Elektro bombed to the ground at FI1

Yes, this is definitely weird. My buddy suddenly had his legs break all the time while in Cherno/Elektro, so that was really fucked up... I bet those french guys had something to do with it, they put a few markers on the map in french and those were the areas which had been "bombed".

    AI Military recon patrols

Here's an idea that I've toyed around with, maybe there could be a random path (Not with the most valuable loot with them, no) military AI squad patrolling random areas of chernarussia, preferably the Russian spetsnaz units doing a recon survey of the area (as the Chernarussian control has been taken out by the apocalypse thingy), and their teamleader would have a radio with him. Now the thing: If you find a radio (As I've found, not a hacked thing apparently) you could intercept their situational reports rarely (giving away their grid), and possibly go in there and try to take them out for medium/good loot. This would make an interesting mechanic for experienced players who have survived for long to acquire a radio. You might also run in to them randomly, but the idea of specific AI constantly being somewhere in the game might cause some problems I know. Feel free to develop the idea or criticize of course.

    AI Military recon patrols

Yes but this isn't meant to replace PvP at all, the AI wouldn't have as good gear as you could find on the best players. Just some basic to good things really. I think they could fire at you aswell but the group would need to be restricted from new player areas for that. They also shouldn't go that near towns because of the zombies and would make more sense if they stayed in the woods too, but I hope that is not making it too complicated.

    Babies! (Well, society)

No, I'm not. It's just a bit more complicated than you'd think, reproduction is the result of environmental conditions and all sorts of weirdoe gene-influenced behavior and the act of sex itself. People don't consciously feel a sense of "survival", it's just our genes, our "selfish" genes that make blueprints of structure/behavior in order to replicate. For example, a human might abandon his/her child because it looks weird or ugly, in a sense that is a mechanism for our genes to show preference for more healthy gene vehicle. The environment plays a big part in our sexual desires aswell, our libido is lower when we are stressed and so on. Having sex at the wrong time might result in worse overall gene reproducing, so it's not all about having sex all the time, since resources are scarce and others are better candidates for mates than some others. It is a common misconception that "reproduction is the most basic sense of survival", that is not simply the case, only in genetics it would apply more in the words of "Reproduction is the primary function of our genes" And from that genome everything you do is to make your genes reproduce, and it's most definitely not always to procreate with another human being. Ever wonder why people want to be with a good looking gal rather than ugly? Because they look and probably are more healthy, that's all it is all about, to signal another gene vehicle of our "great" genes and health. ps. And by survival I meant the way you put it, we would want to look after ourselves during hard times and procreating is not the first thing to happen.

    Babies! (Well, society)

I don't need a resume to challenge your idea, I still think you're wrong about it. I suspect you generalize the situation in Chernarussia way too easily and confuse events taking place in the real world .vs DayZ and not see that the conditions are vastly different in this apocalyptic atmosphere. Everyone you encounter is practically a stranger and you won't know them for long, There is no life-time for pairs to really bond (Yet this still happens, during certain periods), no safe haven for groups to settle in for too long, resources are scarce and too often you die looking for supplies. The place is disease ridden, and people deal with high levels of stress and fear on a daily basis. Sure, people still do it. But they all die eventually and even faster in this world if they do it. But no, no person who has thought about and decided to be a realist would do it as there are no survivors in the end in DayZ. There still is hope to it and that's why you think this should be included? I think that is a vague idea and not really what most would be interested in. But I think you used your assumptions about my personal life in attempt to make your idea seem less vulnerable, I might be wrong about this of course. We're probably on the same page when it comes to biology anyway if you do hold a degree in genetics and anthropology, you just don't meet me at an agreement on this game subject. I've said what I've wanted to say now, there's just no point going further for my part.

    Babies! (Well, society)

I think this wouldn't be taken seriously ingame and it would ruin some of the atmosphere for players. In over 99% of the time in reality your offspring would die in the conditions of Chernarussia, with zero chance of ever growing up. The thing is, everything really is hopeless in the atmosphere of DayZ (and we like it), you're all about survival, the last bit of human instinct you have left. People murder each other for a can of beans. You can't form a place to settle because zombies are always around. Not even in the woods, the bandits will find you at some point and kill you and your delicious babies.

    Body Armor

I don't think this is such a good idea. At least it should restrict your stamina greatly, kevlar doesn't breathe and it's extremely uncomfortable during long patrols. Trauma plates are heavy and they're a pain in the ass to carry, and I don't know if the characters can even have such protection parameters. But it might be possible. I just don't see how or why...

