If players want a safe zone then its down to them to group together and make it.

Would be nice to be able to use the acog or the long range scope even without a weapon.

Yeah, all the sounds are pretty messed up at the moment, good news is they are all placeholders and they are working on not just replacing the sounds but also improving how audio works in general. Hopefully that means a much better surround sound system. might take a while though.

Make sure the water bottle/canteen is in your hands then looking at the water source use the mouse scroll wheel to select fill bottle. dammit, double ninja'd

Waypoints have been removed, you'll have to learn to navigate around the map by landmarks and roadways instead.

Did some testing myself, while prone at 800m theres a load of spread, but once i deployed the bipod it the spread pretty much vanished, though it did hit consistantly to the left a little, this may be down to the scope being badly damaged or maybe the gun itself.

You need to get to the point where it says "Healthy" in the inventory, it can take a lot of food and drinking, but once you get there you'll no longer need to consume as much and you should start to regenerate health.

They concentrated on the M4 because it has a lot of options for attachments making it a good test gun for getting everything working correctly.

Was that the M4 bayonet?, its more like a combat knife really, or the long mosin one though? And by hatchet i meant the wood splitting axe, not tried the fireaxe yet.

This is what rocket says about combat logging I hate combat loggers as much as anyone, but i'm prepared to wait. getting server performance sorted is far more important.

These are the ones i've tried so far that work and roughly the amount of food that is lost. Kitchen knife 25-30% Screw driver 25-30% Hatchet, 45-50% and of course the can opener 0% The M4 bayonet can also be used, not sure how much food you lose though. Also the pipe wrench isn't such a bad weapon with a bit of practice, better than the shovel and crowbar at least.

They are working on optimization constantly. just because a modeller is working on a new gun model, doesn't mean the main programmers aren't working on more important things behind the scenes, If you are suffering game crashes you can help the resolve the issue by providing details on the feedback tracker http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=1592 make sure to search first to see if others report the same symptoms and if so add to it and upvote.

FPS great after server restart. ~10 fps 20 minutes later

I haven't noticed any drop in frame rate over time in the standalone so far. -
Maps are pretty hard to come by, so yeah, best bet is to stick to the woods but keep roads in view, you don't want to be out in the open too much, there's a lot of bandito's out there. I agree with not watching others play, this games at its best when you get out there and explore things for yourself. :beans:

With a little practice is pretty easy to kill zeds with a hatchet without taking damage, i find it best to be aggressive, make sure you get a hit in before they attack and then move away and come back in to hit again.

Theres two ways to pick up items. You can hover the crosshair over it until the take option shows and press either middle mouse button or F Or if you are close enough and can see the item clearly press TAB to go into your gear menu and the items will show in the vicinity window to the right, then either just double click the item or drag and drop to your inventory on the left.

hmm, just looking at that one page i can see the wiki is as bad as ever, lots of the info on there only relates to the mod, most functions in the game are totally different now.

There is a bug currently that can cause character data to be lost, hopefully it will be fixed soon.

You can only change your name via steam. go to your account in the top right>profile>edit>profile name then save changes
