The more lag/dsync you have the more likely you'll be able to escape, try joining servers with very high ping and running with lots of tabs open in your browser,Youtube vids would probably work best. then run at a wall while tapping V to jump. Another method is to run against the corner of the room and press alt-F4 to exit the game with some luck you might be on the outside when you rejoin, could take a lot of attempts though.

Press T for select fire, trouble is there's no info to tell whether you are in semi or full.

The chance of spawning somewhere undesirable is an intended part of the penalty of death. The less you die the less of a problem it becomes.

I tend to think of it that the gun was left there because the previous user had run out of ammo. maybe they dumped it or maybe they died.

There has already been many servers reported for kicking players, i think the ability to kick may depend on the server host. -

Last i tried it hiding a body would make the gear inaccessible but the body would remain. -

Admins can name servers however they like as long as certain info is present, but if they are actually enforcing these rules by kicking players then they are breaking the rules set out by BI for the public hive, its the servers hosts responsibility to enforce these rules and there's a guide on how to report them here http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/ -
You either have to accept that stuff like this is going to happen while the game is being developed or just stop playing and try again in a month or so to see if things have improved. The devs are well aware of the issues but some things will just take longer than others to fix.

There was actually servers a little like this for the mod, upon death you would respawn fully geared, they were PvP servers.

There's currently an issue that when you place objects on the ground/vicinity they can take a while to appear, can take 30+ seconds sometimes, you just have to wait it out. Also if you drop items on the upper floors of some buildings they might appear on the floor below.

Ah, the ultimate question, heres a good post giving a brief description of most of them http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/109569-index-of-dayz-community-mapsmods/ Personally i prefer to keep it simple with standard DayZ or if you prefer things a bit more hardcore DayZ Despair, though despair isnt on dayzcommander sadly. It really depends what you're after, some are more focused on pvp, some survival and some more on building/hoarding. one problem with many of the mods is that they try to cram too much in which can severly effect performance without really adding much to the game.

hmm, still looks like the beta patch isnt installing correctly. Did you install dayzmod and the beta patch using steam? if so i'd suggest uninstalling both then verify the game cache for arma 2 and OA Then download dayzcommander http://www.dayzcommander.com/ and install the beta and dayz using that. one thing thats easy to miss, when you install the beta patch you have to click ok or complete to finish the process, problem is the window for that usually hides behind any other windows you might have open so thats worth checking for. Also the server lists for dayz are a bit of a mess as all the different mods of the mod get listed all together so its very easy to try to join the wrong type of server, again dayzcommander helps with this as it has much better filter options than the default server browser. let me know how you get on

You need to install the beta patch for arma, http://www.arma2.com/downloads/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_103718.zip if you get an error while installing just ignore it, then restart arma 2 and arma 2 OA, just need to go into the main menu then exit once to make sure they are installed correctly. and you should be good to go. Its also recommended to use a third party updater such as daycommander or playwithsix as they make the keeping track of favorite servers and the various mods much easier.

Swim away from the sun, just wedge the W key down with something and leave it running, you'll either hit land eventually or die from the exertion and be able to respawn.

Its possibly just the pbo exploit, it's listed as fixed in the next update. So far security is much better than the mod but there's still a few holes that need patching, and most likely new holes will be made as the game is developed, its just going to take time and constant updates to keep on top of things.
