Why is this game getting worse and worse in performance?

Oh I forgot to mention. I am barely sitting at 30 FPS in game. Even in the forest.

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

Simple solution to this whole problem. You place wire. When you leave server. Wire goes with you. /thread

Did Arma II's Franchise get saved by DayZ Mod?

You guys are looking at it the wrong way though. The game and developers itself were always fine hence Arma 3. However, the games have always been filled with horrible bugs, hacks, poor animations etc. In a sense the game has been saved in terms of production quality. BI now has the potential funds it needs to improve or revamp the Arma engine, add more creative staff or fix server side bugs, hacks and expand upon its community with more mod support or whatever.
  4. Basically my problem is this. Arma 2 Day Z runs off Arma 2 Combined Operations. An executable that does not technically exist. My assumption is that the game uses the regular Arma 2 executable and Combined Operations is just the games way of saying its running the expansion, (Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead) plus the main game through the main game. If that makes any sense. Damn you Arma 2 developers. Now my problem is that I want to maximize the performance of the mod itself, (Day Z) using a RAMDisk. Now setting up the RAMDisk is not my issue technically. It is that I need to how to path the games executables to stream off the RAMDisk in order to utilize the speed increases. Now I don't have the room to throw both games in the RAMDisk and launch them directly from there. This would be a non issue if I did. What I can do is simply add one game and the mod to the RAMdisk and stream it. However, I need to know how to path the executable to read the one game installed on the RAMdisk and the other on the physical HD. I use Six launcher/updater so if that needs special setup to make it all work than we need to factor that in there as well. If anyone has any insight please feel free to let me know. Ill leave it for now but any help is much appreciated.

  6. Ok so just putting the DayZ folder in is pointless. I have 12 GB of space on my RAMdisk. What files should go into the RAMdisk to make it most effective? Im guessing the entire Operation Arrowhead folder that has DayZ in it also, but all of the textures and Chern map objects are located in the Arma 2 folder. So how can I make this work? I am also using Six launcher/updater by the way so that needs to come into play as well.

How to properly set up Arma RAMdisk - What files go in?

LEt me try this right now. Ok so Steps 9 and 11 I assume I am typing into the command prompt. Where am I launching the game after from than? Six launcher or what?

    Luckiest Spawn EVER!

Random server, random field, run up a hill 2 mins in, Heli crash site with no zombies. Examine area for 5 mins. Run in. 2 Fal's on the ground with 5 clips of ammo in total. Damn I am lucky.
  10. Not even going to touch them until I know everything about them. Title says all.

How many slots do weapons take up in the backpack?

I have the 24 slot. The issue is not the bag it is how many slots does the weapon take up. Going from first post than 10 seems about right. Will have to test further.
  12. It was nearly pitch black 3AM when I seen him spawn. I had asked this survivor if he needed help. I was in the command center at the time when he came into the server and started shooting in the opp building. He throws a flare because its pitch black, doing this the guy draws about 20 zombies in and starts shooting. He pleas for help while claiming he was low on food/bandages, apparently he had used his last one. So leaving the sanctity of the command center I approach the building and climb up the back ladder to sneak up on him, in order to gauge his truthfulness. He kept his back to the window while looking down the stairs to shoot incoming walkers. So I prone my way over to his backpack from the ladder I had just climbed up. Looking inside while he is busy shooting and reloading. To my surprise he had 5 cans of food and water and 2 bandages. This lying scumbag tried to draw me in using a clever ploy I have yet to encounter in DayZ. His attempt in to appear "noobish". Shooting off his pistol to draw zombies into the buolding and using a flare to paste the icing on the cake. Realizing this I took action. I told this survivor I was coming in from downstairs doors and not to shoot me on my way up. Saying this I loaded my slugs into my m1014, backed up about 4 feet and yelled into the mic... "aboogabogoogabo"..... proceeded by "bang" "bang"..... The scumbag fell over dead. Nearly immediately walkers rushed in and I experienced an adrenaline rush right down to the cellular level. Quickly looting his corpse and throwing a smoke grenade off the roof of the building I proceeded to climb down the ladder and make my escape. I have never done something so crazy in DayZ before. The moral of the story here ladies and gentlemen? Trust no one.
  13. I'm running a AMD FX-4100 @ 5Ghz, 16Gb 1666 RAM, Overclocked 6970 running off a 64GB SSD and still managing a crappy 25 FPS on default med-high settings. How do you get more FPS out of this game?
  14. Nightmare_Pwner

Ways to Increase FPS? This is horrible.

Fair enough. It's understandable that there are indeed performance bugs however, if anyone has .ini settings that can increase this a little bit. I would be grateful.
  15. How long does it take for your character to be removed physically from a server when you exit the game? There are situations where too many zombies may be closing in on you or you spot bandit players and want to avoid the situation all together so you log out. How long does it take from the time you push Abort and you disconnect for you to physically be removed from the game world? You would assume it is instant however, it may take 5 or more seconds for you to physically be removed. More than enough time for a zombie to chomp your arm or a bandit to shoot you before you are gone.
