Its more like once every four hours for official servers. so yeah, its a bit risky to leave stuff lying around.

Currently any item you leave on the ground will stay there until the server restarts (or someone finds it). In the future backpacks and most likely other items will be persistent even after a server restart.

Hi, sorry, i didn't mean you should post your crash dump here, to make sure the devs see it you should register and create a new topic on the bugtracker http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view_all_bug_page.php Have you tried verifying your game cache through steam? or even just reinstalling the game? Edit: Just thought it could be an issue with your graphics driver, try updating to the latest for your card, and if you're already on the latest try downgrading to the previous version.

Ignore the wrong cd key error, just go ahead now and install the mod, -
There was a post a while ago showing a Vilayer control panel with the option to install BEC, though i havent seen in game either, so dont know for sure that its working, Also it still relies on the admin actually setting up the messages and the BEC scheduler isnt the most user friendly thing for new admins.

Server restart messages are handled by a third party program called BEC (BattlEye Extended Controls) Its down the sever host to allow the use of BEC as admins for the standalone dont have full access to the server files. As far as i know only Vilayer currently have this feature, So we need admins to hassle their server hosts to give them the option to install BEC, or even add the option for restart warnings straight to the control panel.

Arma 3 uses a completely different player skeleton to dayz so just borrowing animations wouldn't work. I like the idea but i dont think it would work so well when picking up items in vicinity.

Don't know about the others but for no.1 Rocket has said he likes the idea of having to look at the gun to see which fire mode you are in. -
Thats pretty much the whole concept behind the upcoming cooking mechanic, we'll be able to combine different ingredients to make meals, even to the point of being able to add poison.

Im pretty sure the game difficulty options are just left overs from arma as theres nothing other than first person on/off that players can change currently, but i put it on expert just to be sure.

There should be options under Edit settings, change 1st person only to enabled[Hardcore] and Game difficulty to expert.

First thing i'd do is check that your setting config file isnt set to read only, Go to C:\Users\[yourusername]\Documents\DayZ Right click the DayZ folder and select Properties and make sure the box next to read only isnt checked also check the files inside the dayz folder, mainly [yourusername].DayZProfile

Nothing has been confirmed, but they have mentioned a few times that they want to port the game over to other operating systems once the windows version is finished.

Yup, can confirm, broken arm increases weapon sway, unless you're going hunting i'd keep hold of the morphine and go look for some sticks to make a splint.
