Always makes me laugh the amount of people who suggest that a survivor would sit staring at a can starving to death because they didn't have a can opener.

Totally agree Wayze, Rocket has said a few times that he's aiming for something like in the book/film The Road when it comes to item scarcity, so hopefully that results in food and drink being very hard to come by.

Rocket has said initially it will be one public hive only and then they might allow private at some point in the future. Though i wouldn't be surprised if private hives pop up regardless of what Rocket wants. Personally i hope it stays public only.

Can't remember what it was called , but there is some tech out there that uses seamless instancing to allow huge open world multiplayer maps. Don't know much about it but it gives me hope that one day we will see something like you describe. I want a map so huge that walking to the other side would literally take days.

I'm not convinced that cell phone networks would work for long without regular maintenance, they don't employ thousands of engineers in every city just for a laugh. The same goes for power stations, they wouldn't just keep running with no human input and once they do shutdown the average joe washed up on the beach wouldn't be able to get passed the security systems or have a clue where to start to get the thing running again. All this has been discussed to death loads of times which is why they decided to go with radios instead, far more plausible. Mobile phones could still be included, but the only use for them would be for taking videos, photographs and maybe even timing devices for traps/distraction. -

Don't try to convince them to play a potentially very buggy alpha, Wait for the gameplay videos to flood youtube and allow them to make their own decision on whether they want to buy the game. -

You'd have people that spawned as rats directing team mates towards unsuspecting players, really bad idea. -
Having multiple characters would definitely benefit me personally as i usually like to play as a friendly but often play with a group of friends who can be somewhat less friendly. But having said that i really like the idea of only one character with one unique name. i think it really would make people feel a bit more responsible for their actions. It would also open up things like bounty hunting.

The damage values shown in the video haven't been configured yet, he was just showing us the basic concept of items getting destroyed from taking hits. But besides that, It being hard to get gear by just shooting people is the whole point of the mechanic, people will have to be more creative, holding people up, trading, deception, track them to their camp. -

If they implement adjustable stances like in arma 3 then yes you will be able to peek. Rocket has mentioned stances in the past and theres a hint of it in the new devblog when he's crawling on the ground. -

Yup, its going to be a very different game. Noticed that there was two animations for the crawl, one slightly higher than the other, wonder if thats just the difference between normal crawl and a new double tap faster crawl or if its a separate stance that allows you to raise your head slightly even when not moving. The animations overall are looking a lot better, looks like they've added some small arm movements when moving that really improve the whole feel. -

Backpacks have been shown in a few of the previous video's, though rocket did comment in one they they were still using the old arma models as place holders. i guess they haven't been shown recently because they are redoing them.
