  1. Tired of the same old' team deathmatch? Want something new? What I am trying to do here is not your average DayZ server; I want to try to get something going that could make this game better. I control a private server entitled "DayZ's The Walking Dead." The title alone kind of explains what direction I am trying to go here. This is NOT a Role-play server. However, I do want you to put yourself into the mindset of what you would do if a real zombie apocalypse were to occur. - NO Random PVP (I don’t want to say that there is no PVP, that’s simply unrealistic but build a dialogue with survivors and if things go bad, so be it) - NO Established Clans (Just as in the show, “The Walking Dead” the group of individuals barely knew each other prior to the infection or knew a select few. The goal would be to eventually start out in one to two person entities and either join a group or survive on your own) If this is something that you might be interested in, you may email me directly at [email protected] and we will discuss possibly getting you started. KEEP IN MIND, we have very active admins and all hacking or deathmatching will result in permanent ban. There are no warnings.

    Looking for a new group

I've been playing DayZ for some time now. I have played as a bandit, hero, and just someone that avoids other players. My group used to be around 8 players strong and we played nearly everyday. However, the last few months now, our group has gone down quite a bit. We usually have just two now, maybe three depending on the day. With that said, I am looking for a new group to play with. I have nearly every map and play most maps. I am 28 years old and play nearly everyday. If your group could use an experienced player or possibly two, add me on Skype (jrb0585).

    "Day'z The Walking Dead" Recruitment

I have received messages from folks that are on our server that they will not play again until we move to Chernarus. Unfortunately, I am not one to respond well to threats like this and I've become pretty attached to the Panthera map. There is something for everyone on this map and there is still a level of difficulty there. Namalsk was difficult but the map was not work the small increase in difficulty. I would much rather have a larger map and fill it with several groups of survivors all trying to make it during the apocolypse. With that said, we will probably be on the Panthera map for some time. I hope to see some new faces and emails coming my way soon after the Thanksgiving holiday. We still have plenty of openings for the server since its still at the beginning stages and since we lost some players due to my map switch. Hope to hear from you.

    "Day'z The Walking Dead" Recruitment

Due to the unpopularity of Namalsk in our community, I have decided to abandon that area and move to the large island of Panthera. This should be the last move for quite awhile. I do want to make sure things are fresh and exciting but I don't see another move in our future. Unfortunately, Namalsk wasn't as "hardcore" as I thought and didn't live up to the hype. With that said, my group is pretty excited about Panthera and we hope to see everyone out there getting camps set up and surviving the apocolypse.

Also, my email took a temporary crap so if you had sent an email in the past week or so, please give me another shout out and we will get you on if you are still interested. Once again, very active admins and now we have anti-hack software provided by the server so the chances of hacking are slim but even if it happens, they are usually gone by the end of the day.

    "Day'z The Walking Dead" Recruitment

Just an update to the server. We moved to the Namalsk map because it would seem pretty hardcore with the lack of solid food spawns and very little as far as residential areas are concerned. Also, the smaller map will prompt more player interaction. The server password is still the same although it is listed as a different server. If you search for my email in the list, you will see it pop up. Hope to see everyone out there.

    "Day'z The Walking Dead" Recruitment

I wanted to inform everyone reading this topic that the rMod requirement is no longer there. So the only requirement is that you follow the rules and have the most current version of DayZ. I want to thank those who have already joined. So far, this format is producing some interesting dialogue that doesn't end in mindless PVP. The more players we have in the server, the more these player interactions will become more frequent. I hope to see more emails from potential players in the near future.

    Something Different...

To be quite honest, if someone is unwilling to put forth a bit of effort and read my post, they are probably not the type of person that I want in my server anyway. If anyone is interested, please send me an email provided in the orginal post.

    Something Different...

Tired of the same old' team deathmatch? Want something new? What I am trying to do here is not your average DayZ server; I want to try to get something going that could make this game better. I just need your help. I control a private server entitled "DayZ's The Walking Dead." The title alone kind of explains what direction I am trying to go here. This is going to be an experiment of sorts. I don't want to call this a Role-play server. I don't want you to think of some deep character background and have a different name every time you die. However, I do want you to put yourself into the mindset of what you would do if a real zombie apocalypse were to occur. Now, we can go into the philosophical debate of whether shooting on sight would really occur but I will save us all some time and continue on with some small rules to help provide some civility which in turn will produce more dialogue and enriching experience. My main rule would be no killing on sight. I don’t want to say that there is no PVP, that’s simply unrealistic but I feel so is killing on sight. For example, if one person finds another person and one person is starving and the other has food, the first step would be open dialogue and contact. If a negotiation goes sour, the starving player has every right to either walk away or risk starving in the search for food or killing the person who has the food and taking it to survive. This would be the ideal scenario just to name one. You can come in and join a group or survive on your own, that decision is yours. I do want to limit the amount of individuals you do already know prior to coming into the server. Just as in the show, “The Walking Dead” the group of individuals barely knew each other prior to the infection or knew a select few. The goal would be to eventually start out in one to two person entities and either join a group or survive on your own. There are additional rules designed purely to stimulate dialogue and therefore experience that I will go over with you individually. If this is something that you might be interested in, you may email me directly at [email protected] and we will discuss possibly getting you started. KEEP IN MIND, we have very active admins and all hacking or deathmatching will result in permanent ban. We have no warnings, we don’t need you but you definitely could benefit from this experience. With this in mind, each person will go through an interview process over email to make sure, you are taking this seriously. There could be a lot of fun intense moments in this server if you allow this experiment to happen. If this experiment gets bombarded with COD douchbags, I can easily revert back to my current group of survivors in the server ourselves. I gain nothing from this except the additional dialogue and experience that this type of gameplay could create. Thank you for your time.

    Something Different...

I didn't know that font size and color swayed people from trying something different and maybe find a new angle for this game that doesn't involve sitting in the hills of electro waiting to snipe some new player with nothing on him...
