Nope, steam will still use the same cd key/guid, the only thing that you will have to do is re configure your characters name/graphics settings etc. your actual character and gear wont be affected. -

You can use the wipes at any time, before or after bandaging. just so long as its no more than 30 minutes after getting sepsis. -
The original 2012 release was just going to be a repackaged slightly polished version of the mod that could be played without needing to buy arma 2. That idea was scrapped and they decided to start all over again with a game engine designed specifically for DayZ. This is a good thing.

POI's look good, but i would say the third one seems out of place, Military tents would make more sense that far out in the wilderness. Have you considered adding non military POI's? A nice little fishing village at Guba bay maybe?

Rocket has said a few times that he loves the rift but would have to be getting a steady 60 frames per second to use it, so yeah, i'd its a possibility but don't expect it any time soon.

Objection!! its the DayZ engine. a separate branch of the Real Virtuality engine, just like Arma 2 and Arma 3 or Take on Helicopters are separate branch's.

What error are you getting exactly? Also what method are you using to install the arma beta patch?

Ignore the wrong cd key error, its a common error and doesn't effect the beta installation. To filter out other mods you can use the filter options to the left in dayzcommander. Select hide wrong arma2 version and hide wrong mod version then hit refresh all servers at the top. Or if you are trying to play one of the other mods leave the check box's alone and just search by the mods name. -

Try reinstalling the arma 2 beta patch. the version you need for vanilla dayz is 1.62.103718 You can do this through dayzcommander under arma version. Or download it manually here http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php And also you may just be trying to join with the wrong mod files. Dayzcommander lists servers running many different versions of dayz, the ones that show up with white text rather than grey are the ones that you have the right files for. -
Does seem like a good engine, but can it handle multiplayer on the same scale that dayz requires? serious question.

As far as i understand it its largely due to the shear size of the map,and the amount of system resources it would take to have 3000 zeds running around all dynamically calculating where they can and cant run. Most other games have a much smaller map or simply require less accurate pathing.

Same thing,Placeholder, they havent finished the animations for melee yet, waiting for a new animator to start work. Zog, looks like you've mixed up the mod with the standalone game. The only game that is currently available to play is the dayz mod which requires arma 2 to play, that too has undergone quite a few changes since last year, but due to it being a mod there was only so much they could achieve so they decided to make a standalone game that will be sold on its own, and released as an alpha, thats what people have been talking about here, and thats what the footage you saw is of. Most people expect the standalone dayz alpha to be released fairly soon, but really we don't know when it will come out.

They are just using placeholder sounds at the moment, they will all be redone after new content has been added to save having to do new new sounds if things have to be changed.

Theres some videos/screenshots that show no hotbar and some that show the hotbar always visible, this suggests that it will at least be on a toggle. hopefully there will be an autohide option too. And as far as the text prompts are concerned, Rocket recently said he's not happy with how they turned out and has some ideas for an alternative method so i guess we'll have to see what they come up with. I liked the original idea of having audio cues and animations combined with being able to see your status when you go to the inventory screen but expect that would take a while to get right.

Already confirmed that there will be a hotkey to pick up items without going into your inventory. I really dont see much value in having mutiple keys assigned, as just having one key will be much quicker than having to remember which item of clothing has enough slots then selecting the appropriate key. And if time is not an issue you can just go into your inventory and organise as you please. Plus those keys will be used for the main hotbar. -

Ha, that was possibly my FN FAL, had it on me the other day when i got killed near Solnichniy, never even got to fire the thing :(