    Anomalies in the forest

I don't think this fits the game atmosphere, it wouldn't make any sense really. Sounds highly supernatural, and I think DayZ should stick to being believeable, and that's the reason why I think most people are playing it for such a long time. "Wonder what I'd do in a zombie apocalypse..." kind of stuff.

    Flatulence

Man, I love the sense of realism and immersion brought by some of the ideas built into this wonderful mod, but some things should just be left out. I mean you do that stuff in real life anyway while playing, there isn't a need to simulate that. I would die of laughter every time.

    Add a sexual anxiety meter

This idea is ridiculous as are the comments even considering this as a possibility... Human sexual behavior would be radically different in a post-apocalyptic, zombified, hostile humans filled environment... People would have virtually no libido during that time of high stress, until they'd find a safe settlement and learn to cope with their shitty feelings about the world. People would definitely not start to reproduce out of sexual desire since it's near a 100% death rate for their offspring, not to mention the harm caused to the female, which would make their gene-replication even less likely! TL;DR: Learn behavioral biology, and come up with something that makes sense... I think this is a joke anyway. xD

Magazines for FN and Bizon. NV toggle

I actually like the idea of FAL / Bizon magazines being rare, making them more specialized and unique... But also, you can't use M14 magazines in a FAL anyway, different magazine layout. (IRL)

    delete this thread.

The whole idea of water contamination seems a bit too wrong right now, I think that would need to be tuned out along with the infection system itself. I love the fishing rod, that's great!

    New NVG Spawn location?

This was quite a while ago, NVG's used to spawn in deer stands but not anymore. My friend found them from one a few weeks after release.
  15. * Server this happened on. US 8 / Virginia 13 (formerly) * Time that it happened including your timezone. 15:05 (Almost exactly) GMT+2 Finnish time. * What happened during the incident. Happened at NW airfield. I was going to cover my friend who was looting a body near northern barracks, I went to the opposite side of the airfield to see if there were any snipers there as I thought I heard a shot earlier coming from there. As I arrived, I found myself behind two survivors who were taking aim at my friend and I shot them immediately, they didn't have time to react much to it... Then I looked over their gear quickly and this GBU-12 thing just appeared suspicious, as I knew it was a bomb and yeah... A player shouldn't have a laser guided 500lb bomb in their inventory. One of the pictures show the player names ingame almost immediately after the incident. I would be interested in those who are in lobby. Also: The server suddenly went down soon after, which is suspicious aswell. Edit: Fraps has timestamps so corrected time.

NYC 7 hackers = [IMD] Clan

We were ambushing NW airfield (With our thermal AS50, we got that from a group we killed yesterday on FI 1) And we shot a couple of clearly hacking guys infront of the firestation. Their names were [iMD]meam, and [iMD]armin. This happened at about 18:00 (GMT+2) Both of them had the best type of gear (NV Goggles, GPS, you name it, they had it) based on a SD kit, one had a M4 CCO SD, but the other one had a G36C SD... which is suspicious. I noticed that there was an ammo box next to their dead bodies, that had the same identical gear that one of them did. We asked about their amazing gear in chat and they said that they got them from heli crash sites, but when we said about the ammo box that was next to their bodies they went silent. So I think they finally realized that they really got caught. By the way, in the pictures you see I have a PDW SD, I got that from their body and I'm going to drop it because it's hacked. As far as I know my AS50 TWS allowed in the game but there is no clarity about that... There should be an official list on allowed items, wouldn't you agree?

    Dallas 42 Apache

Just saw a T-90 in the middle of the airfield, lots of buildings destroyed.... On Dallas 42.

    Guessing this Weapon is hacked

"Removed" does not mean that the item has been removed from those who obtained them in earlier patches, you just can't get them from spawns anymore. My team has a M107 TWS and we've asked around about it from good sources, and it's legal. And yeah basically anything that has an icon next to it's name is probably good to go... don't let it go! It's a super rare discontinued item.

Skin Swap makes Lost NVGs + More. Backpack Fine.

Oh yes, this very same thing happened to me aswell a couple of days ago. I was at NW airfield where I off'd another survivor. (I'm beginning to think karma actually works in DayZ, something bad always follows when I do something like this.) And I lost My primary weapon (Mk.48) and all the ammo in my inventory, NV Goggles, rangefinder (seems that everything from the optics slots disappear), but I kept my backpack and my PDW... Thankfully a couple of bandits wandered there later and at least I got my NVG's back, but is this one of the reasons why the Bandit/Survivor humanity skin system is being scrapped? Would these problems continue once the changeable skin system is implemented?
