The server hosts are the ones that provide servers to admins, some only allow a small amount of control over the settings, others allow full control over all the files. Its the server admins that you are thinking of, they can change server settings and use scripts that add content, but only for private hives.

Hate the idea of walking zombies in dayz, they would only really pose a threat when in a confined space, doesn't matter how many there are you'd be able to just run around them most of the time on a map the size of Chernarus. And there's always going to be a limit to how many you can have on the map at one time. I want to fear zombies even if i'm 100m+ away because they can spot me and come running bringing all their mates with them foaming at the mouth with insane bloodlust in there eyes.

You don't gain humanity from killing bandits in vanilla dayz, but you do in DayZero and Origins. And if you think having a bandit skin means other bandits wont kill you then you're in for a shock. -
I mapped sprint to the space bar so i would of thought you could do that one at least. Also i suggest keeping zoom as Rmb and using Rmb+Lshift for swapping optics, made this change recently and it works really well.

The ability to use items in vehicles was removed because of duping, you could eat the same tin of beans repeatedly giving back full health. -

No, you need Arma 2 free, and the full version of Arma 2 operation arrowhead. here's a guide http://kodabar.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/how-to-install-dayz-with-arma-2-free.html And the link works fine, you just need to enter your date of birth the first time then try again.

The game is currently Pre-Alpha which means it is not ready to be released. When it is ready it will be Alpha, then we can play it.

Most likely someone dumping gear in there so they have space to carry vehicle parts, unless its a private hive vehicles don't spawn with much in them, maybe a makarov if your lucky. -
ooh, just noticed in this pic from the devblog, the beans description says 100% remaining, suggesting you will be able to ration your consumption of food. also, wonder how the condition will effect food.

The M4a1 HOLO SD is not in vanilla public hive dayz, but can be found on private servers and various mods of dayz. You can't be global banned for picking up a hacked in weapon but if it is a banned weapon on the particular server that you are on the server admin can ban you from that server. This thread is almost a year old.. And welcome to the forums. ;)

The first blue item looks like a suppressor, im guessing it is whited out because the bayonet attached to the gun would prevent it fitting. The second blue item looks like the adaptor that is used to attach other items to the gun such as flashlights. Just noticed that if you look to the bottom left on the hot bar you see an image of the bare bones gun with no attachments at all.
