How is this even possible? Server-client architecture with any shred of decency work like this: Client: "Hey, can I spawn an item here?" Server: "No. You are a client, you can never spawn an item anywhere, period." Client: "OK." Client: "Hey, can I dictate to you where my position is?" Server: "No. You are a client, you may never dictate to me where your position is." Client: "OK." I understand ESP because the client does have that information, but spawning items and teleporting is rediculous, how is your system even allowing that?

Zombie Pathfinding - an idea from a fellow programmer...

If a zombie cannot see a player (trace line), they will use the regular pathfinding method, otherwise they will run in a straight line to the player. This would prevent the zig-zagging, I believe (which ruins the game significantly for me.) Kind regards, kurozael. -

Suggestions for the DayZ standalone - thinking outside of the limitations of an Arma 2 mod.

Don't script anything in which governs player control and decisions. e.g: a class system, NPC traders/doctors/whatever, or any safe zones. Never. For this reason please REMOVE humanity-based skins. This is ridiculous. Do script in new weapons, lootable clothing, and ailments. -
At the moment it's easy to join a Recruit or Regular server with death messages, third person, crosshair, etc where most of the newbies are playing to gain loot, then switch to a hardcore server. If all servers were hardcore, it would stabilize the DayZ experience by forcing everyone to play at the same difficulty.

This is a fantastic idea. So long as your "tag" for a certain player is reset when that player dies, and similarly another player's tagging of you would reset when you die. I hope to see this implemented, and for players being able to set what message others see, this would be great for roleplaying. e.g: I could set my description to "A tall white spotty male wearing a suit", and other players would see the "tag" when they look at me. -

Rocket, please fix the following issues in this patch if possible. Everybody's asking for them, and they seem simple (I'm a games programmer myself), it'd really improve the gameplay. If possible, fix duping items from tents. When putting items into a full backpack, it removes the item. Please make the "open bag" GUI consistent throughout, the one you see when picking up gear from the ground is much more user friendly. Zombies cause bleeding on just one hit, I'm not sure if this is deliberate but it seems to be inconsistent. Equipping some clothing can cause items such as backpacks to disappear (cannot replicate). Sometimes it isn't possible to retrieve meat gutted from an animal. Thanks Rocket!

As a games programmer myself, I believe that Rocket's method is good. He's using the alpha to it's full potential by testing features and ideas in real time, which incidentely will evolve the perfect game by the time it goes gold. Rocket cannot please all players, because each player has different ideologies of what makes the perfect simulation. Rocket can only see the evolution of this game as a democracy, and add or remove features in a manner which abides by the interest of the majority.

Rocket please make the hatchet always go into the toolbet when you pick it up. Sometimes it replaces the primary weapon, I'd rather this didn't happen. Also have you thought about making the baseball cap an item that you can find, and adding other head-gear such as helmets (military, civilian), which you can equip in a new inventory slot. You could also do the same for the kevlar vest on the current civilian model, have the kevlar vest as a toolbet item which causes it to appear on the model. Then making the model start with a random clothing skin (or add additional lootable clothing skins). This would be AWESOME. Also I reminded you on the live stream the other night but you did say you forgot, so don't forget about the "bloody zombie textures", thanks Rocket :)

Yes, but they'd be going through the effort to do this. Where as right now it's automatic, and I don't like it.

Please remove the "Murders" and "Bandits Killed" from the Debug Monitor as these ENCOURAGE murder. Some people are likely to see this as a "Score" for deathmatching. Also perhaps you should remove the text "Debug Monitor" too, I don't see why it needs to be there and it'd be awfully neater.

I think a wipe will fix a lot of problems. Considering the duplication exploits will be fixed in this update, and so they won't be able to do it any more, it would be best for everyone to start with nothing. And those that would complain that they didn't dupe any items and did everything legitimately, it will still be fair because EVERYONE starts with nothing again.

Because having to drop your primary to equip it is just great' date=' isn't it? But you can currently go as close as you like to any animal and they don't give a shit... so what's the problem?

Can you please make it so we can use "Gut Animal" without killing the animal first, it seems unrealistic we can't kill an animal with the hunting knife.
