive or just because its fun to kill things, rewarding them for this is just dumb. -
Its a mod and so most people just accept the random crap that comes with that because they enjoy the game so much, if this stuff is still happening in a years time or whenever the standalone hits its final release i dare say people will be a lot less tolerant.

Are you actually suggesting that players should be able to spawn as animals in the current mod or is this a suggestion for separate mod?

All very good points, but it all seems pretty redundant to me as how many military weapons they include should be primarily based on how it effects gameplay. There's always going to be a big divide on this issue as there are so many different playstyles in one game.

One of the things that worries me about the standalone is the potential 150 players per server, i just dont think chernarus is big enough to handle that many without it being a constant deathmatch, its bad enough in the mod with 50-60 players. But hopefully the new locations and extra emphasis on survival will balance this out.

Currently loving the revolver, but objectively the G17 is easily the best pistol in game, accurate as hell, takes G17,M9 and M9SD mags and it the flashlight has come in handy no end of times. and i'd rather have a Makarov than an M1911 that things so inaccurate it can almost shoot round corners. -

Its for the mod, The point is it was necessary to redesign the old arma 2 ui in order to add the 'carrying' section. -
If you're having trouble breaking the hospital glass here's a top tip, the glass panes to the far left or far right will break easily with one or two hits, even with a thrown tin can. the ones in the middle are pretty much laced with Adamantium. also hitting the notice board on the front of the hospital causes all the glass to instantly break, something to do with voodoo i think.

The longer it takes to move loot around the greater the risk you have to take while doing these things. this is a good thing as it adds to the danger of looting a town with other players and zeds around you. And welcome to the forum.
